They are fun, unless it's 5pm. I'm an old sailor, so I have my sea legs. But, some people might not want to stand on a rocking boat for 20 minutes. Plus, the diesel engine can get a little strong. Again, I like the smell. I'm an old sailboat guy. Many hundreds of hours in a dirty engine room.
Good one Joe, look forward to more of the off the beaten track videos, we are there in November for three months, you are giving us many interesting places to check out for some good times, common sense Chas.
Exactly this Foodland at Ladphrao 95 open 24/7. I live down the soi beside that Foodland. The nice location tho, with Ladphrao Hospital, Foodland, 2 banks at Ladphrao 99, skeptical food court back of the hospital, nightlife in Mahat Thai neighborhood, several shopping malls in Bangkapi 10 mins away, wet/fresh market at Ladphrao 101. Just comfortable at the best.
Is water calm? How stuffy is it during the summer to ride on those water taxi? I have a major motion sickness issue. Maybe you should do a video on water taxi: how to get there, get on and off and safety.
This was the water taxi video. It's probably not for you. You need to jump on and jump off fast. Maybe 10 seconds. No announcements, etc.. It's more for the locals. It can get rough. When other boats pass the boat rocks. Plus, it can smell like diesel. If you get motion sickness, I'd stick to the trains. It's a great way to get around town, but it can be a little harsh.
Another super helpful video EE. I walked past Asok Pier just yesterday on Asok Montri and it’s easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. Haven’t taken the water taxi yet but you’ve inspired me to check it out. Do you know the name of the water-taxi app you mentioned?
I don't know much about the app. I'm sitting with my girlfriend. She said it's called Via Bus. But, I'd just wait. Every 5 minutes a boat comes along. The last one is just after sunset. Thanks for watching
@@mattadonis My girlfriend said she uses it for buses only. She lives in Lat Phrao. So if the express AC bus is leaving in 3 minutes, she will jump on. If the app says 13 minutes she will take the Yellow Line
I will be vacationing in the bang kapi area. How do you let the conductor on the water taxi know what stop you getting off? If no english. What's the hours of the taxi? I'm from Chicago this will be something different
They pull in, and you are standing by the exit and jump off. No communication. Don't worry, that's a busy stop at the mall. Maybe a 60-second stop. The others are 5 seconds .
Thumbs up 👍 Joe
Thanks. More to come
I enjoyed taking the water taxis in Bangkok. They are a lot of fun

You're welcome
I'll have to take the ride up here. I've dont it around the tourist area canals. Great, cheap way to get around and see more local life.
Ya man, get on up there. You can take the new Yellow line to the mall and the water taxi back
I just researched this topic. You have to get off at the Golden Mount and get back on to get to get to the river. Plan to ride it next week!
Yes, you need to get off at the last stop near Khao San Road and get back on the Chao Phraya

Thanks for watching Chas. November weather is usually great

I need to get out and explore more. So much to see.

@@EagerExpat oddly enough I had that app installed but never actually used it (probably because it had ‘bus’ in its name). Game-changer. Thanks!

We are going to check out the horse races on the 7th.
That looks pretty good next Sunday. Hopefully it doesn't rain. My buddy and I might swing by the cheap seats.
@@EagerExpat 200 baht admission I read. Correct?
@@JAG72270 I haven't checked it out yet. I texted my buddy who went last year.

what APP are you referring to?
I never used it. I think it's in Thai. It shows when the 806 bus will arrive, etc..
