I was looking through items to create an avatar yesterday and accidentally stumbled upon bdsm gear and items that can be put together to make characters from actual pornographic videos. There's this succubus character with her own little porn series called Meru. You can literally make her on Roblox. That's not okay at all! My nephews are 6 and 8 years old and they play roblox. It's one of their favorite games. What if they find this stuff on the catalogue and out of curiosity, as children tend to have, look up that Meru character and find out where she's really from. This stuff should NOT be on a platform where children as young as 6 play on almost daily. It's disgusting and roblox needs to fix it.
Public UGC was a very good idea but the moderation of it is horrible, this allowed my friend to make good UGCS for people and make a group about it, for me it was good to make custom accessories for myself and allow more customization
Even before, and still to this day there's inappropriate stuff in require script games, what they do is they import some code using require function So if you wanted to use this cool feature somewhere you risked seeing sus stuff, and it was everywhere

This happens seemingly because of many many misconceptions about a multitude of different things such as grooming, pedophilia, roblox's nsfw epidemic etc. Roblox in the past has made statements directly about this but no one has cared. For example in several statements for child safety roblox BEGS the parents of children to use parental controls and monitor their child's online interaction as a majority of the grooming of children happens completely off the roblox website and there is nothing roblox can do about it. Roblox cannot stop your child from being groomed if 100% of interactions happen through discord. That is a DISCORD epidemic and there is no true way to stop it. No amount of roblox moderation can prevent it. * "Inappropriate roblox activity" part 2, avatars: Back to the point of roblox avatars themselves being inappropriate. Alot of the time its immature people being angry about breasts or things THEY specifically are attracted to (specifically covered, no cleavage is allowed but completely covered breasts are 100% allowed on roblox and always have been). Years ago roblox banned breast t shirts because there was no way to ensure these t shirts would be completely covered or used for covered clothing or nudity thus they were blanket banned. The act of having (covered) breasts on roblox is not a punishable offense nor should it be, roblox has allowed men to show off theirs (completely uncovered) for 18 years. Imagine if on roblox the act of having a male avatar with arms showing skin was a bannable offense because people were attracted to it and considered it inappropriate to the platform. There is nothing wrong in girls wanting to represent themselves more through a sandbox (in a non nsfw way) and its been shown to be profitable for roblox for a long time. Lastly, I saw a comment by another user talking about how you can make meru the succubus on roblox and this is a perfect example of people having no clue what real roblox issues look like. Meru wears a plain canada hoodie and shorts, red skin and long straight hair. Are you gonna ban every canada hoodie because a fictional character wears them? Might as well ban doctor outfits because johnny sins wore one in his pornos one time. No 6 year old child with good parents would know who either of these people are and neither would they be negatively affected by seeing someone who is only innately nsfw by your own contextual understanding of her. This is an example of people's own nsfw experiences and prejudice warping their view of certain outfits and aesthetics that cause them to lash out in ignorant ways. TL;DR There is no issue with current roblox ugc by itself, any issues with things that actually need to be banned ( not canada hoodies and shorts) are to be fixed by roblox improving their notoriously flawed moderation. Roblox users also seem to like complaining about things that they don't know much about (or even participate in) as well.

I've not really seen many avatars that felt like they used them properly -- they've always had an oddly objectified feeling, especially with how large & unrealistic the "breast" accessories tend to be, even if covered. Most other female players I've met feel the same. We can see it for what it is, it's an excuse to make "sexy" woman outfits, and that's what they'll be used for 99% of the time. For every person that uses them properly, there's at least 50 who use them to make their "female" avatar look "hot." Also, I think it's worth noting that shirts/pants with boob shaders (where the chest was 100% "covered" by clothing technically) were never really allowed either, if I recall correctly. Most ended up being deleted. If you look it up you can see people's screenshots of such items being removed from the catalog and deleted from the game lol

Here's my take on limited ugc replicas. They're fine, as long as they are easily distinguishable by either the looks, or the name. No digital item can be worth over $60, and you can't change my mind on that. If I someone likes the way a limited item looks, they should be able to get a replica of it. And for anyone who says "it devalues the original item", if you can distinguish it by name or by looks, then no, it does not devalue it.

As a person that frequently makes their own ugc accessories, public ugc was not a mistake. Not our fault there are idiots that waste their opportunity to make highly customized and high quality models. Besides why isn't anyone making videos on 2D clothing? I'd argue 2D clothing is 10000x worse given the fact I've seen far more heinous shit in that section than I ever did with ugc accessories. "OH NO, I SAW A VAGUE SHAPE OF A WOMAN'S CHEST", big whoop, grow up. "OH NO, MY RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE LIMITEDS ARE BEING COPIED AND RE-UPLOADED FOR MORE REASONABLE PRICES", get over it, its just a bunch of cosmetic pixels, not a fucking bar of gold. "OH NO, PEOPLE ARE UPLOADING UGLY CRINGE ACCESSORIES", mind your business and don't buy them. "OH NO, PEOPLE ARE UPLOADING COPYRIGHTED CHARACTERS" aside from legality, what's the issue, you want to stop people from playing as their favorite characters from other forms of media?
Instead of worrying about stupid trivial crap like I just listed above, how about we focus on the more serious issue at hand, the fact that people can literally abuse the report system to mass report a ugc creator's accessories to get them deleted, and then re-upload that same deleted accessory on the person's account that mass reported the original creator. That's the real fucking issue we should be discussing, because unlike the stuff I listed, people are getting hurt by this new concept of asset theft, they are losing their money to actual cyber terrorists.
