@@ritawashere5787 Just to be clear, practicing physicians and psychiatrists have medical degrees. You can demand people to address you as Dr even if you have a PHD in philosophy, but doing it in a hospital is kinda phony (she is supposedly just a psychologist, although many psychologists are extremely successful. Dr Phil for example is a very successful psychologist and I'm not sure if he has a medical degree). I can't find the segment where this video made fun of her for demanding to be addressed as "Dr" because it's quite a long video (it's somewhere first half portion), but I'm pretty sure that this is what the video is poking fun of during that segment. In other words, she is a psychologist pretending to be a psychiatrist 😉

I completely agree! I actually had one I really liked and trusted, until she told me her office was closed and we needed to meet somewhere, how bout therapy over dinner? So I agreed. During this time, I had been going through a ton of stress and had randomly lost a ton of weight, and I had a weird thought and was going through my in-laws claiming I had eating disorders and such, which obviously the therapist knew about. I told my husband “what if she’s doing this to see if I have an eating disorder, wouldn’t that be weird?” So while we’re at dinner, I made a joke about It, and she said “well actually… that was a reason…” I couldn’t go back to her after that. And I obviously “proved” I eat, and I’m not running to the bathroom to purge after eating. I’m going through the process of attempting to find a good therapist now; as well.

My mom worked for a world renowned therapist and his advice in seeking professionals in the field was this ; During the first visit, any good therapist will listen, then state the issues at play and then outline a plan in which you two will go over, address and work through these issues. Without that happening the therapist is likely never going to actually help other than being a vent for you. Therapy sessions are mostly designed for the purpose of learning and obtaining tactics to be able do deal with stressors in our day to day lives, without that, again you are simply paying someone to talk and listen.

My brother was a police sergeant in a small town in Kansas. My mom was visiting him and got cited for speeding by one of his officers. She didn't say anything to the officer, just took the ticket. When my brother found out, he was upset that she didn't call him. She told him if she had called and he got her out of the ticket, what would his officers think of his integrity. He agreed and she ended up paying the ticket. He did take her out for a really nice dinner, though.

I respect your opinion on the many good officers who do the job in a professional manner but that being said there is a good reason people are losing respect for law enforcement, starting with the many abuses that they inflict on the general public because they have become aware that they can basically get away with breaking the law, if you don't believe me just look at the many TH-cam videos of police misconduct.

I've worked as a drug counselor for probationers and parolees, federal pretrial, supervised release, etc, at a drug program. Most of the ex-cons I've worked with are more responsible and accountable than these two.
This is a classic criminal mentality, though. To these two, the conflict is not about what actually happened, it's about how _you_ _can't_ _prove_ _I_ _did_ _it_ . Rules and laws are just suggestions that suckers follow. They often believe that _everyone_ is violating the rules or scamming others. The criminal mentality means they lack the insight to understand how they are the ones origination pain. They struggle to understand that they are in these situations because of their own actions, and not because of random misfortune, or because _you_ treated them unfairly.
Most average people, they look at stuff that happens in their life, and they see it mix of environmental factors and their own decisions. For example, let's say I got laid off from my job. I might think '10% of the blame is on my coworker who screwed up the project, 20% of the blame is on me for underperforming last year, 50% of the blame is on the fact that market is bad,' etc. Counselors call this a 'responsibility pie.'
The criminal mentality will typically think they are 0% responsible fpr anything bad. Therefore, _you_ must 100% responsible for what's happening to them. For example: It's not about how she actually drove and violated traffic laws. That's inconsequential. To her, 100% of the blame lays with the officer stopping her. He has unfairly targeted her, he is harassing her, he's freely choosing to ticket her for no good reason, etc. Her behavior has no role in what's happening, in her mind.
If you have it bad, this mentality takes a lot of lot of hard work to change. Sometimes criminals are humbled by life events or the imprisonment. Some people never get it, though.
