You're not in california, and you're not paying a joiner to do it and pretending it's all your own work. Don't beat yourself up, it's your work and it's your home. It's a great start. A real van lifers van. We'll played.

Good job on using the original wood panels which is what I did in my transit connect, but a top tip for painting the thin ply panels is to paint both the inside and outside off panel with primer stops the panel warping when you top coat the outer face off the panel

Hi there only just seen your videos on TH-cam, I also live in a van and converted it myself, a little tip when it comes to your lino for the future, remove ya panels from van, lay your lino upside down with panels on top and cut round, then you can put panels back in van and apply your lino with spray glue & its already cut to size, also expanding foam for your insulation, it's really good for getting in all the knocks and crannies 🚐🤟x

Whenever I've done van builds, I go down to the big shops or retail parks and pickup a lot of cardboard. They often leave it out, or happy to give to you often. Then I just gaffer tape sections together, and trim them up with scissors and craft knife as I'm figuring out layouts, to make templates before I cut any wood or timber. It's also worth having a few cans of trimfix around for sticking down odd bits of insulation, foil, carpeting, etc., Ikea's ex-demo sale section is a good place to get cheap cabinets and units. Looking forward to seeing the end result now you've got so much space after the Kangoo.

I have the same van. In the back corners inside the walls just below floor level there is a hole about 20mm fitted with a rubber grommet. I used one of there holes as an air vent. Remove the rubber grommet and fit a 40mm 12v cpu fan over the hole to extract air from the cabin. This will draw fresh air from the front for ventilation and also reduce fogging up the wind screen. I put a speed control on the fan too. My front windows have weather shields so I can open the windows slightly for air to flow in, keeping rain out.

Being a mobile mechanic and a keen diy'er I'm pretty good on the tools and problem solving but you only get really skilled by experience and the failures are your harsh best freind for getting that lesson sunk in! Even us experts get it wrong from time to time, even monkeys fall out of trees! Think you have done a grand job, keep it up.

I haven't even started to live in a van - a month in a car . But i am hands down the happiest i have ever been in my life. Which is insane considering that i used to live in a decent four bed house.
I am eyeballing vivaro at the moment. Can you share any van build related resources ?

I have not seen the way you done the lino before and it was brilliant and worked well. Little was cut from the new panel, so as you say that can do the rest of it. Coming along really good and that's the worst of it done now.
