  • I have been using the Apple Watch Series 7 daily for the past three months now and while I was initially impressed by Apple's larger display watch when I first used it, I have some updated thoughts about using the watch after multiple months of testing and using it through software updates and fixes, and some more findings on just how good this watch is from its design, features, battery life, and durability.

I came from the series 1 on release date to the series 7 and the watch just feels massive, premium, and like the best and coolest purchase I’ve made. I never thought an upgrade would be this satisfying

I went from the Series 3 to Series 7, and I think it was a pretty nice upgrade. My Series 3 started to feel clunky at about the 30 month mark after one of the mid year security updates (which is really what slows ALL these devices down). Unless there was some quiet hardware upgrade that occurred to prevent the sluggishness, I'm very surprised that Apple kept the Series 3 as an option for as long as they did.

I ended up upgrading from a Nike AW2 to a Black Titanium AW7. The AW7 is in Space Black which is a “Diamond Like Coating” (DLC) that is one of the most durable and scratch resistant finishes, and provides a great match for the black link bracelet which also has a DLC finish!

I had 2 apple watches before this one series 3 and series 5 and upgraded to my series 7 2 months ago and am loving it. I can see so much better on it and am trying to use all the perks that it came with. It’s so much more than a watch to me.

First time user of the apple watch and I went with the Series 7 Graphite Stainless steel with the Milanese loop. I think it is fantastic. Nice weight to the watch although for working out I switch to the sport band. Looks and feels premium and great exclusive watch face designs that you can’t get on the series 6. Overall very impressed.

Coming from a super slow, 38 mm Series 3 for about 2 months shy of 3 years…not to mention the fact that I forgot downloading Watch apps were a thing because of the looooooow low memory…upgrading to the Series 7 has been great, and I don’t regret it a bit. While I do wish the battery life was better (my S3 was at 94% battery health before trading it in, and I haven’t seen much of a difference so far👀…), I use the fast-charging feature often throughout my day, and since I sleep with my Watch on every night, I appreciate the fast-charging even more ‘cause there are times I forget to charge it before getting ready for bed.

Hi Greg, I am a subscriber since 2021. I am still stuck with apple watch 3, the reason is because, when I got my apple 3, I did not see any warning that when I get a call, text messages, my phone will not ring only on the Apple Watch, but I miss mostly the text messages, coz I can’t hear it or not loud enough. I did ask apple support and they say that’s how it is. So I am reluctant to upgrade, Does the new 7 and SE still have the same problem?

I came from a series 6 to a 7 45mm and though not much difference my big decision was the keyboard and bigger screen that I decided to go with 7 I’ve tried so many 3rd party keyboards over time and they just sucked and wouldn’t work the way I hoped and had to take extra steps to use them. I’m very happy with my series 7 and I use it daily for things like reminders, phone, text, podcasts and music hehe(can’t forget those things lol) among other things they are very useful. I have a Series 6 aluminum & I'm honestly thinking of trading it in for a 7 Titanium. I like the bigger screen and keyboard (I hate Scribble) & after always having a aluminum model, I want to try out a Watch with better build materials. I positively adore my apple watch! You helped me figure out what I wanted it for, and even though one of the things (fitness+) isn’t available here in Sweden, even just having the heartrate sensor and gamification of activity is worth it for me. I wish I could have one more complication on the jellyfish screen, but hopefully in the future :D. We even just got the new SE for one of my children who cannot be trusted with a mobile phone and whose heart rate we need to monitor because of medication. I am just so thrilled at this product. The 7 really is far superior, though, if only for that fast charge. The SE charges SO SLOWLY!

I had a series 5. I bought the 7 because I got tired of having to squint to read corner complications on watch faces like count up…now i can quickly glance and see whatever details i have. The text is now much bigger and its vastly improved my experience for me personally. Also like how it charges so fast and the slightly brighter display. Now all we need is for apple to do a 46mm version with better battery so the text doesnt have to shrink when the watch switches to always on display. Hate that the nike watch faces turn off their solid color background when AOD kicks in….the purple gradient on the nike bounce watch face is great. Also I am curious why the apple watch has never had a thermometer especially with the current pandemic would have thought they would have dropped a thermometer in addition to the blood oxygen sensor.

Yes, I may not have the blood oxygen and all of that but I swayed more to the software updates and what my 4 could still do with them if that makes any sense 🤣 what me and my dad would do is rather upgrade our phones than our watches but we are definitely happy with our Series 7

I like the aluminum over the stainless because it’s lighter and therefore feels more comfortable on my wrist. I have a Series 6, and will probably upgrade to a Series 8 when it comes out.

Now that the Series 8 has been released, the Series 7 Stainless models are in the refurb store at some great prices. I'm so tempted to finally upgrade from my Series 3 Stainless to one of those refurb 7s. My S3 still looks brand new so I can definitely vouch for the durability of the stainless steel models.

I’ve currently have an S5. Had it for a pretty long time now. Have a case on it. Rhinoshield. It keeps the Watch looking brand new. Would case up the s7 so think I’d lose the coolness of the edge. Long story short…think I might just stay with the 5.

The thing I don’t like about my apple 7 watch is the battery life. It’s brand new and barely holds a charge through the day. I have always on display but that’s all I do. Boh

I agree with Greg coming from the S6 in that the S7 is not a huge upgrade but a bigger one than I thought reading the previous reviews. I enjoy the S7 Nike 45 mm midnight and the bigger display and the faster charging which comes in handy a lot for me. They didn't need to upgrade the CPU it's plenty fast and the Nike watch faces are cool. I recommend getting the Nike Edition as the price is pretty close. They keyboard is also a bigger deal than I thought. For me it is the difference between between banging out a message quickly and not bothering. I don't regret upgrading to S7 from S6 at all.

I do a 2 hour work out at 4am and go to work at 7am, I work for 8 hours and then I am up until 9pm, my battery deosn't dip below 50% ever on a the 6th Gen. I have no idea why a faster charge would be required tbh. Mine is sim enabled and I use it as a phone daily. there just isn't enough of a difference from 6 to 7 to warant an upgrade unless you are just splashing the cash.
