Interesting. There is a Mitsuwa Marketplace in Suburb of Chicago called Schaumburg somewhat close to Woodfield Mall. Its been there for over 20 years way before Asian Grocery Chains like HMart became popular.

Aloha bradda and me sista! Thanks for this video. Just went there today 4/5. I wanted to chk out the bookstore get some lil things for my glamBeBes Easter 🐣 baskets.
😮😮😮 that place is 'ssspensive!! I have 5 baskets to fill hahahahaha. I did walk away with a couple of Kauai Kookies annnddd a tin of my fave not so cheap cookies Yoku Moku. So happy they have them cuz for the longest, you can only order on-line from Neiman or Saks 5th... yup, not cheap, but yummm.
ps.. guess what's for dinner Lisa?? Oxtail soup from Kings!! Just down da st. 😋

I don't get it. Can you explain the intro joke in full detail please? Is that like when you drop the bar of soap in jail?
We have a Mitsuwa a short ride NW from Chicago. 90% of the time I get the Santoku Ramen (menu item #3) and the premade sushi. The other 10% Chicken Katsu. Really hard to get a food court table during weekends. Mitsuwa is so clean, aesthetic, and attention to detail. Even the way they slice the fish and meat is beautiful. Quality>quantity. Samanco is my fave! I have that Katsu sauce in my fridge!

    • @billandlisa

Another great video!! ❤ I remember the mitsuwa on western and Carson Street when I worked at sundrider next door and we would stop in there at lunch time. I've been to the new location at dwl amo mall once when it first opened but after seeing your video, I didn't know there was a bakery to buy croissants and sweets so I will go back and check it out. The gift shop looked fun to spend hours in but I could spend hours at the abc store too!! 😂😂😂 thanks for showing some of the grocery items and your ramen 😊😊😊😊😊 keep having fun ❤❤❤ out there !!!!!

Thank you for this great video! I was born in Japan, but haven’t been back in decades. I wish this market was closer to me, I’d go more often. I love spending time browsing at all the goodies and I end up buying way too many sweets. Lol! You make the curry the same way I do, half mild and half medium hot. Just the right amount of heat. Watching you two eat the yummy food has made me hungry. 😊

The “American size” drinks are actually available in Japan. They’re more like “family size” which you would buy and take it home to share (sort of like buying a 2 liter of soda) and drink out of a cup vs straight out of the bottle.
Also appreciate that Bill pronounced “udon” correctly (oooh-dou-n, not you-don 😅)

Sorry, can't translate the name. But, another viewer commented they get it off Amazon. It's a sukiyaki sauce. No recipe needed, just fry us some sukiyaki (or shabu shabu) beef with onions in the sauce, add you tofu and other vegs you like, and you're good.

Japanese food, esp sushi is the best food on earth! Korean hotdogs are tasty! There’s a mitsuwa in the Bay Area! I also love Japanese and Korean beauty products!
