Even the Mustang Alpha can make some money doing bounty hunting, although it may not be the most optimal option. It won't prevent you from earning some money to get another ship though.

It's a "might as well" thing when it comes to the Mustang. The nose turret with the 2 Size 2 Weapons are already going to be gimbaled, and the S1 mounts can have S1 gimbals with S1 weapons so there's no size penalty for using them there. There's just no downside and you can always toggle between modes if you find one better for certain situations.

Any laser repeaters would work as well. There's no difference between any of the ones of the same size currently.
