I'm a big fan of your videos. At 73 yrs old I remember having a button box. Back in the day I think most people had one and a little sewing box. Mine was usually a old cigar box. We had to repair our clothes then. Including sewing patches on ripped jeans. Lol 😆 now we buy them ripped!
We still mend clothes, I have a pile waiting for me! I have several sewing boxes including my late mother-in-law’s, which I cherish.
I'm 74 & had a button jar. Yes, ripped & expensive!🙂
I still have a button box!
My 88 year old mother still has her button jars.
I have jars with several old buttons. Reminds me of times with my Great Grandma
I am 68 and I remember going through the button jars of my mom,on Sunday if I was bored. I must have been about 6 years old. Love that a lot of people remember doing this as a child.🙏🏻😊
They come with free salt and pepper....
Jocelyn, you make me laugh, I love your comments.
Thank you for letting us come shopping with you. Take care 🩷
You should glue magnets to the backs of the buttons and put them all of your mini fridge!
My hubby always teases me for religiously watching your videos. He asked if I wanted to go thrifting this weekend for our anniversary😊 Now I already knew, but that’s love, lol. I am so lucky!
Thank you so much for showing the buttons. I’m with you-there’s something about a jar of buttons-irresistible.
You can call me your button daddy Andrew cracks me up 😂
Once in awhile he has a funny lol
Thank you for letting us explore your button jars with you!
I'm so glad you showed us the buttons. I'd love it if you'd do this with the baggies you buy. We'd love to see everything that's in them
I’ve seen bracelets made with vintage buttons. I love them.
What a great idea, I’ve never seen a button bracelet. Now I have a project... 😊
The new shop has such a good atmosphere. It is so bright and cheery 🙂
The tiles I use in the house. I put my plants on top of them. They protect my furniture.
I believe theyre actually trivettes.
@@melissaphelps6622
I think they are trivets. They work great under plants. I use them outside too under my plants. Each one is so unique.
Love looking at the buttons! We used to string buttons on yarn while my grandma sewed. Brought back a lot of memories.😊
Buttons have a story all their own I always enjoyed going through my mother's and grandmother's tins! A lot of memories
My grandmother had her mother's buttons. Some dated to the early 1800s.
The new space looks incredible. Can't wait to see the entire video
Button daddy got me coughin a lung up here!!! God luv ya Andrew aka Drew!
Loved Mom's button tin. Dice is plural. A single is a die.
I think a "Hamburger" is a person from Hamburg, Germany, but I don't know about the other word. Interesting, especially knowing I could possibly/ probably be wrong.
The new e-commerce place looks amazing! I love it!!!
My mama had a button box. It’s the one thing my daughter asked for when mama passed. My daughter remembered digging through mama’s button box when she was a little girl.
Loved your vacation videos! You always make me laugh with your dry sense of humor. Laural is a hoot! Definitely has a mind of her own. That's a good thing as Martha Stewart would say.
I believe that the button jars were actually made to be a “Look and Find” jar you used to see them in Dr. offices to occupy time . Used to have a list attached of items to find in the jar.Great for the kids!
“Inspiration from the wood section” strikes again! ❤❤❤
I have my grandmas buttons on display in a clear glass jar. I love them so much ❤❤❤
The Pearlie Kings and Queens of Britton decorate their jackets with buttons
I swear fingering buttons is meditative. My mom, sister, and I would dump a big jar of buttons on the table and rifle through them as we chatted and had coffee.
I love ur new space! looks great 😊. I was hoping you would share the button jars in the video, great finds. ❤
"Button Daddy" that's Andrew coming to with another memorable phrase to your channel. ❤😂
19:38 I really enjoyed looking at all of the buttons. I also remember going through my grandma’s buttons when I was a little girl. Great memories! Thank you! 😊
Love the pink holt Howard bowls! I love to find jars of buttons! My mom sewed a lot in the 70’s and 80’s and had a shoe box full of buttons that she gave me when I got married 23yrs ago. I have no idea what I did with it 🤦🏻♀️ btw I love that color shirt on you!
I died laughing at Andrew's comment!
I would give my children the tin of buttons while I prepared dinner. They are good for learning; sort by size, color, counting etc. I also put some magnets on a few chosen ones and gave them as gifts. Thanks for the memories💜
My granddaughters and I love going through old buttons!
I loved the button daddy comment. I also loved playing with buttons when I was little. The ones you got are so colorful. I bet you will have fun playing with them.
Good finds. The buttons brought back memories. 😊
My grandmother collected buttons..crafters will love them..they make beautiful Christmas trees on a piece of felt
Ohio Antique brothers just stocked a lot of different stoppers in a glass case last week. They said it was their last ones left. Maybe you can get in touch and let them know what kind you need.
Berner Brother's Antiques @ the Heart of Ohio Antique Mall? I watch their videos all the time, especially if Jocelyn's on one.
I get super excited when a video goes up❤ yay!! watching 🎉
I bought buttons like that once and had a homemade card of buttons labeled from Civil War uniforms! 😊❤
The buttons are fun, my grandmother had jars of them along with jars of marbles. I wish I had them!
mom had buttons and bits of old jewelry lots of this and that, some from my grandmother. They were in what we called the button box, but it was a tin cookies came in. Lots of fun!
The new shop is looking great!
I used to love looking through my Mom's button collection when I was a kid, although hers weren't as eclectic as the ones you found. Great video as always, thanks Jocelyn! 👍🏼
I loved looking through my grandmothers buttons!!! What a fun memory unlocked 🥰🥰🥰
Hey, hey, hey it’s button daddy!😂😂😂
Oh my that little girl figure was just Sooooooo adorable 🥰
BTW your new space looks fabulous ❤❤❤
Trivia...or supervelous information: A die (noun) was originally the term for the 6-sided cube used in games. Its plural is dice.
I loved going through my mom’s button box when I was a kid! I know people collect them!
I collect vintage buttons, mainly Czech glass, some go for good money. Fun find!
I use some in book style bracelets
What is a book style bracelet,l ask because l also collect vintage buttons
@@deenadichmont5584 sorry auto correct changed it. Should have said BOHO style
Nice and fun haul, Jocelyn. I'll be in your area again in early September and who knows, maybe I'll run into you again when I'm on the 'Crazy Lamp Lady Trail' again! 😂
Oh and if you look closer at that die...it is indeed a button. It has holes in it. One of the holes is on the 6 side and the other is probably in the center of the dot on the 1 side.
Buttons are a pain to get nowadays. You have to order them, especially for anything a little different. Nicer ones can be pricey. Sewers would love those jars.
Mom has a button tin and I loved playing with them. By the way dice is plural, a single is a die.
Fun to go through the buttons with you. My grandmother has a bunch of buttons in a box in a drawer that I inherited. I'll have to look through them! 😊
I strung button with rope to make tree garland
JoAnn Fabrics sells a jar like that (but of similar color I think) for $10 to $13 each. Walmart also sells them but not sure how much. Amazon has them for $8 plus ship. I bought a mixed bag of buttons from Goodwill I think $3.99 and I have used it quite a few times to fix missing buttons on my clothing and clothing I sell online too. You are right, it is fun to go through. In mine I found some old military buttons. If I ever get desperate for $ I can probably fish those out and try to sell on line too. :-).
The new space is beautiful. I know you will enjoy working there.
When I see a reasonably priced jar of buttons I'll buy them, the jars at antique malls are usually expensive. Love buttons thanks for sharing!
I love that you pick up Tom Clark gnomes. My mom had a large collection she started to buy in the 80s. She had so many collections of different things. When she sold her house we had a three day estate sale, this was before I started reselling. I took a few of the gnomes for myself and still pick them up when sourcing.
My mom had a big coffee can full buttons. I did the same thing you did when I was little. Totally forgot about it until you mentioned it. Great memories. Love love love your videos.
Trachten is a term for folk outfits and clothes. Each canton, town or area got their own costumes. These are German, upper one from Hamburg, but same in Austria for example.
So much fun sorting through button jars.🤗
Amazing price on the buttons. I've never been able to pass up a deal on old buttons, so I have way too many. I use old canning jars to separate colors and display, and as a sewist, I always go to my stash of "old" buttons for any new sewing project. The old "pearl" buttons are soo much better on blouse/shirts than today's plastic buttons.
Thank you for Sharing. I remember going through my mother's button stash, it was always so much fun. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
Love the buttons. I work in a creative reuse center (thrift shop) and would be thrilled with those buttons. I'm so jealous.
Now that you've gone through the buttons I'm even more jealous. Thanks for sharing!
What size suit jacket does Andrew wear? Pls? I’m so going to find an old suit Jacket and sew buttons all over it and maybe a few bells. 😂😂😂. He’s funny with his dry humor. I use to love to play with my grandmas button jars. She always had great ones. We would do all sorts of things with them. But she would always look me right in the face and make sure I was listening to her and tell me that I couldn’t break them or lose them that she would know because she knew all of her buttons. lol. She taught me to sew on my first button when I was approx 3 yrs old. She was my mama grandma.
Those buttons are so fun. I love the sea shells. You might want to check to see if any of the black buttons are jet glass. They used to use them on clothing for mourning.
Soooo glad to see the longer videos are back...thank you. Hope you had a great vacation!
I love the tile trivets at the beginning! Very nice. I have sold those before! 🎉
I use vintage buttons in making jewelry. I use them as a clasp for leather & suede pieces as well as several wired together as brooches & pendants. Great deal on the jars of buttons!
I like button jars. It reminds me of digging thru my Mothers & my Grandmothers sewing drawers. I have a couple jars filled with theirs & my own collection. Got to start somewhere ! 😃😇
I like that goodwill, lots of goodies at a fair price, thats getting more rare as time goes on. Havent seen yall hit up any flea mkts for a long time , i miss those. New shop is lookin so good.
You can make some really cool stuff with all those buttons!
Nice to see you back at The Most Magical Goodwill in All the Land. Hope your vacation was nice.
Love the buttons!
I don’t know where my grandmother’s button box went to, but I absolutely love that you bought those buttons. Thank you.
I love the button jars!
Your button jars are fantastic! Buttons can be very pricey!
New space is gorgeous 😍
I would have had so much fun with those buttons!!!
I'm always a fan of a good old fashioned button jar! ❤
Old buttons are just so tactile. I love them! All I wanted to do was get in there and start sorting.
You can make bracelets with those buttons. Next time your thrifting look for suspenders or elastic belts. cut to elastic to size plus seam allowance, sew on buttons. sew ends together by hand. use button thread because it's stronger.
I love ❤ your new place. And your buttons in jars are so nice, i would do a bag or a pillow or a frame decorated with them.
I really love old buttons, so it was cool that you bought those button jars. I have some neat ones that I’m going or planning to turn into jewelry should be interesting to see how it all turns out.
Some much fun stuff, the jars of buttons, & the little girl where so cute.❤
I loved my grandmother buttons living in south Louisiana my mother in law always had a big can of beads my kids loved them ❤
I have my gramma's old button jar. We used to make button bracelets with them. It was so much fun. We also would use them in our beaded bracelets. The new shop is looking amazing!!! SO happy for you. Hugs and blessings.
I still have my grandmothers and mothers button box, I’m now a grandmother and cannot part with them 😂
The spiral b&w buttons would make creepy cool eyes for a Halloween doll
Love the shirt. May I ask where you found it?
Love the buttons! Drew has gone from the bell song to becoming button daddy. lol he’s adapting to the times!
My mom had a jar of buttons
And I think she still has them in the same jar 🫙 for over 50 years ❤ love your videos God bless 🙏
Who doesn't like a good button collection! Great find.
"Button Daddy" love it!!!!!
I love buttons. My grandson loved going through my buttons. And i have a lot of jars full . And i went through my granny's .and that is some of the buttons i have .
Those buttons match your nail arts, lovely
My mom hot-glues old buttons onto lampshades- super cute.
The buttons is a great project for Juliette to sort through and make matches lol
I used to love sorting my Grandma's buttons!!!
I liked how you reached in fire and pick up that yellow blown ornament. Nice move and you got something.
My great grandma had a huge tin of buttons we’d go looking though as our entertainment as kids. ♥️
Thanks for showing us the buttons!
Don’t know why, but sorting a container of old buttons is so satisfying ❤
