He is so proud of being from the working class as if it's smth honourable. What is the difference. Working class makes objects, middle class makes money, upper class makes people. But he can't decide to which of them he belongs as he can't do any of them properly.
I'm a doctor and I make people, I'm working class, though I make some money. But I don't care about class system as I was born in the USSR. What I can't make properly is money. He wants to be upper class, but he is from Labour party so he tells about working class relatives as if this makes any difference.
He is a lawyer and would be upper class if he worked fairly in accordance with decency. But he is still working class as he makes objects in his profession. Pity. But reality.
