    Splendid video. It is certainly lovely to see 482 all cleaned up, it certainly seems to be their pride. The whistle messes with my mind as I have many memories of 482 with the previous one, she sounds a lot like NNRy 40 now, I think.

      I agree. I like this whistle, but would much prefer the 5 Chime to return or one of the 6 Chimes it has worn. Maybe even the 6 Chime 480 is currently wearing.

      MPT 1225 Should get a 6 chime for 482 in that case.

    That Powell 3 Chime on 482 sounds like 489 and Nevada Northern 40.

    I liked the old whistle on 482 better than the new one but why did 482 get a new whistle this year

    What kind of chime whistle is that I've heard of it before but what is the name and number of that chime whistle?

      which one

      @TexasRailfan21-RailfanRyan 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jonathancordovaceo the one that 482 was wearing I think it's the same whistle that Nevada Northern number 40 has and at some point Lima Pacific Coast Shay Pickering Lumber CO. 11 from the Mt. Rainier Scenic railroad which has been out of service since the early 2000s awaiting a restoration

    When will 497 run again on the cumbres and Toltec?

    • @basictransportenthusiast4386
      @basictransportenthusiast4386 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well right now, it has a serious boiler issue, as i've heard that it has a worse boiler than 492, so it is not going to be any time soon. But I am sure that the railroad will eventually get around to it

    Hey I’m building that mountainside section of track as a scene for my N scale Bachman Durango and Silverton #481, I have seen a bunch of videos on D&S last few days, getting inspiration...just wondering, I haven’t seen any of these trains with a caboose, would they not ever have one? My set didn’t have one either...I really want a caboose for my setup, would I be ridiculed by the train lovers out there?

    • @baldwinloco12
      @baldwinloco12  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cabooses were traditionally used on freights, but I think a caboose would look fine if you want to use one.
