I just removed the resonator and the car now totally different in terms of sound. Now i can hear the growling sound and in same time its not irritating the public.
Sounds amazing! Easily the best mod for any pre-63 type AMG with muted exhaust sound like ours. I bet you wish you did it earlier and I can't believe it took 5 years of ownership for me to get around to it! Great video and great channel mate --Nick (aka Shude)
Great thanks, how are you? I wish I could say it feels like only yesterday I was driving a W202 bodykit down to meet you but honestly it feels like a lifetime ago! Good to see the modding is still going strong and your CLS looks awesome.
I did not pass today MOT with my W219 5.5, regardless of emission test...now you need to pass visual inspection....amazing...I as to mount it back for passing it...shit
@@killerhertzmercedes I just had the secondary cat's and resonator deleted and I'm actually pretty disappointed. Doesn't sound half as good as my straight piped e430. Going for back box delete too. Will let you know how it goes
where did you get this work done?! sounds awesome.. i have a 03 W215 CL55 AMG and want to get some work done but not sure who to go to... car is in NW London! thanks
@@dailydrivenamg2612 This is certainly not normal for the M113 engine !!! This engine can't make blue smoke on cold start !!! Worse follower engine M273 has these problems oil consumption and blue smoke not M113 !!! Blue smoke in the M113 engine means pressure loss and the performance of the engine is suitable for general overhaul ...
One second of blue smoke at cold start is nothing to worry about, on acceleration or any other time other than a cold start would be signs of problems. Max oil consumption on m113.98x/99x is up to 1.35 qt/ 1000 miles per MB, increased stroke and low-friction design are their reasons.
I have a 2011 CLS550, I did a rear muffler delete, it sounds very nice but your set up sounds so much better, Do you think if I add an X pipe I can achieve the same? Or do you suggest the cat delete also? I don't want it too loud, it is very nice and when I hit it she really wakes up. Thanks for the input.
@@killerhertzmercedes Secondary cat and res delete with x-pipe is done on my 2006 CLS55 today and it sounds great! Not too loud and no drone. I wouldn't have done it without your video and your input. Thank you so much once again.
Ok so I just confirmed that secondary catalyc converters were removed. But we’re the cats replaced with straight pipes or x pipe? And was the resonator replace with an x pipe?
Adrian Garcia they have the most 113 engine will are bullet proof The cls 63 adopted a different engine and people have had issues The 55 is the best engine ever on an amg
Very well put together, I have to say. Well presented. BUT...it has now put me off converting! The sound is too raw - bit "blingy" if you know what I mean.

Haha, that would have been around 2003-4...! - Pity we didnt have smart phones back then to record all the mods we did :D
I'm bidding on an SLK 55 AMG right now & after seeing this video, I'll definitely be doing a cat delete & adding the X-Pipe! Thanks for the video!
Did you win?
This was my plan and you confirmed it. Great minds think alike I guess.... cheers from the U.S.! Subbed👍
Sounds amazing , great informative video BTW ! just got a x pipe on mine but cant even tell unfortunately .
Thanks! Do you have a secondary Cats removed also?
KillerHERTZ - Mercedes Modifications not yet , geting it done Friday. After seeing your video had to make a appointment!

Hi. Just stumbled on this video. If you removed back boxes would it be too loud ?
Yeah, it would sound terrible.

Absoloutely sweeeeet!!!! Worried about California emission here.

Do you delete your mufflers with the tips go and the muffler in the middle
The Meza Family no, as I mentioned in the video the secondary cats and centre resonator.
Blue SMOKE from exhaust - engine heads K.O. ,,, What engine oil do you use? How kilometers?
Radoslav Krnáč it’s normal, all m113 engines throw a little blue smoke cold start

Which exhaust x pipe did you put on here? I ha e the same vehicle...
It was from a specialist down in Kent (UK) who make them in-house

I have his setup and it sounds brutal on the cls550 expecialy with the tune
Thanks for the video very helpful. Is this setup not too loud for a daily driver? Do you experience and drone at cruising speed. Thanks for sharing.
No droning at all :)
@@killerhertzmercedes Hope its not too loud for daily driving or city driving. I have an appointment to do mine tomorrow.
@@bbaye7252 only loud when you floor it, otherwise normal sound.

Hello, any drones on cabin ?
Non at all, amazing eh?

Jose Jair X-Pipe replaced both.
Nice video. I am about to buy one and i have a question. I've heard these cars don't use to have many problems. Is that true? Have you had any? Thanks

Hi, not at all in person. its only loud if you floor it. around town normal driving, it sounds no different.
Hey there,
how is the smell after doing this? :)
Still the same, the car has 4x cats :)
Does x pipe looses power (hp) or not ? I not sure to get one by my cls 350
makes no difference to engine performance
What do you mean by secondary cats removed? Do you mean that they will remove the catalyc converters?
There are 4 cats fitted but two are after the lambda probes and can Be removed without adversely affecting emissions or bringing the eml on.
🔥🔥🔥👏
Hey man what rear lights are those?
The Facelift lights, you need a module to get them to work.
Does this sound the same on the e55?
Yes if you have the Kompressor version.
yeah will sound much better that way, great video dude, like & sub from me!
MrFredCars cheers, thanks for your support!
