Blackship Tutorial | Japanese Proxy Service | Website Overview & Consolidating My Orders 📦

***APRIL 2024 UPDATE: Starting this month, Blackship introduced a 2-Step Check Out process. Now buyers can select the shipping method after consolidation seeing the final shipping prices instead of selecting beforehand based on estimates.

This was my second time using the Japanese proxy service, Blackship, and I wanted to share a bit of the process so it will maybe be of use to anyone using them for the first time! Hi, sometimes when I use a Proxy Buying service, for some reason the seller knows that they are shipping to a company who buys for a 3rd party, to ship out of Japan, and for that reason, they reject the order. I am wondering if you happen to know of any Proxy Buying services that are really good at making it look like it is not a Proxy buying company that is purchasing the item? I know, this is a long shot question, but I thought I would ask. The only way I know of is to use a Personal Shopper, but their fees are very high. I also wish that I could sometimes ask the seller a question, but services like Buyee for example, are unwilling to send the seller any questions. I have asked several Proxy Buying services if they could ask the seller a question for me, about the item, and they have been unwilling or unable to do that for me. I also know that a Personal Shopper will ask questions, but one service that I asked charges 10,000 Yen per question. Thanks for any thoughts.

Based on your experience, which proxy service would you say has the least expensive shipping costs? I saw your buyee tutorial and wanted to order with them, but I saw you made an update about how they doubled/tripled the costs? Is Neokyo or Blackship any better? Thank you!!!

It depends on the weight and size of your order, but I'm using Neokyo now because the shipping was more affordable for me than Buyee. I like Blackship too, but they're not compatible with Mercari Japan, so I'll probably be using Neokyo more frequently! I've only used these three proxy services though, and there are more out there that could be good options!

Are they able to send packages without their branding all over?

Yup! At 11:21 it's one of the options "remove branding" when you consolidate your orders to ship ☺

Does blackship work with yahoo auctions?

This is what their FAQ says: Registering in Mercari and Yahoo Auction will require you to have an active Japanese Phone number. While you can use our phone number in your Japan address for address forms, we cannot assist with SMS or phone verification on websites as it's a landline number, not a mobile phone number. If you are looking to purchase on Mercari or Yahoo Auction (or even any other sites), you can use the service of our sister company, Japan Rabbit, to purchase for you. Once the package arrives at Japan Rabbit, you can migrate (move) them to Blackship for free!

as far as i know they all charge the same for shipping since its dependant on the courier company you select (japan post, fedex,dhl,etc), the size and weight of ur items. Not sure what u mean by how they doubled or tripled the costs tho.

I'm not really sure how or why it happened, but the order was the same size and weight as an order I had made a few months earlier, but the shipping was triple the cost of the earlier order 🤷🏻‍♀
