It's only been a few months since the last update, too. These guys are dedicated, and the fact that they're doing this and working on Light No Fire at the same time, these devs are something else.
At the behest of a friend, I gave NMS a go(about 2 years ago)...& at the time, I wasn't thrilled with the graphics(sort of juvenile looking)...and I found myself constantly struggling to maintain my oxygen levels and I became very frustrated with it and ditched the game. Best part of having tried this on my main save, was the fact that I had enough rep with all of the races/guilds so I got max discount on all of the stuff immediately. It's gonna be rough when I start my new save again lol
Ever since I started exploring in No Man's Sky, ship hunting has been my go-to for income and nanites. Even with other, better methods, I always prefered ship hunting; claiming a ship, and using onboard materials to patch it up, before selling or keeping it. Living ships and freighters need some love, and we need a less tedious mission to get a living ship. Like maybe a separate quest line where we make alliances with synthetic living ships like the Korvax and battle ships with snail shells, or maybe trader ships from the Geks. And having an alliance with one maybe triggers wars with living ships which spawn like pirate ships do. They could have living homeworlds like the worm planets where living ships spawn more rarely. And we definitely need more upgrades and more unique mechanics for living ships. And a way to make our capital freighter a living ship interior.
I think I will create a new save to go deep into this. Early game will not change much, a good sentinel will be the best early on, once the mission stuff is done, max all three race levels, and have at it. I want to build the smallest toaster hauler possible.
Sure, it will. Find a ship now and it's a million repairs before you can use it. Now 12,000,000ish and a S class core gives very cheap S class. You wanted to buy the charts and an hour of play or less you'd have a S class you could use until the end of time. Or a very cheat A if you don't want to wait for the S core. Or a free upgrade over your starting ship at a C class for free. The cost of a handful of nanites and a few charts you don't even have to buy. They are just data that rain out of the sky everywhere in the game.
I CAN BUILD A CUSTOM SHIP NOW! Been out the loop for the last 2 years i'd say, and i remember always wanting to build my own ship. Might have to update my game and check this out!

I see no reason for anything else. You can only fly 1 ship. Why hunt up something you never ever use. I always ask the same thing, "12 ships for what?" You only fly your favorite anyway. The others are taking up space for nothing.
@@larrylindgren9484 Solars cockpit section is way to small imo looks like a pod racer from star wars not a starship. you can build your own ship and bases now. multi player is huge. hello games really stuck with it and made a great game. i pre ordered the game years ago and happy i stuck with it too
Some things I wish they'd done that would have knocked this outa the park, at least for me: - Ship parts are not collected, but learned as schematics and stored similar to base and freighter parts - Adding on to that: ship parts not only collected from ships themselves but also from doing activities like quests, derelict freighters, quicksilver rewards, etc - Parts for ships you own automatically get added to the schematics list - New freighter room that lets you customize your existing starships with schematics you've collected
Just learning a plan makes ship hunting useless after a while. This way you want another ship you at least have to go get 4 pieces. Taking the parts out of the ship would make getting what you want a long cruel grind. You are now in the hands of the RNG Gods. You may never see the piece you want ever in a quest or a drop. The way it is now you can actually get the parts. Your way you may never get them. Add it to plans is just a no. Unless they went your way at getting them. Get it once would be hard enough. Getting it again might be impossible.
Hello Games is in my point of view, the definitiin of "redemption"! I was so dissapointed back in 2016, but, they ended up delivering everything that was promised...and then sum!!! This is now one of the coolest games ever created!
My suggestion might sound like copyright infringement but for the next update for this should be where they should add a hyper space engine module, something similar to Elite Dangerous's Frame Shift Drive which would obviously extend the jump range considerably. Say by 3 to 5 times the distance and with the charge up
This would have come in handy before I went through the trouble of finding a fleet of solid red ships of every class all with my favorite parts already, if I could mix and match parts from different classes I would be more impressed with it.
So, here's a question. Are the parts interchangeable from other ship classes? Like, if you scrap an S class Sentinel ship, can you get it's warp core and use it to build an S class fighter?
No. You can only use fighter parts with other fighter parts, ect. The way the game stores ship information doesn't allow for mixing parts. Most of them wouldn't fit together anyway.
Reactors are also available (sometimes) at mission desk on 1st floor of Space Stations. I found a B-class reactor as a mission reward. +2 Korvax standing was needed.
I’m pretty stoked on this update! 😃 …but does anyone know if you can change the colour of your current ship? Or can you only choose a colour when you are customizing a ship? 🤔I played last night but didn’t have time to mess around with the customization station…and of course I don’t have any ship parts yet to use in the customizer. My primary is a Solar at the moment, not sure if that makes a difference. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance!
Also, if you have a discount from your standing with one or more of the factions, buy your reactor core from one of their systems. The discount goes up to 50%, basically saving you 6000 nanites for an s class reactor.
I hope they add the rest of the ship types later, any class can go through the same process because the base of this building system is salvaging already existing ships.

Damn 2:49 I came here to find out about shuttles. I did Explorer and Hauler already, I wanna do Fighter and Shuttle now. Guess I’ll have to wait. But hey I still can’t complain. This is an absolutely Amazing upgrade to the game still.❤
Oh this is what I been waited for
I have been searching this exact video and turns out it has just been released 14 minutes ago 😭🤣
big help thanks! that has been confusing me for a while! liked and subed!
omg.... finally....iv been waiting for this since this game came out
you can build your own ship and bases now. multi player is huge. hello games really stuck with it and made a great game. i pre ordered the game years ago and happy i stuck with it too
So they did what I was saying they should do when talking to No Man Sky Twitch streamers ❤
Some things I wish they'd done that would have knocked this outa the park, at least for me:
- Ship parts are not collected, but learned as schematics and stored similar to base and freighter parts
- Adding on to that: ship parts not only collected from ships themselves but also from doing activities like quests, derelict freighters, quicksilver rewards, etc
- Parts for ships you own automatically get added to the schematics list
- New freighter room that lets you customize your existing starships with schematics you've collected
@@larrylindgren9484 I'm not following some of what you're saying but.. either way, I stand by what I said. We disagree, oh well. Enjoy your day.
Hello Games is in my point of view, the definitiin of "redemption"! I was so dissapointed back in 2016, but, they ended up delivering everything that was promised...and then sum!!! This is now one of the coolest games ever created!
the space station looks so cool
This really helped me, I was wondering where to get the core for the ship
That's awesome! Thanks Jason , love you channel , bro !!! Been watching and following you for years ! ❤
The guild alien in space station now let us gain reputation so fast giving him the required items, its amazing!!
Ever since HG standardized cargo/tech slot capacity it made the difference in ship types almost null.
Reactors are also available (sometimes) at mission desk on 1st floor of Space Stations. I found a B-class reactor as a mission reward. +2 Korvax standing was needed.
learned a lot the last 15 min. thank you
I’m pretty stoked on this update!
…guess I should have watched the first 30 seconds of this clip! 😂😂😂🤦🏻♂️
Also, if you have a discount from your standing with one or more of the factions, buy your reactor core from one of their systems. The discount goes up to 50%, basically saving you 6000 nanites for an s class reactor.
I love the update for the space stations!
Awesome. I can't wait to try it out. Love your purple ship
There are more ship style options now! Yay
It’s an awesome update I only wish we could at the very least edit the colours of our existing ships.
Yep..I would of liked the option to be able to change the colours of existing ones without having to build a whole new one first!
I am really glad that the use the same idea that I submit to them about ship customization
salvage ship to get ship part to build custom ship
I hope they add the rest of the ship types later, any class can go through the same process because the base of this building system is salvaging already existing ships.
As of July 2024 you can also build Solar ships.
I've seen one in the Nada Station. on of the missions had it as a reward.
I just want to paint my current ship, how hard is it to grab a can of paint and change colors? 😭
@@LoneTiger very
I actually sent a suggestion this to hello games about ship scrapping and choosing a part to take off the ship for ship customization
Pretty cool, I am too new to do it, but its coming!
WOOOOOOOOOOO about time! *dives back into NMS*
I’m not even kidding you dude the ship you built is my exact daily flyer ship it’s red also
Now we need a whole expansion based around just fixing multiplayer and coop and everything that involves and incorporates that.
You can get reactors for ships by doing Derelict Freighters. I did one earlier today with a friend of mine and we got an A Class reactor from it.
IM GONNA BE KING OF THE PIRATES!!!! 6:16
I wish they had previews so you could see what the different combos looked like beforehand
Ive been asking for this for years!!!!
