Wire Any unlabeled 3 phase AC motor

I created this video for my Motors and Drives class at CPTC.
Sorry that the explanation isn't clear in some places, I was trying to get through it in one take without a script. Here are some points I could have explained better:
Motor Function:
Coil (A) wraps down to the bottom of the rotor and backs up. The eddy currents going down the stator spin in the opposite direction of the wire returning relative to the rotor. This is what creates (A) and (!A), which is why they're always opposite.

Is there any way to identify the leads in a 12 lead motor? How do you figure out which are 10, 11, 12 without markings? I can't find any videos showing how to identify 12 lead motors. There are several showing 9 lead motors. Thanks

What would happen if you connect 7 to 5 and 8 to 4?

This would create an invalid sequence. Since the second set of coils connected to 7 and 8 run directly next to to the first set connected to 4 and 5, they would create contradicting eddy currents. The stator is supposed to alternate between positive and negative moving in a circular pattern in order to move the rotor. With that configuration, the stator wouldn't create the pattern the motor needs intorder to move in a circle. When you throw the power switch, the rotor would either vibrate back and forth or lock in one position. In that state, the motor is fighting it's self, so it would draw a high amperage> which means heat> which means eventual burnout.
