Lavaridge definitely seems like one of those very old Japanese villages that are deep in the countryside and are relatively hard to reach using conventional transportation methods. Lavaridge doesn't a lot of thru traffic, and a lot of their commodities are probably made in-town. The Poke Mart likely uses potions made from herbs cultivated from the same farms as the herb shop, and may even have a Poke Ball crafter that builds their stock of Poke Balls. I’m pretty sure that the first “problem” you suggested isn’t actually a problem. Using the Earth as your “anchor” (so everything moves relative to Earth instead of vice versa) should make Earth’s movement through space negligible when you’re teleporting around the surface of it. Maybe the rotation could be an issue, but if you don’t carry over your previous momentum (and immediately adopt a momentum to match the new location), then it shouldn’t be an issue either. Yeah, the whole teleportation thing is creepy when you really think about it, same with cloning and transferring of memories. It's one of the reasons why Soma freaked me out so much when I watched a playthrough of it, because the original consciousness is still present while the new one gets to carry on. Michael Crichton, the guy who wrote Jurassic Park, wrote a book that covered time travel in the same way as well, with characters being disassembled down to the atomic level to be reconstructed centuries in the past, and it says that they are killed, but that their memories are still intact so they're still the same people. It's an existential bundle of fun
What makes you, you? Your body? Your brain? Your conscience? Your soul? If you teleported, and you remembered teleporting, and you remembered everything about your life, then I would argue that you are you, even if you were ripped apart and reconstructed

@@pkmntrainermark8881 the point of the debate is that the version of you at the other end of the teleportation is made up of entirely new and different atoms than the you before teleporting, so some people say that it is no longer you because you're made up of different atoms. Of course, I personally believe that the body doesn't really matter in defining who you are, just the mind, so if you're reconstructed from different materials but still keep your consciousness and all your memories/personality then you're still you imo. But that's just my opinion
Okay analysis, although I can't really say that I feel that I entirely agree. We see that Teleport works, no matter what unofficial fan theories may say. Teleport doesn't take us to space, planetary rotation be darned; We see this because Teleport has never taken anyone to space by accident in Pokemon, even when in the anime, Togepi, a Baby Pokemon, used it via complete chance with Metronome. Likewise, no Abra or Ralts will accidentally space you.& Pokedex entries have detailed Abra being known to be confused when they teleport to unfamiliar locations by accident; That the Abra are found, observed & documented doing as such implies they're still on Earth, not to mention alive. Plus, there's the old man who has his Abra teleport people as a service in the Johto Pokemon League; It would be strange for someone to spend their old age offering teleporting to people right before they challenge the league, only for none of the people to return after they get teleported away to prepare or such; If he were trying to help people be ready to challenge the league, it'd seem against his character to do something his observations tell him is reducing the number of challengers. & If Teleport it transported you to another, identical universe, it would have to be one without a pre-existing you, in which case, why would anyone -Ex: Your rival.- recognize you? If it DID have a pre-existing you in this new universe, you'd now have a doppleganger running about. Hope you like fighting an identical team to become Pokemon League Champion. Still, a decent video. Thanks for uploading!
I mean, that first issue with teleportation arbitrarily posits that teleportation is required to take place relative to some objective universal reference point, the second would be so noticeable that it would be a well-documented hazard, the existence of a spirit world is canon, and the Ship of Theseus is... valid existential wig-out fuel, admittedly.
Teleportation doesn't necessarily have to consist of your atoms being ripped apart and a new version of you being created (which, arguably this happens all the time since our cells are constantly dying and being replaced). But, teleportation could effectively work through concerted motion of your atoms. Electrons in your body can move at quite incredible speeds and can be incredibly long distances away from your body. For example, there is a discrete probability that at any point in time an electron that is associated with one of your atoms could be on the moon. Electron movements in real life are incredibly random though and have no effect on our body. But, this begs the question of, what if every electron belonging to one of your atoms suddenly made a concerted movement? The electrons would likely drag that atom with it. So, what if every electron in your body made the same concerted movement? How quickly would your atoms move with those electrons?
I don't know if you would still have all your momentum. Teleportation already breaks conservation of energy as is, so the assumption that your momentum does not change is a pretty steep one.
I wouldn't be able to go to Fortree City, because I have a fear of falling from heights. I can't even look at strangers on ladders, because even the thought of THEM falling from that height freaks me out. I wouldn't be able to navigate Fortree City, because I'd constantly be afraid of those rope bridges breaking, or falling off the ladder on my way up or down. So I also wouldn't be able to get to Winona.
The solution to the problem is actually quite simple all you have to do is fold space-time onto itself, this is very idea behind Hoopa's rings. Maybe psychic pokemon lock onto the location and thus teleport you by folding space-time onto itself, though that is technically not teleportation, hence why you must have been there before.
When it comes to the ship/Trigger's broom, I say the original ship/broom with all the parts replaced is the real one, since that has the essence and history of the original, but a new one with the original parts would just be that. No more than a replica. However, the Sugababes were a 3 piece girl group formed in the 90's, but over the years kept changed members, and ultimately in 2010 they released music with the final lineup change, where not one of the members was in the original lineup. The original 3 members, Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan, formed a group called MKS. And I honestly can't decide which of the two groups is actually the Sugababes.
No mention of trying to climb those ledges to get to Lavaridge town, in Ruby and Sapphire, there is the Aroma Lady Rose glitch meaning that if she sees you above the ledge, she will still ! you into the battle... Those games are the earliest technology to recieve an update. You can only get the update with the gamecube when transferring Jirachi into those games.
Sootopolis City! Thalassophobia may be silly in our world but, in the Pokemon world, where literal sea monsters are very much a thing? Guess id have to sky dive into that city
the reason why we don't feel that the earth is moving through space is because Earth is going at a constant pace, and force is based on acceleration, it's like when you're on the train and it's going at constant speed, you don't feel it. Also with the teleport you'd have the momentum of the earth carry you and you'd end up on earth anyways
I likely wouldn't be able to reach Sootopolis bc I have a fear of being underwater. Being in open water in general actually, which leaves a lot of places difficult to get to. Especially in Hoenn lol
I don't think I could go to Lavaridge Town for the exact reasons you pointed out. I also couldn't go to places like Mossdeep City and Pacifidlog Town because I don't like to be too far from land, Sootopolis City because being underwater is terrifying for me, and Snowpoint City because I don't handle cold weather very well.
I'm a former sailor for the US Navy, the Kneel of the Ship is the main body of the ship and what holds the ships name, if and major damage happens to the kneel the ship is dead, it cannot be replaced.
I could never go to any town that requires going under the ocean At some point I realised that being on the surface of the deep ocean is basically the same as fear of heights, just without the falling - there's still MILES down to where your feet could touch solid ground - and all manner of creatures that can be a hundred times your size swimming *under* you, and now I can't even put my head under the water in video games if the water is too deep to see the sea floor without feel queasy
Anything through a cave with no alternate routes. Claustrophobic af. Especially since I'm also nerdy enough to take a guess at how many metric tons of earth and rock would be above my head.

The Golem and Machamp theory. Interesting...
Snowpoint City. All that dang snow. I'm good. Not to mention you have to trek through Mt. Coronet. I don't do caves very well.
A bird keeper that's afraid of heights. Now that's the real paradox of the video
I'd never, EVER, be able to get to any town you need to surf and/or dive to get to. I'm absolutely terrified of water
That’s fair, I get that
I once saw a once in a lifetime moment when getting on the cable car, I saw a hiker in the cutscene, i never saw it again
I never ever thought about this until now. I am terrified of heights too. I guess lavaridge is a pokemon town I would never get to.
"Neither is the true ship. Both are the true ship." - Vision
EDIT: "Soar high.", says the guy who can't go on the cable car...
Lol
Hiker photobomber approves
My mind was blown with that mini Gravler and Machoke theory 🤯 how have I not heard this before?!
The reassembled SS Anne is the original. It was just slowly piece by piece swapped out from under you while on the ship.
Also with the teleport you'd have the momentum of the earth carry you and you'd end up on earth anyways
this is the most unhinged toby video, and i’m for it.
honestly im bloody terrified of hights as well, i feel your pain mate lol
“So if you really care about your home reality… yea, that could be a problem.”

I likely wouldn't be able to reach Sootopolis bc I have a fear of being underwater. Being in open water in general actually, which leaves a lot of places difficult to get to. Especially in Hoenn lol
lavender town freaks me out ever since that thing with the music happened yet you Know little kid me was obsessed with the theories for some reason
I feel seen, also have a bad fear of heights. Space Needle and Sears tower were some the worst tourist spots for me
I don't think I could go to Lavaridge Town for the exact reasons you pointed out.
Interestign! thanks :D That's really good to know!
I could never go to any town that requires going under the ocean
At some point I realised that being on the surface of the deep ocean is basically the same as fear of heights, just without the falling - there's still MILES down to where your feet could touch solid ground - and all manner of creatures that can be a hundred times your size swimming *under* you, and now I can't even put my head under the water in video games if the water is too deep to see the sea floor without feel queasy
nice change of pace
Thanks ^_^
Well, that town that is built on top of trees in Ruby and Sapphire is worse for my fear of heights.
Anything through a cave with no alternate routes. Claustrophobic af. Especially since I'm also nerdy enough to take a guess at how many metric tons of earth and rock would be above my head.
You would have Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, or a disease caused by ash and toxic particulates.
