It costs me around $25 to print high quality proxies at my local print center (and then sleeve them over lands).
Sure the sleeve costs aren't included in these lists, but it's impossible to beat that value for a deck of real cards
im glad i didnt traded my finale of devastation back when i first opened a war of the spark pack. Now i can use it for my gargos deck as a beautiful win condition
Tomer, you are KILLING IT man. I can't tell you how many people I've got to play magic because you have them a 25-50$ way into the game
Thank you!
Forgot to add, O.G. is beefy. It can survive a fight
As soon as I saw this card I knew I needed to make an EDH deck out of it. After seeing this video, I ordered the $25 dollar version ASAP! Can’t wait to play this deck in my playgroup
I love having more Tomer in my life
Damnit Tomer I don't need A FOURTEENTH EDH DECK!
Edward Burke almost every EDH deck I have are because of Tomer! You can’t keep doing this to my wallet!
@@mistercleff8819 This is the same for a nonzero number of my decks
I'm just happy people who make budget decks cause otherwise I'd probably never play magic on paper anyway
I love budget lists so much! But when is mono white going to get a bomb commander? 😣
crovax 13 Sram?
@@aspasia3 I don't think that Sram is on the same level as Urza, K'rrik, or Yawgmoth (just my opinion). To me the recent sets has really tipped the scales towards mono black and mono blue
Sephara Sky's Blade is pretty bonkers and dirt cheap.
@@flipt0s Sephara is fine, her ability to come out early and protect the board is good. But she doesn't provide any card advantage or ramp, and I feel that bomb commanders do one of those or both
Teshar is closest to Cedh that We'll get lmao
OH i would also like to put out there cause it never is done enough, but Frontier Siege for ramp. 3(G) choose khans and each mainphase you get GG, that has often let me leave open a lot of physical mana for target spells for 4 mana essentially every turn you get 4 mana. the thing is nooot used enough in mono green.
Would you ever consider uploading videos of your playtesting or deckbuilding? Besides always looking for more commander content, I struggle to trim my own lists. How bad does a card need to perform before it gets cut, how much better does a more expensive card need to be to upgrade, does a deck more lands than average, and other questions you might ask yourself while tightening up your decklists.
Honestly if a card is routinely being drawn and you wish it was something else, it’s probs right to cut it. Land count is based on curve (and fast mana access). A lot of these are pretty simple things you grasp with experience so keep at it.
Playtest footage is something I'd like to do. Deckbuilding wouldn't be helpful for me to show since it's just a byproduct of thorough research. I spend hours researching all card options for the deck, 90% through Scryfall and 10% through google searches / EDHREC / MagicalHacker / reddit / etc. After hours of research / writing, deckbuilding with the cards I already looked up takes like 10min. Then I try to get 2-3 playtest games on MTGO which is another 3-6 hours. Then tweaks and voila.
Just ordered all the peices for the $100 dollar version. Threw in a leyline and great henge and have only got 3 games in so far.
Finally I have something to do with my Foil Gargos
I've always had an irrational love for Hero of Leina Tower and this seems like a cool deck to run her in (even though she's only so-so)
More Tomer videos please
HAIL TOMER
Please make Tom proud and eat everyone else with this on commander clash ❤️
Hey Tomer, I know it's a light guide to be used when building a deck, but your guide accounts for roughly 75 cards of an EDH deck. What should I do with the other slots? I'm building a creature heavy simic proliferate deck, so my guess would be that I fill slots with good proliferate targets and synergies?
If anybody could give advice, that'd be great:)
The slides don't show all the cards in the deck. Check the video description for the complete deck lists.
@@tomerabramovici32 Thanks for the reply! I meant mt comment in terms for general deck lists when using your rough guide on how to assign cards to certain slots. Should this extra 25ish cards just be stuff that fits the theme of the deck? Is it all flexible space? Thanks!
@@anokosecret9963 Oh sorry I misunderstood! Yes, it's all flexible space to support your theme. So in your case it would be stuff like proliferate and other efficient ways to give counters to your creatures, like Hardened Scales and whatnot. The "Putting it Together" is more of a checklist: do I have a minimum of X? If not, then it might be a problem. But the rest of the slots are up to you!
@@tomerabramovici32 thanks a bunch! This Gargos list has been useful because I have some big ole' hydras as a sort of sub-theme and so finding card synergies has been great. I'm waiting on one more order of cards to arrive and then I've got some narrowing down to do - only have 6/7 slots left and 15 more cards arriving. Thanks for replying and clarifying, looking forward to the Eldraine list!
I just sleeved a version of my own Gargles deck lol, he performs REALLY well. still some cards and changes i need to make. Maybe you can help me get a good final number done!
GARGLES
The public needs more Tomer! More Kaldra! More Friendsss?
Wait, these comments haven’t been berating Tomer for misplaying. What happened?!
Can't misplay if there's no game footage!
Hey Tomer, is it worth adding Old Gnawbone? I know its has a powerful ability and will have some much mana to cast so many spells. Gargos will be happy to nom nom on anyone lol
I was surprised The Great Henge and Unbound Flourishing didn't make the cut.
When you cast Hunter's prowess (or any other of the target cards) on Gargos, doesn't Gargos' trigger go first? And only after Gargos fighted will Hunter's prowess resolve?
Correct. Gargos’s triggered ability resolves before the spell that caused it to trigger. It resolves even if that spell is countered.
I'm really enjoying this deck. What are your thoughts on Monstrous Onslaught? I know it's costly manawise, but it could be kind of a boardwipe for your opponents. You can deal 1 damage to Gargos itself, so it will even fight another creature! As always, thanks for the great content, Tomer
Budget Magic Best Magic.
I wonder why not gaea's touch?
It's in the article but with the sample lists actually dropping by a couple dollars each I can sneak them into the $50 and $100 lists!
@@tomerabramovici32 yea i find its quite cheap and benefits from mostly green
I like it tomer.
Cute build but all someone needs to do is counter/kill the commander :(
The deck will always be vulnerable to removal, but I tried my best to make sure Gargos and our other threats are protected. Autumn's Veil and Veil of Summer help with countermagic, along with Yeva to flash creatures in when the blue player is tapped. I've also added many ways to give our creatures hexproof and indestructible. If you keep a bit of mana up when casting threats you should be good!
no great henge? blasphemy
First?
