    Thanks for the great video. I use the Boss GE-7. Since this pedal in my pedalboard I can not imagine how I could exist without it before :D My solo settings are identical to yours +/- with the exception of high frequencies. Perhaps it depends on the amp and cab, at home and at rehearsals I use Peavey 6505 + Orange PPC412 and I like to remove 6.4k frequencies. The sound becomes more powerful and richer. But, when recording or playing through a sound card, the sound can be completely changed... I mean, those settings that were good for playing through an amplifier may not be as cool as when playing through the chain -> amp - sound card - impulses. And it turns out that you always learn something new :)

    When I played live, all this fancy eq-ing stuff was unkonwn to me, so I just took a step forward and hit the wrong note. That made my solos stand out best. This shows I really need this pedal...

    Nice, I've been looking for this sort of info for a while, thanks. I knew it was something to do with the EQ but couldn't figure what would work best. Some patches just seemed to disappear sonically so I'm going to give this a try. Does this work equally as well for less overdriven tones (crunch)? Can you follow it up with maybe an EQ for sitting back in the rhythm. Maybe for other styles of music also. Great job - I'm subscribing!

    I kick on the 5 band eq on my Mesa. But that means I have to dedicate it for that. This is a pretty amazing pedal I could actually use. I have a boost pedal but I only use it for clean leads because it does nothing for volume on high gain.

  • @zoesan4517
    @zoesan4517 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    "Anything below a hundred doesn't need to exist".
    I'd disagree with that. Even in standard tuning, the lowest E sits at 82hz, which is probably something you still want to hear the fundamental of.

    • @IvanDepetro.17
      @IvanDepetro.17 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Well, Low cuts aren't vertical cuts, they just sort of turn down the volume from a certain point below.. so, if you cut at 100hz, 82 hz will still exist, just a bit lower in volume, but you'll get rid of sub frequencies that you totally don't need

    • @Julian66666666666666
      @Julian66666666666666 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah but you don't need all those lows on lead guitar

    • @GIGeorge23
      @GIGeorge23 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would argue that fundamental frequencies are less important in guitar than they are in bass.

    • @supernoobsmith5718
      @supernoobsmith5718 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      HOW you get your boost matters too. If your boost adds gain and not just volume that will change the character of the low frequencies. Just like having to turn down the bass when raising the gain on your amp, lest it gets woofy.
