Owning a Raptor R is like owning a 60 foot boat. If you can afford the boat, you can afford the gas. There’s no complaining about fuel economy with this truck.
I stopped checking my milage in my truck 15 years ago. It gets 13 city 17 hwy... period. If you want milage get a Prius or a eBike ;)
YUP, i bought a nice truck as my daily not for fuel economy. I would of kept driving my 4 cylinder CVT Subaru if I was after fuel economy...

I think these trucks are awesome in every way. If money were no object I would buy one in a second but i cant help but think that if the average person who might have stretched their budget to get one, would probably trade it after 6 months. My neighbor has a TRX and he said as awesome as it is, he feels silly spending $100.00 week on gas when he works from home 😆

@@wint_62 It's fun. What speaks against it, is the TRX - for the price difference you can fill up the TRX tank quite a few times. I am more into RAMs, but these two compared, I favor the Raptor R design - it is not as "overdone" bold as the TRX is but still basically same capability.

Nobody looks at these lollll. They are terrible looking. If anything gets looks it’s a TRX.
@@wint_62I have a 18 Raptor and when new everyone was commenting on how great it looked. People still occasionally say something, but not as much. A lot of trucks have improved looks drastically to make the Raptor not as unique looking now. TRX does look better imo as well though.

@@Hunter-nb5bj I've noticed the same thing in that comments over time seem to dwindle a bit. I wasn't a fan of the Gen3 Raptor when it came out and, being a current Ram Rebel owner, was much more partial to the TRX. The current Raptor looks have grown on me but I still think the Gen2 is the best looking. I'm just glad we have two manufacturers making trucks in this class.
@@wint_62true, I had the Ecoboost and TRX always steal attention I upgraded to Raptor R and none of my friends nor neighbors noticed, I should have at least picked different color but I can’t pick color other than black.
Drove the 1st gen. and the 2nd gen. The Raptor R is what the 1st gen. should have been and certainly what the the 2nd gen. should have been. I would take the 1st Gen. and the Raptor R. over any other variations. If I were paying those prices for a super truck, it damn well better have a V8 and sound like a monster. Not messing around with turbo charge 6's at these price points.
Driving a 2012 SCREW with a Whipple and the the new R. The. New truck is quite a bit more sophisticated but I love the gen1. You’re absolutely correct they should all be like a gen1 with a blower.

The only bad thing is the actual mileage, this truck makes some serious smiles per gallon of fuel. Wish I was able to afford one of those.
a 700hp brick on 37" tires. The ingredients used doesn't give you a cake with 40MPG... granted if you could afford it, you probably wouldn't care about your fuel bill anyway especially if you have that magical influencer $$$ lol.

I love that you have the ability to go from 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive in the new Raptor. I wish the RAM TRX had that feature. I’m not a Ford fan at all, but it seems like Ford is always setting the standard! Come on RAM! Been watching you guys since 2018.

Exactly. My CCSB 6.7 gets mileage like that driving it around... it's priced simewhat similar too - it's just a fun vehicle and Andre nailed it when he said it puts a smile on your face every time you drive it. That's why you buy it - it's fun to drive EVERYWHERE.

MPG is always a factor unless it's a garage queen and let's be honest the majority of Raptors are garage queens.
I got a tuner on my Ecoboost an ppl ask about the mpg. I reply there is no point in answering because it's too fun too drive lol. That's the point.

I’m not sure why GM hasn’t jumped in the Super Truck game, they have beautiful trucks, great engines ready to be supercharged, but haven’t shown any interest in this segment and it’s a shame. I applaud bot RAM and Ford for building absolutely crazy trucks,. Just wish Ford would have give the Raptor a meaner more aggressive look, RAM hit it out the ball park with styling in my opinion.
TRX looks great but I think the Raptor looks dope too. Look forward to the 2025 refresh
I like the Raptor design language better. Not as bulbous and has a vastly better grille design. Also not a fan of Stellantis hood scoops.

Would love to see this truck being used for work! I know it's more of a play truck, but a truck is a truck, and it would be nice to see it on a jobsite.
The biggest issue with this truck is the mark up on them. I’m totally okay with the msrp but having 50-60k markup is absolutely insane. Ford needs to jump on the Tesla ordering wagon and make dealers disappear

Another great video by you guys. I understand that it needs to be brought up because it is part of the review process but MPG and towing capabilities, more specifically, the "squat" is basically useless and irrelevant. Anyone purchasing this truck does not care and is probably not even thinking about MPG. Like you said Andre, its a super truck, MPG is irrelevant. Also 13.5avg is still better than the old V8s, at least this thing has a supercharger!!
The "squat" when fully loaded towing is a bit misconstrued also. This is essentially a street legal trophy truck. It's going to have softer suspension, that's what it is made for. Its selling point is not towing, and while people will tow with this, it will most likely be for their expensive SxS or a smaller "toys". Great review as always! Keep it up boys

Nice truck but with that kind of pricing, a super duty diesel is comparable. It would seem, under hard acceleration, the fuel gauge would be in tune with the tach.
All i know it has issues with excessive tire wear in the rear... and the designer of the vinyl wrap, they fell asleep on the 8 key. Oh right and EVERY SIGNLE ONE I've seen is super clean and shiny

It's sure fun, but.... If off-roading is what you want to do, buy a cheaper truck and a Side by Side. You can thrash the sxs off road, plus they perform better off road.

Even if you have 110k+ burning a hole in your pocket, you can't have one. You order and wait, wait some more and do a little more waiting. If you're really lucky you'll take delivery sometime in 24. Ford pulled this nonsense with the Bronco, (which was a huge disappointment) and they are doing it again with the R. At least Andre disclosed the simple fact, you still can't get one.

Cool truck but up in Canada most ive seen there asking 200k ouch. Vehicle prices are so out of hand. I bought a 5.4 Raptor in 09 for $54900 crazy how much things have changed.
You might be the only person I have heard of who bought the 5.4 version.
@Hunter-nb5bj I wanted one as soon as they came out 5.4 was fine it did the job. I think they are pretty rare now. I dont have it anymore but drove it for 6 years I had the first white Raptor in my province was cool to be one of the first it was months before I even seen another driving around.

@Hunter-nb5bj Didn't take it as bad all good I like the ecoboost Raptor I've had a few F150s with it and loved the power. I got a Maverick now and it's not much cheaper then I paid for my Raptor back in the day go figure great little truck though.

Forgive me for saying this but it’s really frustrating watching the price of trucks just become unreasonable. Why aren’t you guys calling them out for doubling their prices in 5 years!!!??? The executives should be promoted to customer for those price increases. +$100K for a V8 Raptor??? You guys have a direct line to those executives and all you do is tip toe around it. @@ALMX5DP you’re probably closer than I am to the actual growth percentage but even if it was 50% thats astronomical. Historical trends is probably between 3-5% range. Either way, the executives know what they’re doing. Conveniently some have chosen to shut down truck production. They say it’s for supply shortages but didn’t mention how it will keep demand high (higher prices)

Trucks are too damn tall, I prefer mine to be no more than 4-5 inches over the height of a sedan, like in the days of yore.
If I could buy a 'dream truck' ... it'd be an 80s Chevrolet Custom Deluxe or F150 ... on 14's ... but would have to be 3/4 ton.
NO head liner, no door panels, no carpeting, a single bench seat, column shifter. The *only* luxuries would be ABS, Power Steering,, AC and a newer head unit.
Then go buy an 80s truck...

Hate to say it but you’re right. Truck should be $75,000 max with no dealer markups. Same goes for a fully loaded TRX.
