I love Dany not only because of her whole empowerment journey but because of her complex, mixed-up personality. She's kind, loving, fair, and very empathetic, but also chillingly ruthless & vengeful at times (she's burned and "buried" people alive!), arrogant, and self-righteous. You can so clearly see both sides of her: Targaryen, conqueror, dragon master; and then the orphaned girl who was once a slave herself and has experienced incredible heartbreak and loss. BTW, love the GoT history vids!

Daenerys had nothing at the beginning. no land, no money, no army only a mad brother and the three dragons eggs, she got as wedding present which nobody knows that there are real dragons in it. and she gets the loyalty of the unsullied becouse of her own plan that nobody of her guards know. thats real leadership

I then spent 30 minutes trawling through George RR Martin interviews and realised how much I had failed :D Your genuine passion and enthusiasm for the subject matter makes this vid truly engaging, I look forward to watching more of them! It would be nice to hear more about stuff not mentioned in the show, though :)
one of the details I was upset over was that her hair wasn't burned in the fire. The books had all these lovely details about her hair growing back. To me, it was incredibly symbolic of her innocence being burned away, and growing into a strong independent woman/leader/queen.
Just to go in depth, there was a rebellion within Targaryen House. Blackfyre, which is related to Targaryen by blood rebelled against Targaryen, but they were either killed off or exiled to Essos and later formed Golden Company, which ironically, invaded 200 years later with Aegon as their king.
Pay attention not to her hair! I cant imagine anyone doing better job summarizing the stories so well. She is brilliant! This is coming from someone who thinks 98% of people are mediocre or idiots... She is a real talent!

Well, at least the one good thing that's come from the production of the show is that there are now mass market paperbacks, way cheaper than the larger scale versions! Good luck friend.
