One of my sisters left this book behind after moving out. I am a beginner witch and no one was claiming it so I did because I figured I'd need to read a lot and I wouldn't have to pay for it. Thank you for this post because I haven't read it yet and now I won't.

For some reason I have been feeling like I need to burn books,I'm not quite sure why, it seems unamerican to me but this book seems like it needs to be in the pile. In your rant on your patreon in video format or is it typed out? If its video I'll try and be a patron so I can watch it. If it is typed I'll probably still try. The possible calling on demons isn't the worst thing but there are things you probably ned to learn before working with them. I would like to still skim through this book, without spending money, so I can make my own conclusion but it'll probably be a negative review.
Video 🥰 most extended discussions are written follow alongs as I write out my chaotic thoughts as I go (can’t always record but want to capture the thoughts somehow). There’s always two videos a month for the second lowest tier (lowest only has a shout out since people wanted that option), podcast monthly, and then weekly videos for the highest tier. I’d check your local library and see if they have a copy. Definitely don’t recommend getting a copy of this awful book 🤮
Catholic folk witch here, it’s not really uncommon for there to be Christina witches and some closed practices like Voodoo and Hoodoo do take elements of that religion to their practice. That being said, my issue with them using Christianity is they’re mashing it with different dieties and closed religions out there. Now, being polytheistic isn’t an issue since there’s a lot of ChristoPagans or those that take elements of paganism and Christianity to their practice. My issue is that not every witch follows the same religion so including that would make those who had religious trauma with Christianity uncomfortable. We literally have books for Christian witchcraft, so including that feels unnecessary. Also not every witch follows paganism either, it should had been for standards spells that are open or include history of witchcraft with credible sources. (Hell, the Christian witchcraft book I have did this and even states some practices are closed and to be careful with spiritual psychosis. So if that book can include sources and citation, I see no excuse this book shouldn’t too) But also, like you, my dislike for this book is mainly the cultural appropriation since that’s going to put MANY baby witches in danger. Witch tokers I follow had reviewed this book and talked about how it’s got so many of that stuff, but I’m not aware of the other creepy assault aspects of this. Thank you for making this video, and it’s scary that people actually just eat up shit in witchcraft books that don’t even credit sources of their information. And your right, this is the stereotype evangelicals would make about witches. I think people need to be wary of any witchcraft book since most of the time it’s Wiccan or new age based. This whole book screams Gerald Gardner and Alistar Crowley and I just cannot with those two for ruining witchcraft for others.

He’s a great starting point! Deborah Blake is also a good one as well. Both cover beginner and intermediate topics and have a pretty large collection of works. To really kick start though, his temple series is so far the absolute best to really get a good foundation

i got it at a yard sale for 50 cents. I think Witches are cool without the whole Cursing and summoning. i didn't hard read it but i only skimmed it. im not trying to curse or summon and i got somewhat creeped by it. this review killed the creepiness. I'm not going to play around with this book. it went from something maybe evil to now it's just a bad book.

My best friend gave this to me for Xmas… and I have no clue what to do with it …I understand she is not educated but I don’t want to hurt her feelings… I flipped it open went I got it and when the name Jesus Christ in the first pages were written I was like … thank you…. But thought this is bad 😞😞😞😞😞 and the pow-wow … … that was so messed up..
I’d politely hide it away personally or just toss it (wouldn’t donate this mess). If the person says anything, just a casual “oh it ended up not really being that good of a resource but I appreciate the effort” should suffice ❤️

They are very LGBT+ friendly and open about a lot of things and consider themselves woke. And I kindly asked them to not sell books that spread misinformation and nonsense. I said that an education person should take a look at the book and will see that the book is not up to part in any shape or form. When it come to the book itself I will destroy it in a machine or fire. When we throw stuff away in my country, people go through it and give what’s usable to thrift shops. Even cosmetics. I know this because I worked at two different thrift shops. Thank you so much for the good advice. I will definitely get rid of it. It’s not something I want in my house. If the book ever come up in a conversation I will let her know that the book is not good to have and it is very provocative and problematic.

Like I've found a spell in the witchcraft subreddit someone put up that calls on the deities of Luck from various campaigns of Dungeons and Dragons in a 'Dice Blessing Spell'... But from an outsider, the way they did that is kinda cute and fun sounding. Like "I want to incorporate this aspect of a game I enjoy playing into a spell to help me roll better so I enjoy playing the game more." it's cute. not some weird "oh yea, this is a thing now" that it does.
It’s likely not and seems to be more so Hollywood/Christian portrayal of Witchcraft. If it was folk magic, it’s so poorly portrayed that it’s still highly offensive to practically every culture (and most folk magic has their own names and not labeled under Witchcraft)
😢What is scary is the fact that if someone has a curious and reckless nature, they might just be pushed to read it now with this review. (New subscriber.....Just a realist too 😅)... They will think, "I to want form their my own opinion, (Reverse psycholgy and other vunerabilities), I was lucky to grow out of that dangerous mindset recently.
