    Awesome stuff. I'm thinking of getting these for my E55.
    If you could post a video of a cold start, pull away with this setup that would be super! :)
    Doesn't seem to be any video of ARH headers with fully stock rest of exhaust.

    Hope the New Year is off to a great start. You have inspired me to perform the same upgrade on my CLS55 with 37K miles. Keeping everything else original. I do think it needs just a little more exhaust sound. Yours sounds just right not too much or not too little. Sounds perfect. Thanks for the awesome video. Have you done anything else to the car?

    • @rubjim2
      @rubjim2  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Greetings Johnny, Glad I could help inspire you . I have not done anything else to my car except preventive maintenance. I love driving it and still enjoy the way it sounds. The performance is better than before. Hopefully, you can post or send a video when you’ve completed the header project.. Stick with the quality headers. I chose American Racing headers because they are mandrel bent. They are not welded together in sections. Also, towards the end of the collector, there is a design that helps with laminar flow. Good luck.

    Installing mine tomorrow on my cls, but I don't have a lift so wish me luck, your underside of the car is super clean! The low mileage shows! Mine is at 153k so those nuts are gonna be almost seized on there for sure

    • @rubjim2

      Best of luck to you bro. Simply remain patient. Consider soaking the manifold nuts with a penetrating lube. Let me know your progress. Hopefully you can video document your experience.

    Hey Ruben please change that sc pulley and do the 77mm clutched. With a tune and the pulley you will be the happiest guy in the world. It makes HUGE difference and doesn’t raise the engine temperature you won’t need anything else.

    Congrats, sounds awesome. My MBH LT headers with x-pipe just arrived and will get installed on my CLS55 in a few weeks. Same plan..........bone stock except for LT headers and a tune to take advantage of their flow. More than enough power for a driver. Nice and quiet driving normally but lots of bark when you get your foot into it. Have fun with yours! I thought I was at low miles with 61K. WOW...you're is a baby.

    • @rubjim2
      @rubjim2  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mr. Snowford, Thanks for the compliments. I totally agree on not putting additional horse power mods on what is already a torque monster. I like MHB. They’re here local in the Phoenix Arizona area. The only reason I went with American Racing Headers is because I had a great experience with my 2014 pick up. Plus, they were at SEMA. I was able to purchase them from Nick the President of ARH. I’ll post my Dyno chart within the next couple of days along with a video of some drive-byes...

    Hey there!
    1 question: how domlongtube header compare to shorter ones, (so you kinda keep the cat part)

    • @rubjim2
      @rubjim2  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally couldn’t tell you. Based on the research I did, I always knew I wanted long tube headers because I did not want the restriction of a Cadillac converters. There are several TH-cam comparisons out there showing the difference between shorty headers and long tube headers. I recommend searching those out and perhaps talk to your local ECU tuner to help you decide. Keep in mind that regret is very expensive.

      Hello Michael, thank you for the compliment. I’m going to hang on to my factory exhaust. If you are still looking for some, I would check with tuning shops such as Dynocomp in Scottsdale and perhaps a shop who does this type of work on AMG’s. Good Luck.

    Hey Ruben where did you get the O2 sensor extensions

    • @rubjim2
      @rubjim2  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      American Racing Headers sent me the extensions. Since there where the wrong connections, I simply used the wire without the plugs and soldered them into the factory plugs using shrink wrap to insulate the raw exposed wire then wrapping them with flex loom. it was simple. I hope this helps.

    • @rubjim2
      @rubjim2  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello redbaron2448. You may be right. I don’t believe I there is anything out on TH-cam illustrating how to remove the factory manifold. I can assure you, it’s quite simple. Simply remove the nuts, and in my case all of the studs came out with them. I reused the studs with brand new factory nuts with the factory exhaust manifold gaskets for the installation of my long tube headers. I can send you a link to purchase an online factory repair manual that shows you how to do any service on your vehicle. It only cost me $23. No expiration. I hope this helps.

    Hello I am wondering if you would know if the installation of long tube headers would be different on a cls500. Also would the headers themselves be different because it’s a different engine? Any suggestions or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

    • @rubjim2
      @rubjim2  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would recommend contacting American racing headers. They would be able to tell you if the same headers would fit. In my professional opinion, they would fit. The only difference between our two engines and the car, mine is an AMG. Mine is an M113 K and you should be an M113. Contact them for professional assistance.

    I really really like what you've done! I've a very nice CLS55 with quite a bit more miles, and now that emissions tests are no longer required in Canada I've been considering doing what you've done. The sound is magnificent! My primary concerns were drone, doesn't appear to be any, the cost of the tune so that the engine light doesn't come on and detaching the old manifold with rusty bolts and tight spaces.
    Would it be rude of me to ask how much the tune is? I can't seem to get an honest answer from anyone, and I just don't like beginning a project before I properly cost it out.

    • @rubjim2
      @rubjim2  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Bob, Thank you for the comments and compliments. I strongly recommend long tube headers. No matter who you go with there’s a couple of great ones out there American racing headers is one of them. No drone whatsoever during normal driving. I have the factory mufflers still in the back. It’s worth the money to get quality headers. Another great brand is MHB long tube headers. They are out of Glendale Arizona. I had The ECU tuned so that’s more expensive. I would recommend just purchasing a euro charged tune for a long tube headers. That’ll be sufficient. They have been in business for a long time. Once you start getting into multiple high-performance modifications, such as pulley, headers, intercooler etc. you will want to have it Dyno tuned. I paid $1500 for an ECU tune and TCU tune. That included Dyno time as well.. Is it a lot of money? Heck yes! Is it worth it? Absolutely. It’s an old car. But, the M113 K engine is one bad mofo! Don’t think about it anymore, do it. Treat yourself. Your back tires won’t stand a chance anymore.

    can you please explain the use of wireing extensions for the rear o2 sensor beacose im stuck dont know how to fit them on my E55

    • @rubjim2
      @rubjim2  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Eno L. My headers came with O2 sensor extensions that did not fit on my AMG. As a result, I extended the stock O2 sensors wiring using the wires that came with my headers. However, any 12 to 14 gauge durable insulated copper automotive wire will work. Just make sure to match-up the wire polarizing soldering them together insulating the splices with heat shrink tube and add another jacket of flex loom. You’re finished. You now have your stock O2 sensors that are now extended so they will plug right in. This is all I did. After that, you will have to have the car tuned to eliminate the check engine light.

  • @acrepairnearme
    @acrepairnearme 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you still pass the smog check? Is there any check engine light? Did you do any software upgrade?

    • @rubjim2
      @rubjim2  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. I still pass emissions. No check engine light. I had the car tuned for the extra flow the M113K can produce now. The tune remaps the software to eliminate the any emission issues and adds the additional performance.

    Hi Ruben, where did you get the o2 sensor extensions from?

    • @rubjim2
      @rubjim2  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Terry, The O2 sensor extensions came with the ARH headers. However, the plugs were incorrect. So, I used the wires from the supplied extensions, cut them to the correct length and soldered them together extending my factory O2 sensor. For the finishing touch, I shrunk some heat tube around the joints and covered all the wires with flex loom. Looked perfect. I hope this helps.
