- I've always loved the Mother franchise, so when I heard that Undertale was created by someone heavily inspired by the classic JRPG franchise - I was immediately interested.
Then, when members of the community here told me they loved the game, there was no question - I had to do a blind Undertale Let's Play, so from here on out that's what is going down. Well, until it's over. But yeah! Let's Play Undertale on Nintendo Switch :D
P.S. how fitting is it that the series starts on the week of Undertale’s 9th birthday?

Undertale is a 2015 2D role-playing video game created by American indie developer Toby Fox. The player controls a child who has fallen into the Underground: a large, secluded region under the surface of the Earth, separated by a magical barrier. The player meets various monsters during the journey back to the surface, although some monsters might engage the player in a fight. The combat system involves the player navigating through mini-bullet hell attacks by the opponent. They can opt to pacify or subdue monsters in order to spare them instead of killing them. These choices affect the game, with the dialogue, characters, and story changing based on outcomes.
Outside of artwork and character designs by Temmie Chang and other guest designers, Fox developed the entirety of the game by himself, including the script and music. The game took inspiration from several sources, including the Brandish, Mario & Luigi, and Mother role-playing game series, bullet hell shooter series Touhou Project, role-playing game Moon: Remix RPG Adventure, and British comedy show Mr. Bean. Undertale was originally meant to be two hours in length and was set to be released in mid-2014, but received delays.
The game was released for Windows and OS X in September 2015. It was also ported to Linux in July 2016, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in August 2017, the Nintendo Switch in September 2018, and Xbox One in March 2021. The game was acclaimed for its thematic material, intuitive combat system, musical score, originality, story, dialogue, and characters. The game has sold at least five million copies and was nominated for multiple accolades and awards. Several gaming publications and conventions listed Undertale as game of the year, and others have since listed it as one of the greatest video games ever made. Two chapters of a related game, Deltarune, were released in 2018 and 2021.

Just a warning, please, don't read comments for as long as you're playing this game, people love to backseat this game and many times end up ruining people's first experiences, but the absolute best way to enjoy your time with undertale is to have no expectations, no knowledge, and just act how you feel like based on what the game gives you, I hope you have a good time with this great game, have fun!

I love talking to the monsters as well it creates alot of funny interactions, also ur doing really well with it but keep reading everything so many cool details in this game!

Only thing I would recommend this episode is if you weren't paying super close attention to the cutscene that played when you were doing your intro to the video, I would highly recommend watching it again. It provides very important background setup for the story, and some future dialogue and story won't make as much sense without that knowledge. The cutscene replays every time you boot up the game, so it is easy to watch. But if you got it the first time, you don't need to watch it again. You were just talking through all of the important parts so I wasn't sure lol

Seeing this video pop up on my feed made me so nostalgic. Unfortunately, the TH-camr who first introduced me to this game turned out to be... a rather unsavory individual... so I'm glad to be able to dive into a fresh new playthrough, which will hopefully be just as - if not more - enjoyable than the one I had seen all those years ago.

yeah i've heard that happens with undertale letsplays, as a mod i will try to do my best to get rid of all the spoilers in the comment section, but have not seen any so far.

as others have mentioned already, be very careful when reading comments, since the undertale community is notorious for spoiling the fun. but i dont see any spoilers here yet and the game is rather old, so people might have learned the errors of their way and stopped spoiling. still, be carefull
