LEGO Lord of the Rings BARAD-DUR 2024 News

Today I cover some news we've been hearing about more LEGO Lord of the Rings sets, specifically a set of Barad-Dur which is to release this year and continue these D2C releases for the line.
I'm feeling excited but exhausted. LEGO are regularly releasing sets I desire and things I’ve always dreamed of, the problem being the cost of things, something we don’t really consider when LEGO start answering our demands. I would like to see some more sets in an affordable range and we know its possible because the Indiana Jones line was one of my now all time favourite releases.
I want this because I love lord of the rings a lot but every time a really great sounding set like this appears, another gets bumped off my list. So goodbye Avengers tower and Dungeons and Dragons, lord of the rings means more to me but also, thankfully sets like this last years on markets. Daily Bugle is still on LEGO's site so this won’t be a day one purchase for me, they never are these days, rather slowly build up the savings then pick it up.

The minifigure selection here is superb. Sauron alone is enough to make me buy the set as we’ve all been dying to get him ever since Lego made LOTR sets.
Mouth of Sauron is the lieutenant of barad dur, so it makes perfect sense to have him in this set. He may only have been in the extended edition, but he is a part of the books and he’s an important part of Barad Dur.
The orcs are much needed minifigs, and I hope they don’t go too crazy with the printing so that they could fit in with the older orcs.
Nazgul, Frodo, Sam, and gollum are just bonuses.
Overall, while the minifigs may be less than Rivendell’s, the inclusion of Sauron alone makes up for the difference and we get much needed revamps of expensive characters like MoS

I believe that as we've never seen inside the tower, they might do a jurassic park gate type things with famous scenes in the building

Ah see, while this wouldn’t fit the theme of any other LEGO Middle Earth sets, I think I like this idea. It explains some of the figure inclusions and makes for a good representation of scenes that couldn’t be adapted into LEGO otherwise.

I literally bought Rivendell 3 days ago and there are so many sets at the moment including this one that I want D&D and the medieval town square hopefully I can get them all before they go

I’m in the same boat. Loooove the Dungeons and Dragons set a lot, it’s on my list but maybe something I pick up a few years down the line.
