50k now for a hut in Carbeth. Land reform, from community buy out to community sell out to the cost of conservation and the culture and what was fought for. Reconnection? No, disconnection of the working class for the purpose of profit. Gentification agenda. Huts at Carbeth now sell for more than the cost of a flat locally.

No flat in strathblane or any local area sells for 50k, and only few huts sell for 50k. It’s still working class people buying huts because they have more disposable income than they used to have. The place could do with a bit of gentrification, that’s not a bad thing. People who pay 50k for a hut, have more invested in carbeth than someone who had hut passed on to them.

Not at all William. You have a funny idea of middle class! Same with caravaning. A friend who works on a local farm is chairman of the local caravan club, and although not poor I think he would balk at being called "Middle Class". Aspirational maybe. Also the huts that were knocked down locally were all run and owned by local people from the nearby towns. Dalbeattie and Dumfries are not renowned for their bankers and stockbrokers.
