I saw 493 when i rode the D&S from Silverton to Durango! Sadly though I wasn’t riding on the train it was pulling, but D&S 107 was pulling or was gonna pull my train i was on to Durango. Not gonna lie I think 493 might be one of my favorites!
Watching the intro has made me realize how many steam locomotives are still out there and still running! Someone should do a video on Americas's surving steam locomotives and see how many they can find!
There is actually a great web site called survivingsteamlocomotives www.steamlocomotive.com/survivors/ that shows all of them and what ones operate. It's a great site.
@@baldwinloco12 ok. Thanks! Theres a new locomotive being built in Maine that i was wondering if he knows about. I checked the cite out and it seams to be very good. The only down side was the lack of pictures of the listed locomotives
I’ve rode this train. It looks the same now as it did when they first put the railroad in. ❤
Southern Pacific 18 and D&RGW 493 did a cool job on a double header at the D&S.

@@baldwinloco12 can you add locomotives that you know of that are not on the cite, or do you need to contact someone to add the locomotives?
@@jacobramsey7624 I would think you would need to contact the site owner. Not sure of how, maybe he has a email listed on the site.

Okay cool, it was an awesome video too. Enjoyed watching 👍👍👍
Is 493 an oil burner?
Yes, she was the first and somewhat controversially converted oil burner which has since been joined by 473 and 480.
Does 493 normally wear Rio Grande on the tender, or was that specially done for the photo charter?
just for the photo charter
That’s epic!
I first time to visit silverton and found 493 in 2005
