    I am a very single man, and I'm looking at this clip, and I must say, Taraji is so gorgeous to me! It was something really special about her when I first saw her in 2001 (Babyboy) I found out what it was a lil later...she was born in September, i should've known!

    This story can be a trigger for many people. It is some what tragic and unfortunate and can be traumatic...everyone that has been molested did not make it out like Oprah! Many people who were in similar circumstances have ended up in ifestyles that are not what they would have like to end up in...the pain sir is far GREATER than the joy. I am not understandimg the celebration. I read the novel by Alice Walker in 1982, at that time I had not shared my story. i aw the movie upon its original release while still repressing my story and it was a good movie.I no longer celebrate it as a great movie, but I pray someone receives their release from it. When the brother, that played Mr. Mister said, "there is a flip side that blessed me."

    My black wife says - NO THANKS- saw the original version & it was heart breaking - watching a movie where the character is getting beaten & broken down - what's changed - a musical - so does that mean they soften the blow back!? 😮😅

    This movie was very colorist by replacing Nettie with a lighter complexioned woman. The original Nettie was dark skinned.

    • @GataviaTelfair
      @GataviaTelfair 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      i think it’s not colorist i think it’s shedding light on colorism showing what it was like to be black at that time. it’s more accurate to what was found beautiful back then
