- This is a short video about the new Leica M11-P. I show the unboxing of my own Leica M11-P, show everything that's in the box and I provide a tutorial on first steps and setting up the camera in the menu so you get a complete walk through all menu settings.
@9:44 I reference a video on my channel on the ISO invariant sensor of the Leica Q3, unfortunately without a remark on context. Although the sensor in the Leica Q3 is not exactly the same as the sensor in the Leica M11 and M11-P, the sensors are very similar, both ISO invariant and the Q3-sensor is not more than a further improved and fine-tuned M11-sensor.

Got mine on the way after owning the M11 and M11M. I almost got another M11. Dreamed of having a two camera setup for street with my 28 summicron and another one with my 50 Apo!

Mate, that was a fantastic video as always. I’ve got mine as well, using an Apo 50mm and my M11 will stays with the 0.95 Nocti. Thanks to your videos I bought the x2d whilst waiting for the m11p 😂 thanks Math and keep your hard work, much appreciated

I was looking for content credentials since I got my m11-P .
Indeed, my M11-P had no content credentials out of box, it really needed the new firmware which is available for download at the Leica website.
Always great videos. I watched it to see the menu wonderful similarities of my fantastic Leica Q3. It's reaffirming to see what a great product in these cameras are. Super great and worth every penny. Leica makes me so happy. Crème de la crème. Keep it up math photographer. You're an inspiration to us all.

Great video, smart menu choices, couldn't agree more (besides the 36MP instead of 60MP but as you said you wanted to check out the sensor and I use peaking color green or red depending on what I photograph, never used blue)
Beautiful camera, personal choice, P always over Standard (when available)

Thanks RS, it is a really wonderful camera. If I would not always want to get my hands on every new gear from Leica immediately, I should actually always wait for the P-version, always a bit better and superior. Have a nice Sunday!

Hello, does the surface of the M11-P Black the same as M11 Black or is it like M11 Monochrom where thicker coat of paint was applied. Or does the surface like M10-P?

Have you had your M11 freezing sometimes ? And do you know when and if Leica will make an new firmware to clear this problem I have. Version 2.0.2 Firmware.
Do we know if the sensor readout speed has improved since the M!!?
No - sensor readout time is the same.
Hi Math i just got my M11P before Christmas but experience problem that the camera freezes after 2-3 shots. Need to pull out the battery and re insert to start again. Then flashing message on the screen “SD card error”. I keep trying to shoot but these messages continue to appear and i can’t press the shutter and i have to pull out the battery and re insert.
Very frustrating. Please comment. Thanks Math.
Hi Benny, this is very frustrating, I can imagine. There are a few things you should check please. First, is the newest firmware on the camera body? In case of doubt, please re-install in the way Leica describes in the firmware manual which is on the same website as the firmware itself. Second, try different SD cards. Take a high value card like I use, e.g. Tough Series from Sony. Are these two steps fixing the issue? If not, please approach Leica directly via your trusted store or via email to the headquarters. I do not have freezing on mine so you should also not have it. Best wishes!

How many 128gb SD card do you recommend for the Leica M11 ? 👍
As said in the video, I almost always go for the Sony Tough for quite some years already.
The cable is a mistake, the new IPHONE 15 PRO MAX has USB C, but Leica does not!
Why they call it black paint doesn't look like it will brass or similar to the old black paint

Working hard :) I do not have a Swiss or overly bad German accent because I lived in so many places, including the US, New Zealand, Switzerland, Germany, etc.

$10k for a computer masquerading as an M camera? Hahahahaha. Get an iPhone 15 etc and stop justifying your foolishness. And/or get an M-A. A real M camera.
