    Extremely helpful! Took a few listens to understand what i was doing with the leads and marking the wires. Thank you!

    Very beautiful video well done.
    If we have a 12 lead motor and must connected in wye position we follow the same process or is different?
    Thank you very much

    Thanks for the procedure. Worked perfectly.

    Nice video, very informative! One question, How can i identify an Unmarked 12 lead motor?. Can i use the same procedure? With what modifications? The leads are the same colors (black) and with no identification. Thanks in advanced!

    7,8, and 9 are the only THREE that can have continuity together.

    Finding 1&4 - what do yo do if you get two pairs that has similar deflections?

    @gitzed 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You found the three leads that had continuity and randomly marked them 7-8and9. Does it not matter which ones you select as 7-8 and 9.

      No if they have continuity they must be connected

      My understanding is you may be off but they will rotate in the correct direction when found this way. At least that's the experience I've had with my students.

    Hi . Can you help in identifying 3 phase 6 leads wye please ?

    When labeling 7 8 9, does that change the other pairs? If the motor leads were originally labeled as 7 8 9, and you change 7 to 8, 8 to 9, and 9 to 7, will that change which pair is 1&4, 3&6, 2&5?

    Hi Sir,
    Would it affect the test or the motor itself if i use a 24Vdc?

    WYE configuration 3lead has continuity but @ 2: 13 how can you say that leads is 7,8 & 9 you just randomly mark 7,8,9

      Yes it is in fact random, reason being that the leads are in fact marked based on the meter readings in relation of these leads as marked...remember that in a 3 phase "Y" connected motor if the rotation is backwards simply swap any two feeder leads. That's why leads 7, 8 and 9 are random....I wound motors in the Navy and this is the very procedure that we used because after the motors were rewound, they have no markings.

      Each of the three phase windings is essentially the same as the others, just located at a different position in the motor, thus it doesn't really matter which winding set gets assigned which number. The only important thing is the windings in relation to each other, which is what this test sorts out. kind of like arbitrarily deciding to draw a line on the ground and call it zero, measuring everything from that line...
      This is a great video btw, although a bit dense. After watching this 4 or five times I got crazy enough to try it, and IT WORKS! To the people who made this happen, Thank You! I will certainly remember York Repair in the future for any motor rebuilds beyond my meager capability! Great advertising!

    The other end of 7,8,9 connected internally is your internal wye which is numbered 10,11,12.

    PLEASE HELP! I keep getting 2 equally strong deflections and 1 weak deflection in all combinations. What do it do???

  • @lJUSTwanaCOMMENT
    @lJUSTwanaCOMMENT 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    First I would like to thank you for your efforts and for this guide. But the guide is a little confusing. It states that 1 & 4 will have little to no deflection when flashing 7 & 8. Same with 3 & 6 flashing 9 & 7. This is a simple error on your website I assume, yes?

    Hello sir good evening, i just only ask a question, the voltmeter set in 2.5v dc? Or 2.5v ac? It is dc? Just correct me if I'm wrong, thank you sir. I just take a screenshot.
