    I was a mantainer on those Helicopters. They were attached to HSL-37 "Easyriders" in Oahu. I was super excited to see them when I saw this in the theaters.

    No matter how bad it gets, even when the shit is hitting the fan and blowing it up, stand tall - until Bruce Willis tells you to get down.

    USMC 2015, 0311 2nd Battalion 4th Marines vet here. When I trained in Okinawa for jungle warfare, (at that time) I had an M4A1 with Trijicon MRO red dot 1x zoom, suppressor, ERGO foregrip and an AN/PEQ-16 attached. Some had 203s and/or Trijicon ACOGs 4x zoom as well. Not sure what SEALs rock or what is used now currently, but this is what I had/used. The rifle that Lake uses (the guy shot by the sniper in the beginning) is a similar set-up to what I used.
    Edit: Crayon eater typos fixed

    A quick note on the M-14 (the weapon my Dad qualified as "Expert" with as a Navy dentist upon his return from Vietnam): the SEALS today (some of em anyway) still employ the M-14 as a sniper sysytem. And if my memory of this movie serves correctly, the guy carrying the M-14 IS one of the team's snipers.

    It's a good week. I picked up 50 rounds of 7.62 x 54mm for my 1906 Mosin or as known in America as Mosin-Nagant.

      Nice mate, what's the plans to make them weigh less?

    • @eddiehaskell1957
      @eddiehaskell1957 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RandomGary I just now saw your reply. I've been in the hospital. The way i've made them lighter is fire the weapon down range. They are instantly lighter. Seriously, i haven't a clue. Also i'm using surplus ammunition because it's cheap and readily available in the U.S. The downside is cleaning the weapon immediately after putting rounds through it. Do you have a suggestion on better ammo that's not to expensive? You probably won't see this because you've moved on.

    • @billallen4793
      @billallen4793 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Mosin Nagant doesn't need to weigh less! It makes a better club if you run out of ammunition! If I try to butt-stroke someone with a plastic AR it'll be in several pieces! That's why the buttstock has a metal part on the end. My 1866 Winchester Yellow boy in 44-40 has a similar buttplate, only with a sharper curve where it rests against the shoulder. I love my Nagant, and SKS's. I also love soviet vehicles, especially their heavy truck's...from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 🤠

    I love this movie but agree 100 percent on the criticism. In the US infantry we use "I'm up, he sees me, I'm down" as well. Also we did not fire while moving, granted these were SEALs, but still. On the other hand, look at the grass they were assaulting through. They probably couldn't see a foot in front of them, forcing them to fire on the move. Just a thought.

    you would never hear him say get down. These guys are really close together. in the jungle i would like an ak47 or pk of some kind. 223 dont far well in a jungle situation i feel the round is too light no matter how fast its goin. plus half of these m16s/m4s have cans on them, so if they are shooting a subsonic round its already going slower. putting greentips in a m4 with a can doesnt really cut down on the noise alot.

    Hey Gary, any chance you could react to the battle scenes from the Canadian film "Passchendaele"? It's overall a low budget movie with a sappy romance plot, but it has some of the most intense hand to hand combat I've seen depicted in a WW1 film. There are 0 reactions to it on TH-cam.
