    Hi Rich, merry Christmas to you and yours. Well I’ve pretty much decided to move from a diode machine(XTool both 10w & 20w) to a co2. I’ve decided on Monport mostly because they are North America for support. Being retired and on a budget I am looking at the 60w 16”x24” machine. What are your thoughts?

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have four of them and I have nothing but good things to say. But you have to remember they're budget lasers! They may need a little tinkering from time to time. Don't forget to try my coupon! Rich&Monport. It might not work during the holiday sale, but they'll know you tried to use it.

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't understand the question. If you already have it setup on an IP, you simply add the IP in the device settings for Lightburn.

  • @TravisFlint1
    @TravisFlint1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    So im assuming it would be the same from a router... Just see the IP address the router assigned and set the RUIDA and Lightburn to the same.... Id always assign a fixed IP address in the router software...

    I have Xfinity with the XB3 router. I used the admin page in the router to view connected devices. The Monport is not showing. I confirmed that the ethernet cable is good by connecting another computer. I followed your instructions an set the IP address in Lightburn 1 number off of the address of my computer. I matched the IP setting in the Monport to the setting in Lightburn. I cannot control the laser from Lightburn. I was going to set a reserved IP in the router, but I need the MAC address of the laser. There seems to be no MAC address showing up in the IP config menu in the laser. I can't control the laser from Lightbrun.

When going into the command prompt, there is no IP address shown. It does say media disconnected. Does the ethernet cord need to be connected to the computer to the laser instead? My computer doesn't have this connection port for ethernet.

  • @danielloomis7992
    @danielloomis7992 ปีที่แล้ว

    One thing to remember is that if your router is dynamically assigning IP addresses on your network, the next higher number may have been assigned by the router. Also, if another device joins the network when the laser is offline, the router could assign the laser IP to that device.
    To prevent this, you need to use an IP scanner to see what addresses are in use before assigning one to the laser. Then, you need to go into the router setup and go to address reservation and set it so the desired laser IP is never assigned or used by any other device, otherwise you could end up with an IP conflict and it won’t work.

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, just keep the address high and it shouldn't be a problem Daniel; thanks for the tip!

    • @tommorrison4378
      @tommorrison4378 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Addresses in the 169.x.x.x scope are "self assigned" addresses. No router will use this scope (range of numbers).

      @@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I realize this is off-topic, but I don’t have time to locate the proper video to ask this question on because I’m organizing a semi trailer right now but my laser seems like it’s got a really thick pattern to it now. It’s just like my beam got extra wide And I don’t know how. I’ve only been using it for less than a year and I only use it once in a while. I’ve got my chiller hooked up to it. so when I was checking all of the different points to properly align everything once I got done, it was thicker and then I’ve got the curved side pointing up on the lens, but no matter what I do going up and down, I’m still getting the thick laser burn on everything. It’s just really confusing me.

    Wow, that controller doesn't support DHCP? 😱🤦🏼 For shame.
    Another option is to use Advanced IP Scanner. It'll give you a list of everything connected to your network and it's IP. Only thing is, the gateway may not be obvious (usually the lowest IP number though).

      @@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy it's good that there is more than one way to 'skin a cat'. I always advocate for people to use the way that works best for them.

      I like cats, but cats are (typically) jerks.

    Super erklärt Rich, und nein Dein Gehirn ist nicht kaputt, Du hast wahrscheinlich viel um die Ohren. So wird es sein, zuviel Informationen! Daher alles gut. Da sollten sich heutzutage jüngere Menschen mal davon eine Scheibe abschneiden!! Ich werde am Montag versuchen meine 2 Co² Laser über Ethernet anzuschließen. Danke schön noch einmal für Dein Video!! In dem Sinne schöne Grüße aus Deutschland!!! Frank

    I would like to inquire about the compatibility of the software with the ZY4311 platform.

      You would need to ask Lightburn: forum.lightburnsoftware.com/
