- i finally got my greedy little hands on the spo xs case by beatmakersboutique. i liked the mpo-xs ones very much, but the slits for seeing the red sequencer lights blinking were a bit hard for me to see sometimes. the pads feel great, but when i just looked at it from a specific angle, i could not clearly see what was active / playing etc. so. the new one, the spo xs, has almost clear pads - you see very nicely what is going on and the pads feel great too!
they are a bit harder and not that chunky/squishy like those on the mpo but very soft and "clicky" responsive.
i think i will upload soon a new video about all the cases i own and the pro/cons.
if you dont wanna annoy anybody and play with headphones, the most silent case is, i think, still the original teenage engineering silicone one. they are just dead-silent to play.
oh, and i just wanted to say i LOVE the pocket operator office to play along with some beats. it just adds up nicely, all those glitchy sounds and noises, so much character! will make more beats with it.

The thing I love about this smol beats setup is the workflow appeal. Just turn on the devices, load your samples in and start making beats!!!!! I would love a setup like this where I don’t have to worry about having a DAW with various plugins, looking for files, etc….
did you ever check out this awesome koala sampler app? i`m totally in love with it atm and will make a bunch of videos about it soon - its really great and incredible cheap - with all updates (samurai and mixer upgrade) its maybe about ~10-15bucks? _totally_ worth every cent. its bonkers. absolute bonkers. i even made a samplepack for it, will show up here also soon, but the build in samples are also plenty and cool. you can even sample videos, oh god, its soooo good!
Just bought it and having fun with it! Easy to use and gets my ideas onto the pad quickly. Just gotta find a way to sample vinyl onto it.
I have a MPC studio black which I bought years ago that came with the MPC daw but I lost those files so now it’s just sitting in my closet… been thinking about doing a similar setup to yours with a numark pt-01, an akai mini keyboard and some sampler/sequencer but not sure if I should find a different use for my MPC studio or get the PO-33. My goal is to have a setup that I can turn on and play without spending too much time loading things up!
there are cool USB Audio interfaces, i struggled with the same problem = if you use Android, like me, you have to use a USB c Adapter with ends with an headphone and Mic input. costs maybe 9€

a breakdown on how to use it? you mean like a tutorial or a video where i show/tell how its operating / about its functions? hm. i could do that, yeah, why not? i think there are already videos out there but, i guess, not much - its really not complicated: you have like 2 channels and folders - one for the samples/cuts and one for the beats. you can stop/play the beats and cuts seperately. you also can use the plate like "off" so no sound is happening until you push/move the plate, or emulate the plate "running", so the cuts are playing and if you hold the plate, the sound is stopping - the beats will play through, still.
