Bro this..😂idk about you but I'm turning 20 in a month so it might be that because of our age, beard growth is slow asf and our beard density sucks. I have heard that if you leave your beard alone around the 2 week spot and onwards, some of those vellus hairs may become more visible in the less full or bald spots as not all of the hairs grow at the same rate. Just gotta keep going I guess 🤷♂

Give it a little bit longer and it'll start to look fuller. I have a great hair density but also some spots that need a bit of hair to cover up weaker growth. Stick with it!

I remember when I started growing my beard. Growing up I was an Emo and I hated facial hair on me and even thought about getting it lasered off, but after I finished highschool I became lazy and didn't shave, and have not for 9 years. People too told me what with my lazy look and I told them its the new me. I'm 28 now and when I look at old photos of me without a beard I see it as not normal. I love my beard and would never shave again.
@@InfinityDsbm Goatee is fine side burns sparce and one gap on one side between burns and goatee so I cut it on the other side for symetry. I cut the goatee so it is shaped before the six months. Mustache is there but does not have a long terminal growth on sides of mouth so does not reach the goatee. Also came through ginger although I am balding and blonde.
Thank you for the advise to NOT shape or cut it in the early stages. I think many want to try to shape it, only to learn your beard has other plans. Great video, Mate!
I'm about 3 to 4 weeks in. The awkward phase. I've usually cracked by now, but I'm pushing through. Been trimming the cheek line and tiny hairs going into the mouth because I looked like a tramp, but it looks decent I think. I have a white chin which I quite like!
I am into week 3-4 but I am of a mixed race, so my beard hair is more coarse and curly. The left side of my beard is much fuller, especially under the chin areas. The right side is much thinner and I have been using Biotopic & Scotch Porter products to try and keep it hydrated, softer & to grow thicker. Is there a way to thicken up the thinner side? By watching your video, I probably need to stop trimming it since I want a fuller looking beard if possible.

I've never got past the 5 O'clock shadow, now I'm 16 days in and I have hairs sticking out,is this normal? How do I proceed from here any guidance would be very appreciated. I've got grey in it too does that effect the style I should aim for? I'm a new subscriber and love the vids I've seen so far keep up the great content.
Its normal for hairs to stick out, curl etc depending on your genetics and how you sleep on your beard. Just keep trying to grow it and use styling products and a hair dryer to straighten it if you need to. Also you can get beard dyes to cover grey hairs that work pretty well.

I am 9 months into my yeard. I started clean shaven & I have not trimmed a hair on my face because I believe in overgrowing my beard then trimming it back. I will do that in 3 months time. I would never suggest trimming a new beard at 8 or 10 weeks. That is way too early. Many beards get wrecked doing this. Patience is what is needed. I say no trimming in less than 6 months.
Maybe I'm just too young yet but your week 4 still hasn't happened to me at month 3 (note: I'm 23), this is going to be a long road to that sweet Bryan Danielson beard
Sunshine is so important for feeling good and getting the vitamin D that you beard needs! Also sharp lines are the difference between a Ok and great beard!
It's nice to sharpen up your beard edges but if people are in the process of pushing through from a somewhat beard to a fuller beard, avoid trimming too often as once you start the inevitable tends to be ah I'll just sort that bit out too ah nd that bit then stand back nd realise, ooh I took away more bulk then I wanted to, basically if your worried about people's opinions maybe every fortnight or month shape up your cheeks lines and neck line but !Don't remove too much! Good luck beard grower! I've never really got past about 12-14 weeks with length trims along the way, now I'm month in with no length trimming, only shape up twice, going to see how 3 months shapes up, but I now realise it's probably about 6-9 months to get the beard length I'm after, but I'm quite lucky my beards hardly patchy, and quite symmetrical, and pretty dense, I can't wait to discover my unique full beard look🤞🏻
Hair in my mouth was my biggest problem with growing a yeard. I found if you can add length to the mustache (perseverance needed) along with training the hairs. The hairs do stay out of your mouth

Had a grizzly adams type beard 34 years ago, anyone remember that show? Last 34 years been at 2 jobs where you had to be clean shaven. Retired from one and have a little over a year to go for retirement on the last job. Had a big beard back then and kind of growing a little now. Grew out last month, actually 45 days and was at the point it was time to start trimming. To me it is the best time as riding motorcycle you can feel it blow in the wind
Brave! I get so tempted too trim and trying to style. The masks definitely don’t help, they really make a face more irritated and absorbs your beard oils. However, it’s slow but it’s coming in. Love the beard struggle products. Great stuff, excited for the next few months of growth

Good luck with that kiddo, 18 is not the best time to try & grow one. I just turned 40 in February & I'm just now getting to an age where I can finally grow a decent beard which I'm in process of doing. Then again I'm not naturally hirsute either, so if your parents come from particularly hairy families then go for it. Just remember if you do grow one you need to groom & maintain it. Keep it shaped, keep it clean, & most importantly keep it moisturized.

I’ve gone back and forth with wearing a beard, but I’ve never really been without a mustache. I just decided that I am going to grow a full beard again. Longer than usual and gloriously white.
I have a couple weird patches where it doesn't grow. One spot on my chin exactly in the shape of my finger tip. Im at day 5 right now lol i have a while still. I usually shave it off at this point and give up because it either itches or i feel like i look like a dirty dirty dirt head lol.

I’m at around 42 days now! But man ur beard comes in thicker than mine. I hope mine fills out more. I’m not super patchy but not full of hair either.

I’m 5 months in now with no regrets. Odd stray hair trimmed but for me one point often overlooked is beard oil staining collars.
Mate, spot on. Not enough people talk about beard oil on the collar...the struggle is real. I’ve had to switch to balm

One thing guys don't consider is sunshine- get some sun on your whiskers
Also as you're growing it out keep those lines sharp to avoid looking unkempt

5:25 I'm 43 and I've been growing my beard for a year. This is what it current looks like.
I’ll be running my fingers through my beard and hairs will fall out or when I comb it hairs will come out. I use beard oil and beard balm all the time

I have a couple weird patches where it doesn't grow. One spot on my chin exactly in the shape of my finger tip. Im at day 5 right now lol i have a while still. I usually shave it off at this point and give up because it either itches or i feel like i look like a dirty dirty dirt head lol.
