      @@wanderlustingwithjoe I just watched the video with your son and this is pretty much the exact itinerary we are doing, but we will be adding Chiang Mai as well. I love that you’re so descriptive as far as what stops to get off what kind of transportation to take for someone that’s never been these things are really. Try to navigate a new country by myself is always a little scary

      Chiang Mai is nice. Much more chill! Amazing temples! My advice is to try to absorb a few places, rather than stress and do it all- hopefully you have time to enjoy! My other videos will definitely help you? Ayutthaya? Kanchanaburi? Check them out? Koh Samet?

    A couple things worth mentioning. Probably best on a weekday, maybe late morning ish, when it's not crowded ( I don't know for certain, just a guess, as it can be very crowded on weekends). Also, that's a pretty long walk from Asoke BTS to the pier, good if you need the exercise, but just beware. Also, those boats are very loud if you're near the engine! Still, 12 Baht to go from Asoke to Pratunam, that's crazy cheap.

    Thank you for your video. I attempted this today. Unfortunately, I still got lost. so I am rewatching the video again now. You were right not too many people know about it even the Thai people. No one had a clue what I was talking about. I said the canal water taxi. The real water transportation. Anyway, it was getting late and I was talking with a Thai man and he said it would be too late to go as it would stop running and not come back.
    Do you happen to know when the water taxi stops running?
    I thought I would attempt it again tomorrow. I think my problem was instead of continuing walking straight because I passed the famous Soi cowboy etc,,, after a while I asked a girl and she told me to take a left. After watching the video I saw it was too soon as I never did cross a bridge or see the canal. Also around 3:58 in the video, you say this is the view of the Asok pier but didn't really make it clear if you walked right into it or if you took another left for a right, or if there is a sign to follow.? You just ended up there after the walk. I'm not sure if you will get this on time or not but either way I am going to try again. Wish me luck. Leaving Bangkok in a couple days. thanks, I really enjoyed the video. Hope I make it to the Artist's house as well.

      He Debby, if you passed the Soi Cowboy you just keep walking until you pass over the canal bridge. It is not a tourist attraction and therefore little signage. Here is a Google maps link: maps.app.goo.gl/boRWcd3EJh123GodA?g_st=ic

      * Blue Flag (Tourist Boat)
      * Stops at various points as you please
      * Runs daily from 9am to 7pm
      * Costs around 40 baht/trip or 100 baht for an all-day pass
      * This service operates between Nonthaburi in the far north of Bangkok to Sathorn Central Pier from 7am to 6.25pm. The all-day pass offers unlimited trips. English speaking staff will call out every stop clearly over a microphone and ask if anyone wants to alight at that stop. If there are no passengers to get on or off the boat, it won't stop. In between stops, staff explain the sights lining the river on either side.

    As fast as the metro, much cheaper, no need for air conditioning (it's cool as it should be with the wind and the canal) My favorite mode.
    His boats are real torpedoes, move super fast.
    There is not only one canal, there are also canals with electric boats, totally free but a little slow. (There is one in the Muslim district between the mosques (min burie) and another in old Bangkok between the temples.
    The central station of Klong sein seap is in pratunam, to the east there are two lines. One to the east goes to Bang Kapi (to The mall bangkapi for example) The other to the west goes to the historic center of Bangkok, and to Wat saket (Golden mountain) and the Temple of Thai boxing, the Rajadamnern Stadium. The price is from memory between 18 and 22b
    1$ is 33bath (it is very economical compared to the metro)

      the faults of the canal boat (the noise of the engine (tiring on long trips (Prathum nam => Bang kapi = 50 minutes)
      the smell of the canal also at certain seasons and certain places
      (although a major cleaning operation of the canal was done and it stinks much less today, some parts still smell a little bad all the same)
      Despite all this remains by far my favorite mode of transport here
      I even prefer it to the boat on the Chao Phraya River which I find less fast)

    Fun, fast, and cheap, but you can get a painful strep throat from the sewer water spray. Consider sitting in a dry spot on the boat, wearing a face mask and sunglasses, keep your mouth closed, and use a large amount of mouthwash right after.

      Last week I saw kids fishing. Last month I passed 4 boys swimming in the canal… I am not sure I would do that, but the canals are definitely becoming cleaner and Bangkok is working to improve them. The plastic splash guards prevent water from coming inside and I have not experienced any concerns recently…
      In fact I just finished part two of the water taxi series today… I don’t feel any more danger in a water taxi than on a Bangkok street! 😂😂😂. Enjoy!👍
