I’m a Habs fan… and I can tell you, it wasn’t for lack of effort or heart that things didn’t work out here. He is still adored and respected by us Habs fans! So much pressure playing Montreal but especially as a francophone. I hope he has amazing success and happiness in Colorado! And I know I can speak for all Habs fans saying that (at least the sane ones lol)

One thing about the cap thing is sure getting rid of fhe cap would get rid of people complaining about the cap but everyone will immediately jump to complaining about big teams being able to buy talent.
Just look at man city in the prem. Team doesn't have a real fanbase because its so devoid of natural history

for me Im taking the cup. As kids the dream was to win the cup and not the make millions right? (At least it was when I was a kid not sure if its still that way) so for me I would be completely satisfied with one year career but I won the cup that year.

I think the fact that drouin was traded for a top 2 defenseman and never lived up to the hype (though he wasn't bad) really hurt his reputation in Montreal. If he was traded for a lesser lower tier dman the pressure would not have been as intense. I still to this day don't understand why Montreal traded such a promising dman in sergachev i just imagined him and Weber on a d pair. Oh what could have been!
