Thank you so much for your support and kind words! Congratulations on your RX! I'm happy to get to help you learn all about it! This RX deep dive was my first long video in this format. I only made it because it was during the pandemic and I wasn't able to sit in person and teach people about their new Lexus. I wasn't even sure anyone would watch it. Who knew the deep dives would be so well received. Thank you again!
Just bought an used like new 2020 at Northside last 2 weeks and this " manual movie " help me much much more than the manual itself! Thanks for excellent job!
Thank you so much for tuning in to learn with me and for shopping with us at Northside Lexus! That is so awesome! Congratulations on your new Lexus! I hope you will love it!
I'm so glad! Thanks very much for tuning in with me to learn about your 2021 RX350L. There are a few details that are specific to the long version of the RX, you may like this other tutorial as well: Lexus RXL Full Tutorial - What's Different About the Long Version of the Lexus RX 2020, 2021, 2022: th-cam.com/video/P5Y1hyp8QJk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FoqdfhjEaw71eKpt
Just picked up my 2020 RX350 2 days ago. This was an excellent video. You were great in explaining every detail. Otherwise I would be reading the owners manual cover to cover then have to go back to remember what I read.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this tutorial. Saves me a lot of time having to go through all the manuals. Learnt bunch of things I didn’t know my 2020 RX has.
Yep! This video is a must see. I keep coming back to learn new things. Loving my 1st Lexus. I'm loving the safety features and obvious thought put into the overall driving experience. It's been a lovely experience. Thank you again for making this! 😊
If Lexus cannot tell that with your 194,000 subscribers, that your tutorials are badly needed, they are not paying attn. Now, to categorize by model (ES, RX, LX, etc) and year, would be glorious. Thank you Melissa❣️
Hi Carol! Thank so much for your support! I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos. We do have playlists for the models by year, but I love your idea of having playlists for the different models. I'm going to get that set up for us. Thank you for the suggestion! So glad you're here and tuning in with me!
@@NorthsideLexus hi Melissa, I sincerely appreciate you, all your efforts and keeping in touch. I tried to get Apple car play to work, however the video I watched for the 2019 RX350 had 2 ports at the dash & my RX only has the 2 ports in the large glove box & none above the seat HVAC buttons. 😢 Do you by chance have any Plan B for me to try? 💜🙏
Hi Carol. Apple CarPlay was not introduced on the 2019 RX. Unfortunately there is not an update or retrofit for the feature either. There might be an after market solution, but we don’t have anything available from the factory. I’m so sorry.
@@NorthsideLexus hi Melissa, I had watched this video and he explained how to make Apple car play work (but I do not have the usb ports where his are). th-cam.com/video/052u3hxBsDE/w-d-xo.html
@@CarrieAnn17 Hi Carol, One of your comments got caught up in the spam filter. The Apple CarPlay unit they installed in the video you saw was an after market system. They didn't give any information about what the product is unfortunately. Maybe if you reach out to them you can find out more information? Sorry for the delayed response.
With your obvious talent and verbal skills Lexus should be hiring you to provide instructional tutorials on a corporate level. I just wish you you would have been my technical advisor when I recently took delivery of my 2021 RX.
Thanks for such a detailed video. I just bought the 2021 Lexus RX450h in Canada and even my dealership did not provide such a detailed explanation. Grateful for this!
This was a GREAT idea! I'm an aural person; I learn better hearing and seeing than by reading. The full manual was, quite frankly, burning my brain. I foune this video and am as peace with the learning curve and amazed at what my RX can do!
I've had several Lexus and the 2020 RX for about 6 months and didn't know all the benefits, gadgets and settings it provided. Definitely a great resource tool!
Your Delivery Day Deep Dives are so much fun to watch. I've been working at home for a few years, and a 2020 RX 350 looks like a top contender for my "RTO" car. Seeing the infotainment gain touch support along with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and weather reports from HD Radio (not SiriusXM) are a few key upgrades I've wanted to see. I also thought I couldn't live without the kick-to-open rear hatch, but I'm beginning to rethink my position since there's so much more going on with this vehicle. Thank you for leaving this Deep Dive up and available for so long. It is very helpful for my research.
Hi! I'm so glad to help you on your Lexus journey. I will say that I've had vehicles with and without the kick sensor and I sure do love having that feature. Clearly you can live without it, but I use it a lot more often than I thought I would. Food for thought. I hope your RTO goes smoothly and that you have awesome tunes to listen to in your 2020 RX when you get it!
Hi Melissa Thanks for this great video. I just bought a 2020 RX and this was so helpful. My Lexus dealer went over everything with me, but it’s a lot to absorb all at once. I’m sure I’ll be referring back to your video a few times in the next few days and maybe longer. Thanks for taking the time!! Super helpful.
Wow - great informative and thorough video. I’m not sure how it has any downvotes! Great job and thank you for the detailed instructions. I’m a tech guy but this made understanding the features and functions of the RX so much easier than digging through a manual. Thanks again!
Thanks so much, @Mike! I sure appreciate the support. Glad to help you with your Lexus knowledge and I hope you love your RX! It is an amazing vehicle! Thanks for watching and for the uplifting comment!
Northside Lexus -You’re welcome. Quick question. Is there a way to customize the home screen “layout” (like Weather on one side and radio on the other)? I’ve looked through all the menu settings and can’t find a way to do that.
Mike Lonneman You bet. For a 2020 RX follow these steps: Menu - Setup - Customize Home Screen. Then you can change the layout and select what you want to go where. Keep in mind this is for non-NAV vehicles and older model have this feature built into the Home Screen with a little tile thumbnail at the top corner. 👍
Hi @@mikelonneman14 ! Sorry for the delay. That's correct. The NAV vehicle doesn't have a Home screen. If you use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto there is a version of a Home Screen, but it is not customizable. With NAV you can turn off the "Auto Screen Change" feature in Menu - Setup - Auto Screen Change - Off. That will allow you to be in charge of what's on the screen. :)
Thank you for these excellent videos. As a new Lexus owner they are most helpful. Lots of useful information presented in a clear and understandable manner. Great job!
Thank you Melissa. Your explanations are spot on, clearly stated and your encouraging tone helps ease the anxiety around learning about our RXs and what they can do.
Hi Nji! Sorry I wasn't able to get into an F-Sport for you, but here's the new 2021 RX Full Tutorial Deep Dive video. th-cam.com/video/QzbrnLW0Qtw/w-d-xo.html I was able to cover a lot of additional information and the updates for 2021. The main difference that an F-Sport driver might like to use would be the Paddle Shifters. I did not cover that here so if you have any questions about it please let me know. Thanks for tuning in :)
Glad you liked it! Thanks so much for watching! I'm really glad to hear the time stamp feedback. I'm going to try to go through our other videos and add them. (Needless to say it takes a while ;-P lol)
Thanks Mellisa. It was very useful, informative on how to operates the Lexus. My first Lexus ever. I’m ready to put my hands on to navigate all the features. You’re very well spoken fir Lexus.

After purchasing my Lexus Rx, I never had an in depth tutorial like this. Even the Lexus app wasn’t mentioned at all. Now it feels like my experience with the dealership that I went was like “ok we got your money now thank you”
Hi Justin, I'm so glad the tutorial was helpful, but I'm sorry to hear about your experience at your dealership. I'm not sure when you got your new RX, but our stores have drastically had to change how we interact with Guests due to the COVID19 virus. We are trying to work with video and still make it as personal as possible. I'm just glad the videos are helping so many more people than I ever imagined. Be safe and enjoy your RX!
We would love that! Since that will be a ways away, you can always stay up to date with my Lexus Technology videos. I post two or three a month here and always notify our Guests through our Facebook and Instagram pages. We would be thrilled to have you shop or service with us in the future. Thanks so much :)
THANK YOU VERY MUCH! This is deeply appreciated because im a visual learner. The lady doing this is AWESOME in all ways. Very relaxed pace and easy to follow. Very classy Lexus.....to be expected, right? 😎
@@NorthsideLexus Yes - it's a simple case of unscrewing the panel at the side of the dash once the door is opened, slipping it open and pushing the strip of four buttons back in place - you know when they're back because you can hear a click when they re-site. Then replacing the side panel and screwing it back. Just to say once again, your videos are absolutely fantastic for Lexus drivers and much appreciated.
Hi! Sorry I didn't note that well in the Index. That little button is an additional Settings Menu button. It is mostly seen on the Climate screen. Here's that section: th-cam.com/video/mngbZXRbgo4/w-d-xo.html Thanks for tuning in with me!
HI! Thanks for watching, @Katina. The Wheel Lock Kit is usually a stand alone option. The packages are determined by Lexus, but each region orders cars differently. You can add a wheel lock kit pretty easily though, and they aren't usually too expensive. Make sure to contact your Lexus Parts Department to order the correct kit for you vehicle. They should install it for you when you pick up the kit. Hope this helps.
Another great comprehensive video!! Just made me a subscriber. Wish you also worked for Audi so that you can make these comprehensive videos for my other car.
LOL! Thanks for subscribing! I'm glad I can help with at least one of your awesome vehicles! I would imagine that more and more companies will start doing this. Or at least I hope so. Northside Lexus - Yes other dealerships really should. There always a lot to learn with these new vehicles and you do a great job with your tutorials. 👍🏼
Hi Terence. I have a series called Tech Tip Tuesday that has been around for about 6 years now. It is exactly that. Short and just covering one or two features. This new full tutorial series is in response to the COVID19 virus, in hopes to provide new owners with a full introduction like they would receive at the dealership. As soon as I finish the remaining vehicles in the lineup I'll get back to the short Tech Tips :) Anything in particular you would like to see? I have requests for Apple Car Play, Android Auto, Lexus+Alexa and seat operation on the RX-L. I'm happy to add your suggestions to the list as well. Thanks again for watching!
Hi Isaac! Thanks so much. Yes, I did one for each of the main 2020 models. They have been such a hit that I plan on doing them for 2021 as they come in. Here's the link for the NX vid: th-cam.com/video/A0PYCwsYZRc/w-d-xo.html Thanks so much for watching :)
Your videos are awesome! Only ones even close to as good as yours were from How to Car Guy from North Carolina, but he is no longer with Lexus. 😖 He was a perfect Lexus Rep also but changed jobs due to family needs.
Thanks so much, @Joseph! I consider that a huge compliment! I love the How to Car Guy! He was always so easy to understand and follow. He is missed in the Lexus world, but I'm very glad I can help. Thanks again for tuning in and for your very thoughtful comment!
Thank you so much excellent tutorial!! With my 2020 Lexus I have no Navigation system..and my screen is narrow. Is there a setting to widen my screen as I do not get the full 12" display?
Hi @Kanari! You have the same type of screen that I do, unfortunately the projection size is fixed and can't be adjusted. That means we don't have the side menu items for a wide or large split screen. That is only on the 12.3" NAV package option. You should have a Home Screen that can be customized in Setup and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (depending on the equipment on your vehicle). I customized my Home Screen to have two tiles with Audio and Climate and then use Apple CarPlay most of the time. I hope this helps :)
@@NorthsideLexus Yes thanks. I wish I knew I would have added the Navigation screen just to have a larger screen otherwise I love the Lexus! Thanks again.
Hi! Thanks for tuning in! Yes, that notification can be customized in the RSA (Road Sign Assist Settings) You can also change it to only a visual alert if you would like. Start the video around 32 minutes to see more. In the Multi-Information Display - Settings - Scroll to RSA - open the menu and then make the customization you want for Excess Speed settings. Hope this helps!
Nice video and informative. I purchased a 2020 with same interior. What’s the best way to keep it clean. Seems that color get scuffed easily. Ty. Also, why isn’t there a tray for change in the middle arm rest storage?
Hi Mike, If you have Nuluxe seats, you can usually clean them a soft cloth, warm water and a tiny bit soap. Some people even use baby wipes with great success. If you have leather seats you can get a leather cleaner/conditioner from your Parts Department at your Lexus dealership. The biggest issue with any light color interior is the dye from blue jeans transfers very easily and can cause satining. The darker interiors of any car can always show dirt scuffing more easily. It's always a good idea to clean marks right away so they don't set in. I hope this helps. enjoy your new Lexus! Thanks so much for watching!
My mother is looking for a new car but she is either going to choose a Volvo XC60 or Lexus RX which one do you think is better? She likes Volvo because is very safe, but Lexus IS more reliable but is Lexus worth it?
Hi Quinton, Your Mom has great taste in cars and can't go wrong with either one. Both the Lexus RX and the Volvo XC60 have very good safety ratings. I would recommend doing some comparison searches on line to confirm that she can get the features she is looking for and then drive them both if possible before she decides.
Do you have a playlist that would apply to the 2020 RX350? Just bought one for my wife and want her to not get frustrated wading through information that doesn’t apply to her vehicle. Thank you
Glad you found this one! Hi! A lot, but not all, of the Tech Tip Tuesday playlist will be helpful for her: th-cam.com/play/PL4lBXG_KFg_B8sdCje66HlFmX_xacsJ6a.html Stick with videos made from 2019 - 2022 for her vehicle. As long as the video is about a car that doesn't have the new Lexus Interface multimedia system, then it should work :)
I'm not sue what:" GYL16 97000 KM DONE" means at the end of your comment. Means my SUV RUNS 97000 KM AND HAVE THREE GRADE 1.GYL 10 THAN GYL 15 AND LAST FULLY OPTION GYL16. I HAVE GYL16.
Hi Guys need advice : thinking between 2020 Rx 350 f sport and Range Rover velar ...my need is a strong luxury sport car ..:my mind is on the rx but am seduced by the interior of the velar 🤔☹️
Well Seydou sound like a wonderful decision to make ;) I've been with Lexus for 21 years so you know where my vote would go. I would try to arrange to drive them both on the same do. Think of all of the things you really want from the vehicle. Maybe even make a list and take notes. They are both amazing so it can be easy to get lost in how great they look. Focus on the day to day needs. Do you need to tow anything, are the seats comfortable for you, etc. Best of luck with your shopping!
Northside Lexus thanks so much. I tried to get on TH-cam done off road video of Rx and I couldn’t get it. And that aspect is bringing some doubt if not I like the rx ...very lovely suv . ..anyway I will conclude by August .
Hi! Contacts should be transferring from your phone if the vehicle has NAV or Display Audio so you would have to delete them from your phone or customize which contacts transfer to the car if your phone has that capability. Thanks for checking in!
Hi! Thanks so much for watching. The RX does not have an auto locking feature. It does have a close and lock feature on the power back door though. Check at the beginning of this video that is for the 2022 & 2021 RX: th-cam.com/video/QzbrnLW0Qtw/w-d-xo.html From the INDEX, it is at 5:38 Rear Door Thanks again!
Thanks a lot for the video which is really helpful for the new owner. please advise if we can set the digital odometer shown on multi info display on 2020 rx350. Thanks.
Hi! The Digital Odometer is not something that can be added to the screens. It is an item that comes on some F-Sport models. I hope this helps to clarify for you. Thanks very much for being here.
I just bought a new Lexus RX 300 F-sport 2021, but my option type is no spare tire and there is tire repair kit pack in the trunk instead. I’m trying to find a repair kit pack video tutorial but It could not found ! If you could possible explain about it , it would be really helpful ! Thank a lot !
Hi Jk, I've not worked with the Lexus Tire Repair Kit before, but I have seen some videos. This one is older, but it is very good. Does this look similar to the kit you have? Here is another one from Toyota: th-cam.com/video/qPDmzZtzX38/w-d-xo.html I hope these help. Thanks for tuning in.
Hi @Nji I'm working on the 2021 RX video this week and hope to have it up by next Tuesday. Fingers crossed. Like the 2020 video, it is a full tutorial for the RX in general and not focused on the F-Sport version. Also, as a heads up, there are no major changes for the RX for 2021. There are some packaging changes and some features are not standard instead of option. I hope this helps you in the meantime. Thanks so much for tuning in.
Hi @CATGUY64, unfortunately when the systems changed to the new generation head units, they remove the capability to customize the startup and screen off images on the vehicles. Sorry I don't have a work around for you on that one. Thanks very much for tuning in with us though.
Hey does custom messaging over voice command work on a 2021 RX my client said she was able to prior to renewing her enform subscription and now two weeks later she can not, will only allow her to send quick replies
Hi! Sorry for the delay! Gen 10 and 11 multimedia systems require Dynamic Navigation for voice texting. It is part of the Dynamic Voice Recognition system and needs Dynamic NAV to operate. The other option is to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto instead on compatible vehicles. Thanks so much for checking in.
Hey Steve. Sorry for the delay. I may have already sent this to you, but just incase: The main screen can be turned off. Menu > hover over the word Setup but don't click down > highlight Display and click to open > then you can turn the Screen Off I hope this helps!
how do i activate it in the app? I can see my car in the Lexus app but I cant do remote start or door lock within the App. it siad that i need to press the SOS but when i press, it doesn’t do anything
Make sure to open the cover for the SOS button if you have a cover over the button. Also make sure there is a green light by the SOS button to indicate that it is active and can place a call. If not, then you will need to bring the car in for service to assist you.
Hi Frank, Thanks for watching! When you enter an address or POI it should default to the quickest route to the destination, but you can chose from Three Routes on screen before you select the default. Hopefully that will help. Thanks again for tuning in.
Very informative, thank you. My car has some different options however. For example, on the screen I don't have the voice recognition prompts that I can customize. And when I press the voice commands button it says they have not been registered. So how to register them? Thx
Hi Randa, I'm happy to try to help with that. Can you please let me know some more information: - Model and year of your Lexus - Navigation or non-NAV - Model and operating system for your phone - When you are trying to use voice commands, are you plugged in for Android Auto or Apple CarPlay or are you using Bluetooth? Some general tips: - Voice Commands are not customizable. You need to use the established voice command prompts that are listed in your Owner's Manuals. - Voice Commands with Bluetooth, make sure to press and release the Talk button. - Voice Commands with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, make sure to push and hold the Talk button.
Awesome and thorough video. Very helpful. One question I needed help with was why many car manufacturers don't come standard or even offer black roof lining as an option. I would like to know please.
Hi Kagisho! Thanks so much! That is a very interesting question. I'll do some checking and let you know what I find out. Are you asking about the exterior of the roof or the interior fabric lining? Lexus has both. Black interior usually has back fabric roof liner. The panoramic glass roof option that is available on some models is mostly black glass. And there are some special edition builds on some models that have black accents, like the roof and side mirrors. Let me know and I'll inquire :)
@@NorthsideLexus Good day. I was referring to the interior. From the pillars to the entire roof. It comes in beige colour as standard especially for Lexus and Toyota. I did pose the same question to the guys at Lexus South Africa but never got an answer. Thank you.
Got ya. I'll definitely have to see if I can come across anyone who knows. I have black interior, but the headliner is just as you've described, kind of a light cream. I know they always lighting in mind with interior materials. The dash is always dark for example, to reduce glare. Maybe the lighter top liner is more about appearance and make it feel lifted and more spacious? I'll let you know what I find out.
Getting back to you on this one, Kagisho. After doing more research, it seems that the lighter top half is about visibility for the driver and to help reduce heat in areas that are prone to high temperatures. But, looking at our showroom floor this morning I see that Lexus definitely has a lot of vehicles with black headliners. This morning we have: IS F-Sport, GSF, GS F-Sport, RCF and an LS. Maybe check on packaging availability in your area? Look for sport versions and all black interior. Hope this helps :) Thanks so much for watching!
Hi! Make sure you have the RSA feature turned on and the Speed Limit & Traffic notifications turned on for the NAV settings. Hopefully that will solve it for you.
Hi Susan. Glad you like the video! The feature you are looking for was renamed a few years ago. It is now just called "Range." It is located in the Information section of the Multi-Information Display. Check out this section of the video for more details: 27:07 Multi-Information Display (MID Menu) Happy to help!
Hello ! Sister what is the work of EV MODE of lexus rx450h ? If I turn off ECO the lexus become rush. I watched your video about average but u suggest me that how i get excellent average from my wife lexus.
Hi Adeel! Great questions! EV mode is for very limited driving circumstances. It is for lowering emissions and noise pollution in parking structures. I have noticed that if people try to use it a lot, it puts more of a demand on the hybrid battery which then causes the vehicle to use the gas engine more often to maintain the proper hybrid battery charge. This can cost you in fuel economy. For the best fuel economy I recommend driving in ECO mode and press light on the gas and light on the brake. I did a short video about hybrid driving tips a while back. Maybe it will help: th-cam.com/video/nqzYqU7VFbw/w-d-xo.html Thanks so much for watching :)
Hi Dan! Unfortunately that function didn't carry over to the Gen 10 and newer NAV/Multimedia Systems. Beginning in 2020 the RX is now on the Gen 11 system. Sorry I don't have better news for you :(
Hi Raj, It is not possible to unlock features. If the feature does not show on your window sticker and in the settings then it is not on the vehicle. Make sure to check with your Lexus sales person or service consultant if you need more help locating the list of items that came with the package you selected. Thanks so much for watching.
Hi Adeel, Here's what I've found: (It's a LOT of information) I'm using the Lexusdrivers.com site as a resource: drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/resources/owners-manuals?type=om - Up to 32 city / 28 highway (sometimes with a pre-owned vehicle it can take a hwile for the engine intake valves to learn the new driving habits of the new owner or a new octane rating.) - Use Premium Unleaded fuel only (91-96 octane) pg. 641: ■Gasoline quality standards ●Automotive manufacturers in the US, Europe and Japan have developed a specification for fuel quality called the World-Wide Fuel Charter (WWFC) that is expected to be applied worldwide. ●The WWFC consists of four categories that are based on required emission levels. In the US, category 4 has been adopted. ●The WWFC improves air quality by lowering emissions in vehicle fleets, and customer satisfaction through better performance. ■Lexus recommends the use of gasoline containing detergent additives ●Lexus recommends the use of gasoline that contains detergent additives to avoid build-up of engine deposits. ●All gasoline sold in the US contains detergent additives to clean and/or keep clean intake systems. ■Lexus recommends the use of cleaner burning gasoline Cleaner burning gasoline, including reformulated gasoline that contains oxygenates such as ethanol or MTBE (Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether) is available in many areas. Lexus recommends the use of cleaner burning gasoline and appropriately blended reformulated gasoline. These types of gasoline provide excellent vehicle performance, reduce vehicle emissions and improve air quality. ■Lexus does not recommend blended gasoline ●Lexus allows the use of oxygenate blended gasoline where the oxygenate content is up to 10% ethanol or 15% MTBE. ●If you use gasohol in your Lexus, be sure that it has an octane rating no lower than 87. ●Lexus DOES NOT recommend the use of gasoline containing methanol. ■Lexus does not recommend gasoline containing MMT Some gasoline contains octane enhancing additive called MMT (Methylcyclopentadienyl Manganese Tricarbonyl). Lexus DOES NOT recommend the use of gasoline that contains MMT. If fuel containing MMT is used, your emission control system may be adversely affected.
Thanks so much for watching! The model I was in had Obsidian exterior and Parchment NuLuxe® with Matte Bamboo trim interior. Very pretty combination! There is also a Caviar black with that same interior available. Both are very beautiful! Hope this helps :)
@@NorthsideLexus Thank you very much for your answer ! On the web of Lexus, it doesn't show the interior design exactly with "Parchment NuLuxe@with Matte Bamboo trim": the steering wheel does't have bamboo color. The touch-play screen is not the same, it's smaller, do you know why?
It could be different in your area? I'm in Texas in the US. This was the model that was available at the time of filming and those are the options I see when I look up the model for our area. Keep in mind that the features and builds are different across the globe. Make sure to select from what is available in your area. Hope this helps. Also, the pictures on the website are place holders, it will change the exterior color and some of the images for the interior. Sorry it won't let me add a picture in our comments. I do see the same thing that you're describing. The steering wheel they show is probably the base model.
This is so great! Thank you for your excellent tutorial!!! : ) Do you happen to know why the voice activated favorites only display 10 choices? I entered about 25 Favorites in the Navigation/Favorites menu, but only 2 pages of them are available when I say "Go To Favorites". Is there a way to make all 25 available through voice command?
Hi J G! Thanks for watching! That's such a great question. All voice command lists for the native system on the car and for navigations apps in things like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto seem to limit the number of items they will show by voice command and while the vehicle is in motion. There don't seem to be any settings that let you expand that. I'm sure it's a safety precaution. Depending on your phone compatibility try playing with, "Get directions to (contact name)......'s house." Make sure their contact entry has an address properly formatted and showing in the car's list. Right now my phone is also sharing the country and it doesn't always work. I have been using Apple CarPlay more and more and love it on the giant Lexus navigation screen. Well, hopefully you'll have some good options to enjoy. Thanks again!
My dedicated iPod never seems to load the music catalog for voice. No problem seeing stuff on the touch screen for the iPod, but I continue to get the error voice message saying "The music Library is being prepared for voice." Going on for over a week now. Never had this problem on my 2016 and 2018 RXs.
Hi Jeffrey, We are seeing more connection issues with iPods, especially if they have a lot of content. It seems like the library does not push to the vehicles. I've heard of two things to try on the iPod. First, make sure it is backed up so you don't loose your music. Then: - Do a hard reset on your iPod (steps vary depending on your iPod version) - Try a different cord and only plug in to the USB ports under the armrest. (The same one's that you use for Apple CarPlay) -Don't leave the iPod plugged in all the time. When they are over charged the menu does not always function well. - If the loading message clears, try to give a voice command for the first song in your Library (they seem to load alphabetically) I've reached out to some other Lexus Technology Specialists to see if anyone else has any tips. I'll let you know if I find out anything else that might help.
Hi Jeffrey, I have another tip for you to try. Setup - Audio - Gracenote Album Art - Turn it off. That can reduce the content load that the iPod is trying to push tot he car. This issue is apparently a known iPod issue, especially with the iPod Classic. Sorry I don't have a magic setting for you. Hopefully one of these things will help.
i always miss on my 2010 RX at the rear door that it could open automatically by a button but it does only unlock. i can only close it auto with the button in the door

I'm so glad! Thanks very much for tuning in with me to learn about your 2021 RX350L. I have got a Lexus and been looking for tutorials like this. I greatly appreciate you for spending time to make this video.
Thank you so much.
You're very welcome! I'm so glad the videos are helpful :) Thanks for watching!
Just picked up my 2020 RX350 2 days ago. This was an excellent video. You were great in explaining every detail. Otherwise I would be reading the owners manual cover to cover then have to go back to remember what I read.
Awesome, thank you so much for watching and for your vey kind comment! Congratulations on your RX! Happy to help!
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this tutorial. Saves me a lot of time having to go through all the manuals. Learnt bunch of things I didn’t know my 2020 RX has.
Glad it helped! Thanks so much for the great feedback! Enjoy your RX!
Thank you for this! I soooo need this - even four years later. I feel like I'm always learning something new - by mistake - each day. ❤😂
LOL! You made my day! Glad I can help you keep learning and enjoying your RX! It's always good for us to learn, even by mistake :)
Yep! This video is a must see. I keep coming back to learn new things. Loving my 1st Lexus. I'm loving the safety features and obvious thought put into the overall driving experience. It's been a lovely experience. Thank you again for making this! 😊
I know my Lexus salesman would answer any question I have about my car.... HOWEVER this was incredibly comprehensive and helpful. Well done!
Thanks so much! I'm happy to help!
Great tutorial - I learned so much more about my 2020 RX350 than I was informed of at the dealership. Thanks Melissa, you sure know your stuff!!!
You're very welcome! I'm so glad I could help! Thanks so much for watching!
Aww, thanks so much @ster that's very sweet of you. Glad you found the channel and are enjoying the videos! Thanks for tuning in!
Thanks for such a detailed video. I just bought the 2021 Lexus RX450h in Canada and even my dealership did not provide such a detailed explanation. Grateful for this!
You are most welcome! Congratulations on your new RX450h! So glad to help you make the most of your amazing vehicle!
This was the most helpful video for the car! Thank you!
You are so welcome! Thanks so much for tuning in!
Thanks! This is the perfect video for a new Lexus owner like myself! A thorough explanation of a lot of new information. Really appreciate it!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for watching!
Just got a 2019 RX, thanks for this informative video!
I hope you’re able to find all the features that apply to your model! Thanks so much for tuning in with me and congrats on your RX!
My parents just bought a 2020 350 RX and this video was so helpful! Thank you for the details!!!
Glad I could help! I hope they love it!
This was a GREAT idea! I'm an aural person; I learn better hearing and seeing than by reading. The full manual was, quite frankly, burning my brain. I foune this video and am as peace with the learning curve and amazed at what my RX can do!
That's so awesome, Fred! I'm so glad. The owner's manual can definitely be a brain melter lol! So glad to help out :)
I've had several Lexus and the 2020 RX for about 6 months and didn't know all the benefits, gadgets and settings it provided. Definitely a great resource tool!
Great to hear! Thanks so much for watching!
I greatly appreciate your valuable time and efforts that you spent making this informative tutorial. Thank you ❤️

Hi Melissa
Thanks for this great video. I just bought a 2020 RX and this was so helpful. My Lexus dealer went over everything with me, but it’s a lot to absorb all at once. I’m sure I’ll be referring back to your video a few times in the next few days and maybe longer.
Thanks for taking the time!! Super helpful.
Thanks so much @sundown1355! I'm so glad to help you get to know your Lexus better! Enjoy that RX! It's amazing!
Northside Lexus - Ah, that’s why, I have the NAV version. So looks like it probably isn’t possible then?
Hi @@mikelonneman14 ! Sorry for the delay. That's correct. The NAV vehicle doesn't have a Home screen. If you use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto there is a version of a Home Screen, but it is not customizable. With NAV you can turn off the "Auto Screen Change" feature in Menu - Setup - Auto Screen Change - Off. That will allow you to be in charge of what's on the screen. :)

Great tutorial, much better than dealership. is the wheel lock key standard for the rx because i don't have one.

Do you have a review on the 2021 Lexus RX 350 f Sport?
Hi @Nji I'm working on the 2021 RX video this week and hope to have it up by next Tuesday. Fingers crossed. Like the 2020 video, it is a full tutorial for the RX in general and not focused on the F-Sport version. Also, as a heads up, there are no major changes for the RX for 2021. There are some packaging changes and some features are not standard instead of option. I hope this helps you in the meantime. Thanks so much for tuning in.
Regarding changing the Start Up Image, where is the "Customize Images" located after selecting Settings? Thank you.
Hi @CATGUY64, unfortunately when the systems changed to the new generation head units, they remove the capability to customize the startup and screen off images on the vehicles. Sorry I don't have a work around for you on that one. Thanks very much for tuning in with us though.
@@NorthsideLexus ☹️ Thank you.
Hey does custom messaging over voice command work on a 2021 RX my client said she was able to prior to renewing her enform subscription and now two weeks later she can not, will only allow her to send quick replies

how do i activate it in the app? I can see my car in the Lexus app but I cant do remote start or door lock within the App.
it siad that i need to press the SOS but when i press, it doesn’t do anything
Make sure to open the cover for the SOS button if you have a cover over the button. Also make sure there is a green light by the SOS button to indicate that it is active and can place a call. If not, then you will need to bring the car in for service to assist you.
I appreciate your videos. I have a 2020 rx350. I can't find where to set the quickest route in my navigation. Can you help me
Hi Frank, Thanks for watching!
Can you please let me know some more information:
- Model and year of your Lexus
- Navigation or non-NAV
- Model and operating system for your phone
- When you are trying to use voice commands, are you plugged in for Android Auto or Apple CarPlay or are you using Bluetooth?
Some general tips:
- Voice Commands are not customizable.
Hope this helps :) Thanks so much for watching!
i bought my NX 300 in 2019. no issue till lately, noticed the speed camera alerts has disappeared. Are you able to help?
Hi! Make sure you have the RSA feature turned on and the Speed Limit & Traffic notifications turned on for the NAV settings. Hopefully that will solve it for you.
great video, but I still can't find where miles to empty is, can you help?
Hi Susan. Glad you like the video! The feature you are looking for was renamed a few years ago. It is now just called "Range." It is located in the Information section of the Multi-Information Display. Check out this section of the video for more details: 27:07 Multi-Information Display (MID Menu) Happy to help!
Thanks alot
You are most welcome :)
Is there any way to change the start up screen to add a personal image?
Hi Dan! Unfortunately that function didn't carry over to the Gen 10 and newer NAV/Multimedia Systems. Beginning in 2020 the RX is now on the Gen 11 system. Sorry I don't have better news for you :(
I have rx350 fsport series 3 (2020). Tell me how i unlock RSA
on my car? Its not showing in vehicle setting.
Thx
Hi Raj, It is not possible to unlock features. If the feature does not show on your window sticker and in the settings then it is not on the vehicle. Make sure to check with your Lexus sales person or service consultant if you need more help locating the list of items that came with the package you selected. Thanks so much for watching.
Hello ! Sister
What is the total range of rx450h 2010.
Fuel capacity is 72 litre.
Hi Adeel, Here's what I've found: (It's a LOT of information)
I'm using the Lexusdrivers.com site as a resource: drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/resources/owners-manuals?type=om
- Up to 32 city / 28 highway (sometimes with a pre-owned vehicle it can take a hwile for the engine intake valves to learn the new driving habits of the new owner or a new octane rating.)
- Use Premium Unleaded fuel only (91-96 octane)
pg. 641:
■Gasoline quality standards
●Automotive manufacturers in the US, Europe and Japan have developed a
specification for fuel quality called the World-Wide Fuel Charter (WWFC) that
is expected to be applied worldwide.
●The WWFC consists of four categories that are based on required emission
levels. In the US, category 4 has been adopted.
●The WWFC improves air quality by lowering emissions in vehicle fleets, and
customer satisfaction through better performance.
■Lexus recommends the use of gasoline containing detergent additives
●Lexus recommends the use of gasoline that contains detergent additives to
avoid build-up of engine deposits.
●All gasoline sold in the US contains detergent additives to clean and/or keep
clean intake systems.
■Lexus recommends the use of cleaner burning gasoline
Cleaner burning gasoline, including reformulated gasoline that contains oxygenates such as ethanol or MTBE (Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether) is available in many
areas.
Lexus recommends the use of cleaner burning gasoline and appropriately blended
reformulated gasoline. These types of gasoline provide excellent vehicle performance, reduce vehicle emissions and improve air quality.
■Lexus does not recommend blended gasoline
●Lexus allows the use of oxygenate blended gasoline where the oxygenate content is up to 10% ethanol or 15% MTBE.
●If you use gasohol in your Lexus, be sure that it has an octane rating no lower
than 87.
●Lexus DOES NOT recommend the use of gasoline containing methanol.
■Lexus does not recommend gasoline containing MMT
Some gasoline contains octane enhancing additive called MMT (Methylcyclopentadienyl Manganese Tricarbonyl).
Lexus DOES NOT recommend the use of gasoline that contains MMT. If fuel containing MMT is used, your emission control system may be adversely affected.
Thank you very much for your video!
What's interior design color? ( full name) & Model?
@@NorthsideLexus Thank you very much for your answer! Have a great day!
This is so great! Thank you for your excellent tutorial!!! : )
Do you happen to know why the voice activated favorites only display 10 choices?
Then:
- Do a hard reset on your iPod (steps vary depending on your iPod version)
- Try a different cord and only plug in to the USB ports under the armrest. (The same one's that you use for Apple CarPlay)
-Don't leave the iPod plugged in all the time. When they are over charged the menu does not always function well.
- If the loading message clears, try to give a voice command for the first song in your Library (they seem to load alphabetically)
I've reached out to some other Lexus Technology Specialists to see if anyone else has any tips.
Yes, different year models have different capabilities. Enjoy your RX though and thanks for watching!
If I just want to tun on the heat. I just increase the temp but the ac will be on simultaneously so how do I avoid this
Hi Shae! Thanks for watching. You can turn off your AC compressor if you prefer. Here's a short video I did about Climate settings. I hope it helps get you the settings you're looking for: th-cam.com/video/xEPBw0qCOn8/w-d-xo.html
