The randomness is what keeps it interesting. Your eclectic interests and your thoughts on them are always enlightening.

One of us, one of us :) Seriously though, thanks!

Variety should never be a weakness! I enjoy your in-depth reviews and thoughtfulness across many of your areas of interest.

"I'm a little more thoughtful about processing meaning." It was exactly this quality of your Babymetal videos, combined with your theater man eye for details in choreo and stage performance, that got me hooked.

Yay. It feels like people who value such things are a shrinking population, but we stand by our values :)

Professor, this is a great explanation of the formula: Complexity x Integrity + Relatability - Ego = Hartley Hybridity.
    Keep the good stuff coming.

"I'm tired of pretending that this is a weakness. It's a strength and I'm going with it" YES!

Of course, the best part of this video was the opening and closing music! Oh, and the stuff in between was interesting, too. 😂

I'm very glad I discovered your channel a couple of years back through your BABYMETAL analyses - "hybrid channels" are always interesting to me. 🙂

Excellent! And I've appreciated your comments. It's great (and rare) to have people participate in a mostly benign and thoughtful discursive community.

I think it’s great that your channel is just you and whatever you want to talk about. Humans are multi-faceted with typically many interests, and your channel feels like “you”, rather than strictly keeping to one subject like many channels do. And like you said, if someone’s not interested in certain parts of it, they can easily just ignore those. I think it’s fascinating how many interests you have and I encourage you to keep sharing and talking about them. :)

Great post! I appreciate the eclectic person. They are far more interesting. I have struggled with this as well. I always feel like I should define myself by a single thing or focus. I never can. I respect that being "hybrid" is a strength not a weakness.

Why do I have the impression that you apologize for what you are doing (like "I am what I am, I can't help it")? No need at all! Your channel is one of few (non-scientific) channels I follow because it is without frills and furbelows which distinguishes it from other skin-deep wannabe reaction channels and even the other "stuff" like model train just shows what a multi-dimensional personality you are which is quite rare and separates you from the one-trick ponies around.

Thank you! And I have some of your questions lined up for my next Ask me anything round so thanks for those too!
