This is an amazing setup! I first got ducks a few years back and have been amazed at how much fertility they provide. By the time I moved out of town, our back lawn looked amazing! We just starting to build things out on our little farmstead and I've found lots of inspiration from your content!
Jack, have you heard of Dunstan chestnuts? They are a American/Chinese cross with an emphasis on the American variety 80/20ish I think. They grow much taller than and produce a much larger nut compared to the Chinese variety. They are mostly being sold as a deer attractant but are the closest thing to a native chestnut and there is no reason people can’t eat them.
You could heat up your water a bit if you covered that black feed trough with glass after you are done for the year with the feed bags. Probably won't stop the system from freezing, but I would imagine you could push your seasons enough to notice a difference.

This is awesome just for the all the life you've created in one place and the fact that it all feeds eachother is something else. Great stuff.
Wow...amazing...

EPIC!!! BUILD!
That’s really cool.
Why don't you try planting a American Hazelnut tree in that last spot. They produce nuts a lot quicker than chestnuts.
