Air suspension components are no longer expensive to replace. They are quite easy to do since there are many DIY TH-cam videos showing how to fix.
I didn't do the conversion but the car was riding great. In the end though I'm just not the biggest fan of air suspension. But greatly noted if I ever buy a car with bad air suspension, I'll attempt to fix it myself.

I did not know they had CLS Wagons what the heck I'm gonna look that up right now! This is a must for the FIRST MOD ON YOUR CAR, well worth it, the difference in the exhaust note is night and day.

So far, I don’t drive the CLS everyday it’s just an extra car. I love everything about this setup. The more raw exhaust sound I can get out of my vehicles, the happier I am! This one came out amazing, everyone loves this car. 😅😎
What did you do to fix the drone?
It would be nice to install a cut off valve instead. That way the stock exhaust stays and and at the push of a button you can make it loud.
Hmmmm, I don't care to turn down my exhaust I like the sound 100%. HAHA
It sounds good!!!! I have 08 ClS550, think I may delete the mufflers first and see how I like it
Always do the mufflers first, don't chop off more than you are comfortable with at the start because then you can't ever turn back to factory welds etc. Do a little bit at a time, you'll be surprised what a muffle delete alone will sound like. Good luck.

I'm definitely going to own a newer bi-turbo CLS in the future, I'm also after a G Class Wagon, hopefully an S Class as well. I'm not much of a rover fan, I'm to into FJ Cruisers and G wagons lol, never been into Audis as well, always loved the Mercedes chassis design. They have some of the best looking vehicles, though there is some nice Audi vehicles as well.

I’ve had one of this love it I did the same but with glass pack yours sounds better mine was a bit more quiet, now I own a clk500 which I love even more 😂,already did muffler and resonator delete next I’m doing cats delete ☝️🔥🔥

There is a recall on the fuel tank, I have the same car and I took it to Mercedes and they repaired it
How long ago was this? I don't own this car anymore, but the fuel tank did seem a bit dangerous to me. I wonder if there is any issues with the newer CLS models, because they are very similar body styles as this year. I never felt confident about the car after I even fixed the issue.
Did u smell gas?? I have the same car And when my music guy was putting music in the back he smelled gas on the back passenger seat when he moves to see around maybe mine is doing the same thing
I thought only the cls 55s have the push to start on the Shifter . And how is it a 500 and you have amg pipe tips ?
No you can get it on these models as well. AMG package gives you the AMG exhaust.
Yep all 500s with sport/Amg package (In my opinion the best deal for a daily)
Next best thing to Heckler&Koch German engineering is the best
I'm gonna agree with you, I think this car is greatly designed, solid vehicle. Aside from the problematic airbags and problem prone sending unit, the motor and transmission in this vehicle is solid. The chassis is very durable. I loved the driving experience, one of my favorite cars. Hope to purchase a newer one in the near future.

i just purchased a 2010 cls 500 it has a 5.5L engine just getting the x pipe instaled not sure if i should have secondary cats removed aswel, i have heard it doesnt make a difference.
If it didn't make a difference then why did Mercedes spend the time to have these on their vehicles, they do make a difference, I've straight piped so many of my vehicles, I can tell the difference, RAW DAWG it.
@@StreetInfluenced @Street Influenced after having the work completed it has made no difference to performance. Maybe Abit more snappy of the line Definitely sounds nicer but nope. If anything it's lost top end power after work was done, next to no back pressure isn't always a good thing there is a balance hence why Mercedes worked that balance out and we go chopping there calculated engineering out, do your research guys before u go hacking pipe

does chopping off the mufflers turn the engine light on? Thank you in advance
if the Ecu is finicky enough to pick up the flow change it will, but it will adapt after enough drives, check to make sure the 02 sensor wasn’t damaged during modification
No it won't trigger the Engine Light if you are just deleting the mufflers.
Should be fine as long as you maintain some distance from the O2 sensors.

No, I didn't have to replace anything, we just did custom exhaust and never had any issues. It just sounded badass lol

Definitely get rid of the AMG on start up. It's not a AMG.

You're right, car went to a new owner already. I just wanted to use this car to film some videos, always wanted to own a CLS500, will probably end up buying a later (newer) year in the near future. It was one of the best riding cars I've ever driven. Could compare to Lexus ride quality.

They aren't that skinny lmao, I never lost traction with these tires. Always distributing power smoothly on the pavement!

Pretty much what I recorded in my video, we cut off the mufflers, and cut off the middle section resonator , gave it such a nice sound. These motors deserve to be piped who cares what people say! I loved it and 100% recommend other CLS owners doing this mod. if you got a twin turbo later model or supercharged then it'll sound even better.
@@StreetInfluenced Im doing the same to mine, removing the big resonator and put electric exhaust valves before the mufflers.

Don't be scared lol. I loved mine, hope to get a newer model CLS in the future, but I think I'm gonna go for a G wagon next, that's the only thing I haven't owned besides a S Class.

Are these expensive to maintain?
Yes and no. Make sure the factory air bag struts have been serviced or deleted and replaced with traditional quick strut assemblies. That's the most expensive issue with these cars. Next I would be cautious and check the fuel sending unit cap (usually they crack easily and should be replaced). Finally I'd just check valve cover gaskets as it's a V8, valve cover gaskets are expected to leak over time and age. Other than that, great vehicle! Very smooth power.

Mine was a 2006 I believe, I don't have it anymore, but man I loved this car so much! It was badass, one of the best cars you can find V8 and reliable under 10k. Super fun car to drive, the wind noise level is lowwww because of the aerodynamics.
