My wife and I made this recipe several days ago, as we have lots of poblano peppers from our garden, and it was absolutely delicious! In fact, it was so good, we're making it again tomorrow night! Thanks for a great recipe!
Amazing recipe. My mom used to make stuffed green bell peppers all the time when I was a kid, which was her favorite, but I've never liked the bitter taste of green bells. Orange, red, and yellow are fine. I cooked a variation of this recipe for her using poblanos about 3 years ago. I added ground pork, chorizo, chopped green onion tops, and a touch of cumin, but overall it was the same recipe. She absolutely loved it. I make the same thing for myself quite often. Many times, if I can't find poblanos, I'll use the big jalapeño peppers, which are just as tasty, but a bit warmer. I usually add a bit of cream cheese, pepper-jack and smoked paprika to the mix on those. Damn, now I'm hungry. =)
I definitely agree with preferring the sweet crunchy yellow and orange peppers... red peopers if nothing else though. but absolutely NOT bothering with green bell peppers... I will try the poblano bec they are not devilishly hot...
Just found your channel tonight. Ive never had stuffed peppers of any kind, Ive been looking at different recipes, and I love the ingredients in this one! I knew I wanted to use pablanos, cant wait to make this later in the week!
Really nice demonstration of the basics. What's so fun about making these is there are infinite ways to do it. I usually grow at least two poblano plants in my Garden each year. My favorite way to stuff them is with my homemade elk Italian sausage breadcrumbs and gorgonzola cheese. But I'm definitely going to try the rice now instead of the bread crumbs. If you're trying to introduce your children to a little bit spicier food I would just lean on the pablano and leave the chipotle pepper out. By the way Chipotle pepper is just a jalapeno pepper that was allowed to stay on the vine long enough to turn red and then smoke roasted.
I had everything prepped and ready to be cooked for this dish with the exception of the rice. Instead, I riced some cauliflower and my wife finished up the dish! My wife doesn't like peppers so instead, she roasted up a potato and topped it with the meat and cheese! It all came out amazingly delicious! Thanks for the awesome recipe!
Tip Mexican oregano would be a great substitute for the Italian oregano. I would remove the skins by roasting. I would also make my own salsa. I can’t wait to try
Hello friend!.. First of all, u are an amazing Chef who knows how to cook what I really would want to eat for the rest of my life to stay healthy!...Secondly,,,I just looove spice on any food that I want to eat!..Lastly,,,I love the way you cook it by just BAKING IT instead of DEEP FRYING IT, which is, so unhealthy for everyone. I really love Beef Stuffed Poblano Peppers!.. Thank u so much for being a good blessing to me and to everyone else out there who have been longing for a DELICIOUS and HEALTHY food to eat for the rest of their lives.
Very interesting. Being from deep south Texas on the border with Mexico I've always used the Poblano pepper for Chili Relleno but I'll give this a try. Thanks!
We are overly blessed with the Poblano Pepper. I have no idea how that happened, the tags on the plants said Jalapeño none the less we're blessed and have never had them. Tomorrow I'll harvest a few and this is what's for dinner tomorrow. Thank you for such an entertaining way to prepare my huge mystery peppers. P.S. We have never eaten Poblano Peppers so this will be a treat.
I love these videos. And Chef Michael is my favorite. But from all the cooking videos I've watched on YT, I've discovered that a second bite really finishes a video. And not just a second bite, but visible eagerness to have a second bite. Taking one bite and saying, "oh, that's good," is telling. I need you to SHOW ME how good your recipe is.
Oh it turned out so good. Except I totally forgot to get the chipotle peppers and the salsa. I was glad I had some Ro-Tel so it turned out pretty good.
@@CertifiedAngusBeefTestKitchen - We enjoyed it very much. I think if I were to do it again, I might pre-roast the peppers a little by themselves say for 15 minutes or so, then throw in the beef / crumble for another 15 minutes, then add the cheese in the last few minutes. The Beyond Meat was as good as beef - so it makes for an EZ meat alt food. Normally I would have used Vegan cheeze, but my girlfriend and her daughter aren't crazy about it so I used real cheese.
My first time using these peppers and decided to try a USDA Angus ground beef 93% lean. Great video! What about the skin? Do you eat the Poblano skin also? Because some recipies peel the skin off before earing.
I cut a few bell peppers laid them on the side and filled them with ground turkey, tomatoes sauce, shredded cheese (pizza blend) and topped with sliced black olives and pepperonis and I made a stuffed bell pepper pizza
First off, Chef, Thank You for such an amazing yet simple dish, and extremely helpful video for anyone to follow and create at home. Secondly, I would like for any other chefs/hosts/TH-cam "How To" video makers to take notes on this video. In particular take notice as to how very informative & step by step informative this video is. A lot of times I watch a cooking video where the host leaves off key details like cook time/temperature, or even specifics on ingredients or proper introduction of the ingredients. This video has it all covered and is a perfect example of a "How To" video. Cheers!
Followed most of your recipe except that I put extra Chipotle peppers, used a homemade Chile Guajillos salsa, and used Mexican rice. Great combo of ingredients!!!
Hey there chef! I'm super curious, what does your audio set up look like? Do you use a lav mic, or do you have a different kind of mic, such as a condenser mic, channeled directly into the camera or your computer? I'm working on improving my audio and yours sounds great. I appreciate any advice!
The plate is empty. It's just the color and glaze of the plate itself. I was looking at it, too, and thinking that there was liquid on there until he put the pepper on for the taste test.
Simple basic foods, easy to prepare, reasonably inexpensive... cut the cheese in half and serve with 2 or 3 side dishes of vegetables and its even nutritionally sound.
Criminally underviewed. This is a fantastic recipe
Thanks, Shane! Appreciate it very much.
My poblano plant put out the most gorgeous chilis this year, LOTS of them--will have to try this.
Sounds great! We hope you enjoy!
Nice.

Wonderful! So glad you are enjoying the recipe!
did the outer skin get soft?
When do you plant the poblano pepper. I just got introduced to this pepper and want some for my garden

I love that it's not breaded and fried YUM!
I just found a store that has these all the time, these are my new go to. Great recipe!
Glad you like them!

Love that!

Looks great! What is the red sauce on the plate when you put the finished stuffed pepper on it?
It does look like its in a sauce, but actually that is the color of the glaze on the ceramic plate :)
@@CertifiedAngusBeefTestKitchen fooled me too 👍
Thank you for the great recipe. I will try!
Bro your helper is on point!!!

Perfect for cold rainy Saturday to watch LSU!!
Turned out great! Making it again!
We are pleased you had a great experience!
Good Video. I used it about a year ago and have vacillated with Italiano and TexMex variants since. Thank you! Keep on Cookin'
Cap'n Tony
Poblanos are my favorite pepper! Definitely gonna try this.
What is the sauce that you show how it’s plated with for eating?? I’ve already looked at the recipe below and the link. I can’t find it anywhere!
I could be wrong, but I believe that is just the coloration of the plate. There is no sauce on the plate.
That looks delicious! I make a similar dish, using a small chuck roast instead of ground beef.
This looks like a great recipe for parties , you can make them up and wait to bake right before the party! Thanks for a great recipe😊
Can't wait to try this
Hope you enjoy
Making this for lunch today!
We hope it turns out amazing!
Tip Mexican oregano would be a great substitute for the Italian oregano. I would remove the skins by roasting. I would also make my own salsa. I can’t wait to try
Wonderful recipe!
Amazing dish. I don’t know problano but we have bell peppers here in Brazil. I will try it
Thanks for sharing this, this is a good change.
So tasty and yummy. Used a mix of wild and brown rice and it was perfect. Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful!
Looking for new recipes to cook came across this new recipe. Hope it taste as good as it looks. Thank you
We are glad you are here!
OMD. Wow. Got to grow these peppers
This recipe looks great! I think that I would add a little roasted or grilled corn to this dish.

I love poblanos peppers. The recipe looks very tasty 😋
I can’t wait to try it 😍
Just made the recioe but id like the recipe for the broth bed as well
Just made this tonight along with a poblano white cheddar soup. Oh my!
Nice!
I’m going to have to check out a recipe for poblano white cheddar soup!!! That sounds amazing!!! Great idea! Thanks so very much!
Gonna make this with corn and black beans added!
Thank you for the recipe
Can’t wait to try it. What was the liquid sauce on the dish before you plated the poblano?
you did the right thing going with more cheese to finish these off. when i saw the foil come out before they went into the oven the first time...
Love Poblanos! Gracias.
De nada

Thank you too!
Thumbs up I like watching your show it's very informative
I cooked this tonight & my husband said we need to keep this recipe & put it in our (dinner) rotation.
Great recipe!! Thanks
Hmmm good! Good presentation
Thank you!
Oh it turned out so good. Except I totally forgot to get the chipotle peppers and the salsa. I was glad I had some Ro-Tel so it turned out pretty good.
Thanks for letting us know!
Nice appetizer easy cheese and spinach. You could also Blanche the peppers quick 2-3 minutes in boiling water
I’m going to try your recipe. Looks delicious! Thanks. 😋👍🏽
Please do!
Thank you for showing that the poblano does NOT have to be peeled to be enjoyed!
You bet!
What is in the bowl that you put the finished pepper in? Tortilla soup?
It's just the plate. I wondered that for a long time but there's nothing there.
I cook the grease ou in the microwave...try it is amazing how MUCH WATER Walmart calls "hamburger "..😢
Found this by chance as I got some Poblano Peppers in my veggie subscription box. Going to try this with Beyond Beef or a veggie crumble instead!
Hope you enjoy the recipe! Let us know if we can help answer any questions :)

I tried this with ground turkey sausage since I didn’t have the beef. Thank you
Looks like a terrific recipe. But you never said what the liquid is in the serving plate???
Is the juice sauce on plate just from the saute pan or was it made?
Looks good
looks great!
Beautiful tester
My first time using these peppers and decided to try a USDA Angus ground beef 93% lean.
Great video!
What about the skin? Do you eat the Poblano skin also?
Because some recipies peel the skin off before earing.
When I cook these I don’t take off the skin and there’s no additional flavor or texture from it. Hope I helped.
My son was upset I didn’t make the Chile rellenos. But these were a great fix quick and easy substitute meal.
Great idea!! We are glad you enjoyed it!
I noticed that you didn't charge the peppers to scrape the skin off. Afterwards, is that a necessary step
Can you freeze the leftover stuffed poblanos?
TY, I like it.
I also like poblano/cheese tacos.
That sounds good too!
I’m gonna do this!!
Hi what oven temperature you roasted poblano peppers for 35-40 mins ? 325 F ? Or higher ?
Looks good. What is sauce.?
I cut a few bell peppers laid them on the side and filled them with ground turkey, tomatoes sauce, shredded cheese (pizza blend) and topped with sliced black olives and pepperonis and I made a stuffed bell pepper pizza

I don’t know how this came in my recommendation but I’m on my way to the store now.
Let us know how it turned out! :)
what is the juice
that the poblano was setting in?
adobo sauce
On video you put pepper in a sauce when done. What is sauce made of?
It does look like its in a sauce, but actually that is the color of the glaze on the ceramic plate :)
Don’t you have to blanch them first to get tough outer skin off first on a pablano?
How can I make this for 2 people
Followed most of your recipe except that I put extra Chipotle peppers, used a homemade Chile Guajillos salsa, and used Mexican rice. Great combo of ingredients!!!
I usually blister and peel the poblanos before stuffing. Good to know I can skip that step!
You can skip that step, but you will miss out on a lot of that roasted flavor.

Hello! Specifically we use the Sennheiser E W 100 G3. It is a wireless pack system.
Why packaged cheese and canned salsa instead of grating and home made salsa?
What liquid was in bowl?
Did you skin the pepper?
If Poblanos are involved, I'm all in.... This will be a good venison recipe for me...
O De Lau...Yummy in the TUMMY
All over this 1 ... Ty
What is the sauce on the plate?
I hate bell peppers of any sort, but I love poblano peppers. Weird. Going to try this recipe.
Did I miss what the juicy stuff is on the plate??
The plate is empty. It's just the color and glaze of the plate itself. I was looking at it, too, and thinking that there was liquid on there until he put the pepper on for the taste test.
Imma do it
I like it!!
Chilles poblanos look good, I probably try to make them skipping and the eggs.
Enjoy!
What liquid do you put the pepper in on the plate?
That is actually a fancy design on the plate. Sorry for the confusion!
Chipotles are actually jalapeños in adobo.
Simple basic foods, easy to prepare, reasonably inexpensive... cut the cheese in half and serve with 2 or 3 side dishes of vegetables and its even nutritionally sound.
Very true!
Stuffed poblanos are good eating.
Yum yum
Right now the poblano peppers were on sell at the grocery store. Now i know what to do with the ones I bought.
Is there no need to de skin those peppers ?
Nope, you can cook and enjoy :)
