I wear my hair in a short natural cut now but throughout my life I've worn press n curl, cornrows, braids, relaxers. I feel very free wearing my natural hair now.
Idk if guys can contribute but… I used to cut my hair very short but now I like to let it grow out into a fro since I’ve been grown and only get line ups occasionally.
I have a girl, she is 6 and tenderheaded. When I do her hair, it can take days. i will go so slow. We blow out first to minimize tagling in between detangling. All her styles are part 2's of the previous style because we recycle parts to minimize tension.... basically, our entire journey together is teaching her to love her hair without hurting her. (It's not always a success but it's a work in progress)
Whew. It’s been a journey. I started getting perms for as long as I can remember. I finally decided to go natural in college to really love on myself and my hair. It’s been like almost 8 years and I’m grateful to have found a rhythm and routine with taking care of my hair and growing it. Slowly but surely my hair is healthy, fuller and growing longer. It’s a journey but I love my hair and I’m grateful.
I wear my hair natural- went natural in 2014 ( because I went completely chemical free no relaxers or HAIR DYE I had to embrace my grey/silver) it’s been a long journey
I will forever love Taraji, a true queen. She should have gotten her flowers on Hidden Figures. Also what she is doing for mental health is not appreciated enough.
Taraji please stay walking in your truth. Closed doors only mean they weren’t meant for you. You’re an amazing brilliant black woman. Strong just as God made you. Your life will stay full of opportunities and success. Count on it.❤
Good morning. I admire both of these women. I can relate. I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland but there were at least 4 generations or more before my time. Only the strong or crazy survived Baltimore but it made me the woman I am today. My church kept me grounded and gave me a scholarship for college. My family came from Cambridge, Maryland and South Baltimore. My dad’s ppl are rural Deep South Carolinians. When blacks were able to moved West, we moved to West Baltimore. Baltimore was so crazy we moved from Gwynn’s Falls, to Dickey Hill and by 1970’s we moved to Northwood. Maryland was so expensive we all lived as an extended family. During the summer if I was not at the Rec’s summer camp, I was sent to Columbia, Maryland, the Carolina’s, and holiday visits to the Maryland Eastern Shore.
Great conversation ladies, Please pay these ladies what they are worth in future movies and tv shows. Taraji is real and she is down to earth and that us rare in a actor. Do no loose her for craziness. It is sad to know that telling the truth can hurt you.
Kerry has always had this open air to her... that friend in your head vibe and these interviews are so perfect for her way of being. Loved this particular interview!❤
Maybe your next move could be a performing arts school called Dream Academy…..Taraji.😊 Love you and thank you for your transparency. Thank you Kerry for your presence. You are fresh air
Hello Trajia stay with the truth trust God and keep the faith. What God has for no man can take it from you. Don't ever give up believe stay strong and he will not only fight your battles and enemies but you will watch them all fall. Put in God's hand keep your smile and stand still in his word and watch him work. Yes i just commented and mean it and i am going to do and pray other follow. But God didn't tell you to give up and cry he told you that he love❤ you and he die and fought the enemies and and rosed with all power in his hand and gave you enternal life! HALLELUJAH when he rose.you ❤ 🌹
Thank you KW for another beautiful conversation. And Taraji for this… “If you have a story to tell, tell it cause someone out there needs to hear it. Someone out there needs to see themselves and needs to know they are not alone” 🌺🌺🌺
I grew up on Both of these Queens. Kerri is the one who kinda was a foundation for sexy and vulnerability for me. Taraji came up a bit later in my life but made an impact nonetheless. Both are NO small feat! Thank you so much for the talk, convo, and interview! 🤎
Tariji P. Henson, you are a brilliant actor. You continue to make us proud. Your contribution to the entertainment industry is impeccable. Continue to do what you are doing. We are proud of you, and may you have many blessings for your continued success and accolades. Always remember that GOD gotcha!
When I tell you that you are the real deal….I mean that with my whole heart!! I pray that I will be able to meet and thank you in person for being an inspiration. We have so much in common. God really is a wonder!!! DMV stand up!!!🙏🏾 ❤️🔥❤️🏆💯🙏🏾
That’s was great. Well done to by both my girls Kerri and Taraji. Hmmmm, time for you two to do something together. A sister-girl buddy comedy comes to mind :)
Thank you Taraji and Kerry! I’ve never laughed and cried so much in such a short period of time… I saw myself in ur story and most of all, I saw my late mother; who was a single child reflected in ur story…
Taraji, As Bad is SE was I loved growing up there. Like you and Kerry... I was on the outskirts but right around the corner From Berry Farms. I went to Hart & Ballou Only Taraji would probably get that hood LOL
First - Kerry you are such a fantastic host and interviewer. Thanks for sharing your gift. I often use you as an example to my young adult twins. And Taraji, I love you. Everytime I see you I think about who your best friend might be because they are looking to have you as a girl friend. Love how real you are.
Thank you. You both are absolutely beautiful. A great contribution to the black community. I pray that the Lord will continue to make His face shine upon you both. Excellent interview.
Taraji is so relatable it’s what I love most about her. Thanks for your transparency Taraji. Our childhoods sound very similar. May God continue to bless you. Kerry you’re the best. Great interview.
I love my black authentic women. Taraji exemplifies a great leader and a humble person. It's great to see growth with these women. I truly enjoyed this segment and I had some great laughs.
Kerry, I just wanna say I love this series so much. You and Taraji are literally my two faves, so when I saw that you two did this together???? I screamed. I love the awareness you bring to our favorites lives because it makes the fans feel seen, connected and appreciated because we can see our stories in you all. Thank you to the both of you; you Kerry for establishing this series, and you Taraji for sharing your story. Love you both DOWN!
Key takeaway from Taraji's childhood, as parents, it is ok to allow your child to have an imagination. Don't kill their dreams but support in any way you can.
The problem Taraji is the type of liver your Mom was using. I’m sure it was calves liver. What was required was “Yearling Liver.” Unfortunately, you are forbidden by law from buying “Yearling Liver.” Why? Because “Yearling Liver” comes from the slaughter of newborn calves. The difference is newborn verses calves liver that is beyond the age of suckling from the Mother calf. Let me tell you this. Yearling Liver melted in your mouth like melted butter. Ahhh the good ole days.
Two of my favorite actresses in the world. Taraji I am praying for you. We are praying for you. Kerry I would pay good money for a Scandal Movie reunion.
I simply love Taraji! I will always support anything Taraji does because I know it will always be for the people. A true ICON who deserves the whole garden of flowers 👑🫶🏽
Love the show, and all the amazing guest you have on. You see the street, house and bedroom, music, kitchen. It reminds me of my up bringing. I loved Carol, Lucy, Flip etc.
I NEVER make comments, but I love Taraji. It's almost like we are related. I'm from New Orleans and I live in North Carolina, lol.... I just ordered TPH products on Amazon. Kerry is a fantastic host!

Ms Henson. She should get paid more. She is a great great actress and have been in many wonderful movies.
All black actresses should be getting paid more, Viola dont make what Meryl Streep does and she should.

Love watching Taraji, such a great speaker and actress 😍
Anyone who is from South East DC know that neighborhood is called 3 world. Right behind P.R. Harris.
Why doesn't this channel have millions of subs???🤔🤔🤔
I was wondering the same thing!
Because it is too positive and uplifting. Many people today love wild and toxic. Hence the popularity of reality TV 📺
@@texasflower1212 That's a shame. Sad state of affairs.
