I stumbled upon this channel a few years ago while researching the DPRK, and it's become a constant source of fascination. The content is a treasure trove of knowledge, and the editing is golden. I can't express how happy I am to learn new things with each video. Great work!
Interesting fact: architect Leon Krier designed a plan for Washington that was modeled on Pyongyang. It had a pyramid Monument to the War of the Rebellion (the civil war) and a giant pyramid Babylon Hotel, though it was made of white marble, not blue glass. It also had an enormous Constitution Square at the west end of the Capitol Building, which faced a Grand Canal, leading to the Washington Monument, in a layout almost identical to that of the Kim Il Sung Square and the Juche Tower.
Thank you for the glimpses you offer us of this country made mythical by a lot of people. Do you have plans on talking about social life, leisure and the like at some point? Hope I didn't miss video of you already covered that. I'd be fascinated to know about pastimes and recreation!
Stuck around since the provinces explaination videos and hyped up on the abandoned soviet era bases in Mongolia, glad to see the channel is going strong as always👌 I guess my suggestion would be about Mt Paektu and its significance in the past and present
I've always been fascinated by monuments regardless of country. Their unique meanings often tells the tale of a country and this video made it much easier to understand. (I'm in China right now so I'm a bit late. Also this is the other account of BeginnerSkier, yes that's my main).
@DPRKExplained Waiting for next video maybe sharing about Kim's Badge that would be interesting because North Koreans always wearing sacred badges (except on some occasions).
@@deadeyeduncan5022 I mean, I sorta know about the war crimes the Japanese committed. It's just that a lot of people have already moved on from that association.
@@ghostagent3552Japan refused to apologize, refused to admit their sex slaves were not consenting and Japan refused to give any of the slaves back, like the descendents of the slaves are still their and get discrimination for not being japanese even though they were not aloud to leave. From your POINT OF VIEW LOOKS GREAT, MANY COUNTRYS DONT OR CANT EVEN C THEIR OWN, OR WISH THEY WON'T THERE SOME LIKE MANY AMERICA TEARE OR MADH UP THERE'S THANK YOU FOR THIS😊
I always love watching this guy's videos. He is the only one making videos about the DPRK without an anti-DPRK agenda. I love the music at the start of the videos.

Man, I didn't know that they would be so upset about the Japanese. To be fair, the Japanese were pretty dang terrifying back then.
You need to read more history dude.
