She's so big. I love seeing how your place is growing. What cherry is growing voluntarily I lost a bunch to winter and need to replant my orchard.

I've so missed watching you since we moved across country from Utah.
The long weed, sow thistle, is similar to wild lettuce (aka opium lettuce). You can make a great tincture for pain management that equal to opium without the side effects or worries of addiction or overdose.
I use alcohol and apple cider vinegar to make the tinctures because each extracts different compounds from plants.

Sow thistle is a great edible and used a lot here in New Zealand. I'm actually planting in my garden! Here in NZ it's mostly used in "boil up" meals. But I use it in soups and stews too. It's one of the veges that many class as a "super food" because it is so high in nutrients

Thank you for sharing this informative video.
P.S. I am impressed that your cherry tree pits turned into volunteer plants!

They only started doing that two years ago. We are ten years into our permaculture system.

@@dirtpatcheaven I've been watching ur property develop for years and it looks particularly lush from the perspectives that u share. Is it more abundant this year in ur opinion? Having 340 growing days is IMPRESSIVE 💚🌱
      Tfs.

Just a quick question concerning your cherries. Are they Nanking cherries or another type of cherry. Thanks sooo much for all the videos/hard work/sacrafice over the years. Been following your channel for quite a while. Bless you and yours.

I have all kinds of cherries. The easiest ones have been Nanking in our climate but with a forest type situation the other cherries have been fine too. Sweet cherries I have needed to baby more for them to survive, let alone thrive. We plant sensitive trees on the north side of the house in winter shade so that they stay cold and wake up later in the Spring.

I wanted ducks initially, but I decided against them because I don’t know enough about them in my gardens. The turkey is already pecking at new pumpkins, walking on squash and tromping my potatoes in mineral tub containers- can’t wait til Thanksgiving to dispatch him. He has become a pain, always in the trash, knocking down seedlings, uprooting them just for fun….gotta go!

We found by planting lots of swiss chard and other greens for them to graze on amongst other plants the turkeys didn't disturb the ones with blossoms and fruit. For turkeys personal space is really important and lots of greens and then they just eat the bugs and the greens.

@@dirtpatcheaven I’ll give that a try once I get some chard going. Cabbage loopers really put the hurt on the brassicas - almost down to stem and one new leaf.
