Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see. 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed. The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures. Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come; 'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. When we've been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, We've no less days to sing God's praise Than when we'd first begun.
Yes, many Christians converted because of music. Countless more because a frothy sales pitch caught them at a vulnerable moment. Of course, they'd deny it because they wish to believe it was the "witness of the Holy Spirit." All evangelists, however, know (at least unconsciously) how critical emotional appeal is to their efforts.
“O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.”
Psalms 118:1 (KJV)
Grace, what a sweet word it is to my soul. Lord thank you for the grace abounding to the chief of sinners.
I am now free to wander the fields of freedom and to look forward to that eternal rest with the lord in heaven amen
All great hymns of the faith! Thank you for singing them!
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.
The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.
Through many dangers, toils, and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we'd first begun.
