Big BAITS and HUGE Mistakes (Beach Surf Fishing)

- Fishing some big baits on the beach we made some huge mistakes. Surf fishing for some beach monsters proved to be a very difficult adventure, but we did find plenty of action. We found some nice spansih mackerels to use as live and dead bait, as well as bluefish and jack crevalle. These surf fish work as great bait for many species including blacktip sharks. Hope you all enjoy this awesome day of beach and surf fishing.

Question, how long do you leave your baits out before changing them out?
That's why I Always bridle my bait so either the bait ripps off or stays on the hook! Also you won't have other fish tryin' to eat your bait off the line causin' it to break. Or you can mount a piece of PVC pipe, about 3 inch long, put a hole in the middle and put it Between your mono and your wire, it's gonna block any bait from slidin' up!
Thought you had to use mackerel whole since they're a game fish?

What size hooks are you using? I was thinking about doing some shark fishing in Florida so I would appreciate any tips (line?)
10/0 mustad circle hooks. 7/0 to 12/0 all work fine though.
