We discovered campfire curriculum last year. The the square foot gardening and are now into the veterinarian unit. Love both. We are doing it also just once a week on Fridays

Been doing FUN Friday's for years. It's a great blessing to our year. We have a light day, directed learning and electives.
Thanks for sharing this curriculum. I checked it out and loving it. This will be a great addition to our homeschooling that my husband can do on his daddy day. We take one day a week, Wednesday, for our children to spend a day just doing their reading and having hands on skills day with my husband. This way he has a part in homeschooling and I get a day to do the many things on the homestead.

We love campfire curriculums! We've done a couple of units... and we are doing the Thanksgiving Unit and Storm Chaser unit ❤️
We’ve been using these units for over a year now and have enjoyed them! My middle schooler is using one as an elective this year and we have a few others we are using along with out core curriculum. They are great for teaching co-op classes too!

We get one day during the school days as a our "flex day." It's flexible for projects, field trips, library, whatever we might want to fit into the week that isn't part of our typical school day.

Thank you for this video! I’d found the military unit over the summer and wanted to use it next year, but could not find where I’d saved it! You saved me so much time searching and since were in the middle of a move, a cannot thank you enough!
Campfire curriculums is great! A few years ago I studied Advent with my boys. Now my 7th grader is enjoying Volcanology. I plan on purchasing more in the future. Just enough without being overwhelming.
We’re doing meteorology and Volcanology this year. I’m also looking at the Thanksgiving units too.

We made this change to our homeschool last year and it was truly the best thing we ever did! We use Gather Round units, so it was so much fun to reserve that day for fun activities or crafts to go along with our unit, field trips, movies or documentaries, or just a "catch up day"!

We are working on this unit also! I love Campfire Curriculum! This is our third unit. We’ve done Volcanoes and the Vet one.
We love Campfire Curriculum because it is Veteran Owned and we believe in their statement of faith. Their Military Unit is very well done ( would you expect anything less than that, no) We also enjoyed Through the eyes of a Veterinarian.

We love our Fridays we do a loop schedule that keeps things light and varied!!
I made the same change this year! Our light day is Monday. It’s been so nice, we get a good amount of work in but it’s some different things that aren’t as rigorous in most instances.

This year for our 5th day we are doing TGTB safety and then we will do the maturation unit but next year I have it planned to use this Titanic unit! It looks so good! I also want to do their military one because my oldest is so interested in the military

So cool! This is how I do it as well. Used to do 4 days, now do 4 days full school and a light day Friday.

Great Info - Thanks. I can't remember who I was watching that recommended a "safe" website/channel for documentaries. If that was you or if you know of a place, can you please share? My kids love to watch them but some aren't so appropriate.
I’m so glad you found this company. I’m using it for highschool also and just did a super in depth look into the natural medicine one on my page. I’m loving the core connections! I’m loving all of the faith talks. I love that you can use it all and go all in or just skim the surface. You’re right, this stuff is so awesome. I’m also planning on doing the veterinarian one, the bee keeper, maybe the gardening one, and definitely the military one this year. I’m totally sold on their philosophy.

Yes! We did this exact thing this year. Fridays if we don’t have co op we do at least math and LA that’s it. If we miss another day during the week we may exchange it with Friday. Most of my high schooler work can be condensed into 4 days. It makes such a difference.

I'm glad you shared this because I've often wondered if it would fit well into a high school day. Using it once a week, how many weeks do you anticipate the unit taking?
We kinda do a “fun” Friday in our tween/teen homeschool day. We twist up the subjects a bit (safety unit, life skills,etc.) like she mentioned in this video for about 45 minutes so it doesn’t hinder the rest of the day. All my kids enjoy the Friday subjects.

We are using the "Skills of a Professional Chef" unit in our co-op this year!

We do something similar, and it's amazing!
We love Campfire Curriculums, too. The last few years we enjoyed many different units that we worked on 1x a week as a family. This year, it just wasn’t in our budget, so for the time being we are schooling four days a week and taking the fifth day as a day of rest so we don’t get burned out. At least until more units are in the budget.
my daughter would love the chef unit from campfire curriculum. I may have to look into that for next year. I'm guessing "full digital" means you have to print it yourself?
It's set up as an option to print yourself or use on a phone, tablet, etc... We use ours fully digital mainly; so it's easier to do school wherever we feel for the day 😉
When your kids were in elementary levels only doing the 4 day a week, was there anything special or specific you would do on Fridays?

I have littles and that’s the one day a week we lay off of book work to do review & do cool projects, art, library trips, a fun breakfast (that has included sprinkles- all the fun), etc! I’m looking forward to what ideas you may give out and I find it a little note from God that we just had our first fun Friday last Friday and now you’re sharing this message! I bet you may wish you did whatever you’re doing sooner, huh?! Lol

If you don’t remember - like I didn’t- there is a pretty graphic sex scene in titanic of course the part with rose being naked too.. so idk if you’d want your kids take watch it..
Came in tv a few weeks ago, me and my husband watched it and realized how bad it really was
I first watched it with my dad and he forwarded all those parts. If I watch it as an adult I still forward all those parts.
Just an option for making the movie PG.
Maybe clear play or another filter would work on this?

I wish they made more movies kid friendly. My boys are obsessed with the titanic and it's annoying that they can't see that movie because of some of the content 😑 Why does every movie that's "good" have to contain cuss words and nudity...
Because Hollywood entertainments sole purpose is to cause harm. Period.
