    The part requiring the most time and patience to clean on a dirt bike is the frame. But it also happens to be the most rewarding, seeing the incredible transformation one can put it through with the proper supplies. So excited to see these CR250 parts looking new again!

    I just did my KX 250 F frame last night using Comet cleanser and Eagle wading aluminum polish in a rubber tub in front of a wood stove (I’m in the Colorado mountains and it’s snowing). The bike needed a top end so being somewhat ocd I took it down to the frame. I bought it used but it is super clean winter project.

    I believe these aluminum frames have a coating to prevent oxidization. Taking it off might cause some oxidization but if you keep it shiny and nice you shouldnt have any issues and it will just get a bit dull over time. I buffed my main down frame tube under the gas tank on my 07 CRF 450R and never saw any issues

    A handwelded coney pipe that is build on the dyno for the spec's of your cr, so you get max. torque and hp out of it. Or a nice works pipe would be awesome with a carbon muffler from Scalvini or BUD racing. =) Also a full DOMA / messico exhaust is quiet good, they result in useable power @ almost everywhere in the powerband. PS it would also be awesome if you did some porting on the cylinder and some work on the head, with different domes etc. and did some blue-printing on the cases, for more internal flow and power. It's a bike with a lot of potential, I've seen a few nice builds on the internet with some trick parts like Lectron carb's and v-force 3 reeds etc. getting massive results. Anyway good luck with your build!

    I have an important question as I am taking appart my 2009 crf 450 and trying to clean up everything like you. Doesn't it remove the nickel (or other surface treatment) that the frame has by using Scotch brite on it ? Will it corode quicker ?

    • @hampusj6047
      @hampusj6047 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the frame part right next to ur boot is gonna look worse than before u used the scotch bright after just 1 session of riding and all the other parts you are gonna be able to scratch with ur fingernail. After every wash ur gonna need to spend at least 15min scrubbing down the scuffed up surface the aluminum also stains much easier so ur gonna have to scrub of that too once in a while, not worth it looks like complete shit after the first session, And thx for ruining my tm125 frame Cameron
