    great vid, the only thing i can recommend is, when working that close to a black car, consider tossing an old comforter or blanket on it. never know when something metal will go flying in a garage under torque. Nice to see an old four eyes get some love, I still have my 1986 GT.

      Amen Ruben....Ive noticed this myself (the sheer loyalty) and the main reason why I keep making these videos for you guys. Hell to me 6500 people is a LOT of freaking people lol. Blows my mind to think that many folks want to hear me blab and watch me work on my car. Pretty cool if you ask me. But, really really appreciate the comment, good to hear this everyone on a while just to reiterate the purpose of what I'm doing. Thanks again man,

      @@HOUSEOFDULA Anytime brother! I'm in the process of doing a resto-mod on a black 82 GT with T-tops. My living room is piled high with "LMR" boxes. lol My first car was a maroon 82GT back in 1985. I was fifteen and couldn't drive it until I got my license, so it just sat in the driveway for a few months. (momma) I got tired of drooling over it and was dying to take it for a test spin, so I snuck it out one day and didn't notice it needed gas. I was barefooted and in cutoffs only on a hot summer Alabama day, rough blacktop pavement and about 3/4 mile from the house. I had to push the damn thing home by myself and my feet were raw and on fire for days after, let me tell you! haha I've owned all three factory colors of the 82 and I had a black 82 GLX with T-tops and also an 81 2 door sedan that was a POS daily. Needless to say, I have a strong affinity for four-eyed Foxes. Good luck dialing this car in, I've watched you work hard to get where you are and again I want to thank you for your informative videos and sharing your time and knowledge with other enthusiasts like myself. Thanks, Mike!

      @@DanCantone - Man...You are a 4-eye enthusiast! How cool to have had one back being only 15. I would have loved that at that age. AND the story about pushing i home barefoot on hot blacktop is classic! Bet you learned your lesson....When sneaking the car out, wear SHOES! At 15 I too had my car but was forced to sit and look at it till I turned 16. HOrrible idea. I couldnt help myself and snuck that car out multiple times.

    Once you guys get your timing map set and all that done and calibrated everything you should just put on Auto-Tune and start driving it... ease into it.... ease into it a little harder and a little harder. Then turn up the boost. turning it up Flash the ECU. hopefully you don't blow a head gasket. I've tuned many megasquirt but never microsquirt but the software looks the same if your tuning cars all the time you should have Auto-Tune.

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im running 8 psi. Used a lot of datalogging and VE analyze to make sure the map is good. I used auto-tune as well in the cruise areas to dial in my map. Really cool software.

    Love the car, great build. IMO, ditch the 3.73s for some 3.27s or something in that range, especially once you get in the 10-12lbs of range. One of my buddies has an SN95 manual car with your standard H/C/I build with a single turbo. Running 12lbs of boost, 1st gear was useless. The gear was so short that not only did you not even make boost in 1st, you pretty much instantly had to hit 2nd gear as soon as you put your foot into it. You may loose a little bit at the track with the longer gears, but on the street the car was so much more fun and the power was much more usable with the longer gears. I don't remember exactly what gear he put into it, I think it some weird ratio in the 3.40s , but personally I love longer gears on street with boost or nitrous.

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I cant agree more. The 3.73 as you can see is just constant shifting. 1st is a joke and in these, two I actually laid laid rubber was 2nd gear starts. I was thinking 3.27's as well...and sometimes wonder for a 3.00 would feel. Appreciate you pointing this out, its been on my list for sure. This can breaks loose in all gears up to and sometimes 4th when in boost.

    The MS should have a separate standalone wideband O2 on the Ecu correct?

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not built in, like it doens come with one, but supports wideband and narrowband. Has an extra wire labeled "wibeband" you just hook the output of your wideband to it. Its Serial input wire, luckily my AEM wideband and gauge had a serial output, just what the ECU needed.

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will, no doubt. Just from sheer power increase, heat in cylinders, blowby etc...I think its critical to change the oil much more frequently. Im running Mobile 1 10w30 now.

    I have an 88 gt with a 302 built by Phoenix engines, it's a carb motor and I just ordered an on3 turbo for it, this is my first time messing with a turbo but I'm told its easier to boost a carb motor cause of the tuning, any pointers?

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool man! Will be a blast. This was my first go around with a turbo. Watch DonnyB's install, LMRs, Justin91lx and Eric the car guy....All great install vids, with all these I think I had everything I needed to tackle it. I dont know if carb is easier, depends on the person, and familirity with Fuel injection. You have full control of fuel, timing, and saffety nets with fuel injection. But carb will work just fine man! Just need a boost referenced fuel regulator and ignition system, to retard timing at boost (depending on how much psi) and a carb BUILT FOR boost. This as you likely know is critical...Tips installing, use anti-sieze on all the V-bamd clamps. On the V itself to help it slip over the flange and on the rod threads to help keep the nut from binding when tightening. That and use a layer of copper RTV on all the mating surfaces. Ive had to pull almost all joints to add this stuff...the tinyest leak drives me nuts lol

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No sir. First before On3 I converted it to MAF (I have vidoes on all this as well) then with the Turbo I went this Microsquirt, with factory ford ECU harness. This gets rid of MAF and back to speed density. Truly plug in, hook up MAP sensor, plug in microsquirt and start tuning.
