I had the SE wifi and ended up trading in for the cellular version. I now go to the gym with it. I get make and receive calls, text message, track my workouts, i downloaded 4 playlist on the watch but I can stream too and I connect my AirPods pro with noise cancellation. I just didn’t like carrying my phone everywhere.
Personally I believe the cellular model should be the cheaper model because you have to activate the watch with a cellular carrier and that's a recurring payment every month and Apple could then charge the carriers to activate the watch and in turn make more money because more people would get the cellular model if it's cheaper.
Long as you don’t take a promotion when you get it you can cancel that line, I’ve always had the cellular model but I always cancel the line after a month or two
This year in the US the major cellular carriers are subsidizing the cellular version by $100. Made it worth it for me to try cellular again (I was an early adopter with the series 3 cellular)
If you were to buy a cellular model from apple, do you have to activate the cellular right away? Or can you just use the gps and wifi capability until you wanted to activate the cellular. Cause I rather get the cellular and activate it later down the road then get the gps and not have the option at all.
Let’s be honest here; who uses all the features from the series 7. The only thing most of us use it for is; the time and notifications and that’s it. Nothing else.
LTE is nice because I can go to the gym or run or cut my lawn with empty pockets yet still have my AirPods in and get full access to podcasts and Apple Music
My advice, go for AW SE GPS. Why SE? It's just perfect and decent for daily use. You don't need a watch that can read ECG & SPO2 because those readings weren't as accurate as the readings on the machines in hospital. All it can do is to read, but not interprets. Let the doctors do their jobs. Why GPS? Why pay extra dollars just to leave your iphone at home? 😂
I picked up a 6mo old SE 44mm with LTE a week back at 60% of the store cost, and already now I know I will not regret LTE. Went with the SE as I wasn’t sure I would like having a smart watch. But I am loving it.
Cellular version is a must for me. Especially when walking my dogs . I have to carry poop bags , snacks , and water bottle for them just not enough pockets.
@@wilsonsze1862 yes that is one major issue. I turn off all day display and turn off any unnecessarily notification and back ground app refresh that is not important. Im only away from my phone 3-4 hrs daily gym and walking my dog. Only thing that kills my batteries is streaming music thru my airpod. You just have to figure out when to charge depends on your routine. I tend to charge during shower and eating. With new fast charging thats usually enough for me.
It’s pronounced SELL-you-lur because they love to sell you the additional plans for the watch. But I think it’s worth it for the freedom of not bringing phone on runs/walks.
When the series 8 comes out, I will be going back to the GPS Version. I did a test once and I left my phone home and went to work with just the watch. Watch didn’t even make it through a 8 hour day and it pretty much died with 2-1/2 hours left in the work day. If I leave my desk and keep the phone there locked in my desk drawer and go to a meeting either 3 floods up, or if it’s a nice day out and we have them outside, my watch always shows the disconnected (Red X) icon and then I have to swipe up from the bottom, click on the cell icon, switch it off and then switch it back on bout 30 seconds later and then it shows the green cell service connected. I will again be going back to the GPS edition of the AW series 8. And if anybody was wondering, my watch is a Series 6 with the latest software update.
Cellular is good for runners. Especially older people like me (48) who still want 911 access in an emergency. Nice to be able to not have the phone flopping around in a pocket or in a case on your arm. It definitely seriously compromised battery life though.
Will apple watch without cellular be able to recieves direct call when phone is nearby but there's no internet connection (through phone data or wifi)?
Will apple watch without cellular be able to recieve notifications when iphone is connected to cellular data but apple watch is not connected to internet, but the phone is nearby? Like phone is in my pocket with internet connection through mobile data.

I am thinking more and more cellular but I have to get it at the apple store and not at T-Mobile . I just need Apple care and not all the other crap they offer with the Apple care.
If you get it at tmobile you can get it sometimes less than at the apple store and they will set it up for you, and also get your line and phone number for the watch and get that running as well. If you're concerned with Applecare, be aware you have up to 14 days to sign up in the app or visit the apple store. There will be a deductible to pay should you need assistance or repair work done.
