      I agree with this a billion percent. If I have to show someone an introductory sample of Adrian, this is it, but it's so affectively (effectively) sublime. Just lifts me out of myself pretty much everytime. I get amped up as soon as that first note hits, cuz I know I'm in for a ride. Stevie Ray Vaughn's solo in "Can I Have a Talk With You" can do the same thing.

      Also, can I add that I really appreciate that you start the clip at 5:02, so that the listener gets to hear the riff going as a build-up into it. :) ... And then that thing that happens at 5:49 ... a moment of utter guitar inspiration.

    I've been listening to bands like mastodon and the Mars Volta for years. I never realised how much of a huge influence king crimson obviously is on them.

      That is almost exactly how I got into King Crimson about 15 years ago. Go down the worm hole, my friend. Just saw them in Philly a few weeks ago, and it was the pinnacle of live experiences for me.

      it's such an outstanding solo :D definitely one of my favourites, i still have a goosebumps every time i hear it coming
      especially at the very beginning when it starts, it feels like some last boss from a game or main antagonist from a show enters the room for final encounter you've been all waiting for xD

      It's more impressive that Trey can play along. Of course performers can perform the things they write (though even Fripp admits Fracture is challenging). I'm always more wowed when people can play music by other people.

      Yeah the whole dvd is like this.
      The improvs are massive. The multiple versions of Deception Of The Thrush, a deep cut so deep many don’t know it exists, but these live versions are up there with anything the band ever did.

    I saw this band perform on this tour@ Lakewood Civic Auditorium in 2001...Lakewood High School auditorium for all intents and purposes....That alone made it probably the most powerful concert I ever experienced. I saw them @ the University of Oberlin in 1981 from a church pew 3 rows back (Dicipline tour)...I thought THAT changed me...until I saw this. My impressions and views of KC, music and guitar playing were never the same again...

      Well, I love the pistols... But I'd have to say King Crimson, Dream Theater, Circus Maximus and Porcupine Tree. I'm more into the technical shit. Anything simpler would have to be Drum and Bass music or something. As someone whose recently seen DT and KC, and "Robert Fripp and the Chamber Orchestra of Crafty Guitarists", I can't ever go back to listening to normal music.
      And NO, not Opeth or Pink Floyd's "The Wall". Overrated bullshit. Much prefer Hawkwind and Chrome who influenced those bands in the first place.

      I saw it a couple of years ago. Belew wasn't in the line up but they all NAILED it!!! It was superb. But the inclusion of 3 drummers made it so much more technical live. Highly recommend seeing them these days anyway :)
