Wow! The Mrs and I were in the exact spot you shot from last week (moored up on Swan Rapture to collect supplies for the shop) and the weather was completely different ! Sun and gentle flow!
I have stopped at Ludham Bridge a few times but never as far back as the gun spigot. I didn't even know it was there. Also, the gun turret isn't something I knew about I will have to check them both out in a couple of weeks. Thanks for another informative vlog.
Booked up for next year, the rain and water levels are getting out of hand. maybe they should make a few more rivers or Broads. as for the broads ive not been in about 3 years , was in Wroxham in a riverside cottage, very nice cottage it was came with a day boat ( great for fishing ),although Time will tell if we will be allowed to go there. last time i was on the broads was with My grandfather, Sadly he passed away a few days after we came home from the broads a few years ago. So i guess his heart was Set in the waterways of the Norfolk Broads :) will be great to experience it again after not so long but long enough to have some serious blues. Ludham bridge is a brilliant stop off point. glad you made this video Thanks!
when we went though here on the 28th sept both the concrete paths under the bridge was covered and we almost went over the port side path, it was a good job we had both bow and stern thrusters so i was able just to give the boat a short blast to get the boat in the middle and away from both paths
You talk of harking back to relatively unspoilt times - where cruisers weren't huge etc, but....have you seen the size of your boat on The Southern Broads?
Yes. But it’s also my home. I don’t go mooring and taking up valuable space on public moorings. My comment was simply aimed at a time when there was choice of boats in sizes. These days very few are smaller.

No that was my mate Andy. We were just unpacking to head out on our Lads Week. This year was just two boats with six people onboard so we were able to fall within the law. Literally handed back boat and Yorkshire went into Tier 2 which if it had come the week earlier would have scuppered our weeks holiday.
You have remarkable skill in your ability to talk without a script and with such devotion to the Broads. and I am in awe of your local knowledge. Happily spending far too much time watching when alternatives like F1 or going on !
